    I'm also pretty new to firewood and love processing timber. I gotta say that little cinder block trick was pretty sweet haha. I have tool handle billets/blanks drying and the same thing goes for them when it comes to being able to get to the dry stuff. I try to rotate my piles so the dry stuff is up top. A lot more work for firewood but eventually it has to be moved anyway.

    hi there . interesting my biggest problem we walking or cutting down my steps . like now the fire wood is one step from splitter to stack . one step from stack to boiler door . i guess its the one step plan . the second was the wood splitter merry go round . good show thanks john

    Up in NW Oregon, even if you leave big rounds under cover and on pallets, they still soak up the moisture and become insanely hard to split. I saved the rounds so I’d have wood to split with my new Killinger handles. They did well

    Have you given us a tour of the boiler? Is it a Gasification style? Does it have a Ideal moisture for the wood? 🧡🔥👍🏼👊🏼

    • @KillingerUSA
      @KillingerUSA  3 года назад

      I have not. I was waiting till I hot it all hook up and ready to run. It's not a gasification unit. It's the old school kind that will burn just about anything.

  • @aldredske6197

    Good morning Chris!!😀😀
    Your boiler is exactly the same as mine. They are a great stove so far. I have been burning mine for 20 years now with very few problems. I think every electric component has been replaced only once in all those years. I have found that mine likes the moisture around 25 to 30 percent. If it is too dry it burns up too fast. I usually cut most of my wood 20 to 24 inches long Especially if it doesn't need to be split.
    Is the back panel of your stove missing or did you just have it off?
    Another little hint with the stove. Keep a layer of ashes on the grates and have a poker to just make a few holes down threw it. If you don't keep some above the grates for some coals to lay in when it not really cold out . The fire will go out.
    You will see what I mean when you get it started until you get a layer in it. If you have any questions about it. Give me a shout!!😀😀
    Take care buddy!! TTYL!!

      @KillingerUSA  3 года назад

      Back panel is here, I just have it off because I'm still hooking up the water lines. Waiting on some fittings. Do you run your pump all the time or does it turn on when there is a demand for heat?

    • @aldredske6197
      @aldredske6197 3 года назад +1

      @@KillingerUSA I thought that might be that you just had it off for hook up. You have the pump only run when the house is calling for heat. Does yours have the hot water coil in it. If it does you are going to love it.

    • @KillingerUSA
      @KillingerUSA  3 года назад

      @@aldredske6197 it does but I wont be hooking it up this year as I only have 2 lines in the ground.

    • @aldredske6197
      @aldredske6197 3 года назад +1

      @@KillingerUSA that's a bummer. With only 2 lines you are going to have to keep a eye on your water level because the supply line is hooked to the float in the evaporator stack that keeps it full by teeing off the supply line that goes through the coil and back to the hot water heater fill port.

    I’ve always thought a setup like Buckin’s, but with rolling doors on the back-that way the wood you put in first can be accessed first by opening the doors in the back. Does that make sense?

    Easy fix empty basket pull wood from back of pile. Then if dont get into front it be your oldest. I'd watch how close you get with wood by stove. You get hot ember out stack it could catch stuff if stack really close.

    Caminhoneiro
    Chitãozinho & Xororó
    Composição: Erasmo Carlos / John Hartford / Roberto Carlos
    Todo dia quando eu pego a estrada
    Quase sempre é madrugada
    E o meu amor aumenta mais
    Porque eu penso nela no caminho
    Imagino seu carinho
    E todo o bem que ela me faz
    A saudade então aperta o peito
    Ligo o rádio e dou um jeito
    De espantar a solidão
    Se é de dia eu ando mais veloz
    E à noite todos os faróis
    Iluminando a escuridão
    Eu sei
    Tô correndo ao encontro dela
    Coração tá disparado
    Mas eu ando com cuidado
    Não me arrisco na banguela
    Eu sei
    Todo dia nessa estrada
    No volante eu penso nela
    Já pintei no pára-choque
    Um coração e o nome dela
    Já rodei o meu país inteiro
    Como um bom caminhoneiro
    Peguei chuva e serração
    Quando chove o limpador desliza
    Vai e vem no pára-brisa
    Bate igual meu coração
    Doido pelo doce do seu beijo
    Olho cheio de desejo
    Seu retrato no painel
    É no acostamento dos seus braços
    Que eu desligo meu cansaço
    E me abasteço desse mel
    Eu sei
    Tô correndo ao encontro dela
    Coração tá disparado
    Mas eu ando com cuidado
    Não me arrisco na banguela
    Eu sei
    Todo dia nessa estrada

    Um coração e o nome dela
    Todo dia quando eu pego a estrada
    Quase sempre é madrugada
    E o meu amor aumenta mais
    Olho o horizonte e vou em frente
    Tô com Deus e tô contente
    Meu caminho eu sigo em paz
    Eu sei
    Tô correndo ao encontro dela
    Coração tá disparado
    Mas eu ando com cuidado
    Não me arrisco na banguela
    Eu sei
