I agree to an extent. I think for certain specialties it does matter more. I know someone who matched IM at a smaller community program, and wasn’t able to match GI fellowship even after two chief years. They ended up becoming a hospitalist and wasted two years of attending salary.
Very helpful, I wanted to ask you something that I graduated in 2022, i am currently a resident of neurology in my home country i have only one publication, that too was very difficult for me, i was denied US visa last month so usce may be not possible for me in this year match. Could you please point out something to improve my CV, and does being a current neuro resident help in the match... plz advise.
Definitely being a neuro resident will be helpful. I think anything you can do to show your interest in neurology whether research or clinical experience will be helpful!

True. Some programs may set you up better for fellowship.
