People mention the Villa game because it was recent, I think dropping 7 points to Fulham and West Ham was a bigger deal. Villa is not an easy team to beat.
With great wealth comes much power. They won't be relegated.
It's recent yes that's where the league was lost the other games had them in the title race n was still winning then.
Arsenal dropped points when they were winning against 10 man Fulham at home. That was an awful result.
so u wanted Arsenal to go unbeaten ????
8 points dropped to Fulham and West Ham.
People are talking more about Arsenal losing the League than City winning it.
So what is your point really?
You never got much attention growing up i see
@@ivanrivera6998 no one cares about city who made history (4 PL in a row) because theyve got 115 charges i guess.
Nah
The whole video is about Rodri's comment so it looks like the press are also mocking Arsenal 🤣
Getting a draw against your title contender was not and will never will be the worst thing. We didn't take care of the rest of the matches. Getting 4/6 with City is not bad.
When has City ever played for a draw? Playing for a draw shows how scared they were. Champions play to win.
@@russellward4624ok they played for a win and won how many please? They didn’t beat any of their title contenders.
Orrr in previous seasons, how many times have they won at Anfield?
@@russellward4624 So you thing Real Madrid do not have Champions mentality? They were more battered than Arsenal at Etihad. Team Managers adapt and decide with a game plan to win either though counter attack or possession play.
You missed the point. It's not the result, it's the approach. Gibbs saying otherwise shows why he had a failed career.
@@bahriboy and you missed mine, city aren’t the only team to have won titles. We saw Jose do this, win at home get draws away. Were their questions about mentality?
City didn’t win any of those games no matter the mentality he’s claiming.
Arsenal got the highest of the three contenders. Bit didn’t show mentality? It’s a nonsense argument
Arsenal took 4 points from a possible 6 against City, even beating them in community shield, but got zero against Villa. So this whole discussion point is just nonsense
And if they got 6 points they would have won the league. They played for a draw at the Etihad and lost the league
It's ESPNFC, most of their discussions are complete nonsense
Arsenal need to figure out how to win dirty like simeone's teams. Saka gets kicked and not a single arsenal player off the bench can take a red card by body kicking that player? even when you're up 5-0? are you serious? never mind, guendouzi tried stiking up for his team mates and he was shipped. I get it now, this is coming from Arteta.
City don’t really care about the community shield so if u ago offer that poor you
Yeah , I believe if you go 36/38 or 32/36 against the rest of the league , you would have 100 points even without beating the title holders … it’s weird … as an example … Real Madrid knew they can’t hurt themselves , they can’t … by being open ? I think that would be naive coaching , but yes , I agree you with , winning the title , in my opinion is not about beating Man City twice
I love how the "experts" suddenly know everything AFTER the fact.
Yeah. Arsenal aren't even supposed to be in the top 4 according to Super Smart Pundits.
Why are you even watching this? It's the entire point of punditry for decades.

Who won premier league sir shhhh 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
4/6 points against city this season, best record in the league against the big six. If anyone says they lost the league by going for a draw at city away then they’re an idiot, arsenal lost it by taking 1/12 points from villa and fulham
And by losing 1 & drawing 4 games in Dec, City gave you the illusion that you lost the league due to Villa. You almost won because City were in bad form, not because of points dropped to Villa. So come back with better mentality next year and try again. A 10/10 City might be ahead of you
if you got those extra 2 point you could've won the league..
The difference is that you bet on beating "other" team, taking light on villa. while city is sweeping all the point.
Good ebening screwed us😢
Some of these pundits should be fired...arsenal get 89pts and 4 from city and they are complaining about arsenal lacking ambition If we had attacked and lost the same idiots would have said we were too open...make up your mind you Arsenal haters
city 3 - 3 spurs chelsea 4 - 4 city , city 1 - 1 liverpool . all before march game vs arsenal, so by that time, it was clear you can attack city this season and Arsenal didn't.

Craig that is crazy Arsenal lost to Aston Villa was the nail in the coffin not drawing at the Etihad
Arsenal played for the win against Villa and lost. Unfortunate, but at least they put themselves in a position to win. Against city, they didn't even play for the win, they played for a draw
@@krisxchirbas9503 I thought the old adage to win the title was take care of business at home against the top teams, avoid losing to the top teams on the road and then beat everybody else? So, people switching their tunes now that it’s Arsenal.
I totally agree keep reminding everybody that arsenal give away the again Aston villa that it games over.
Arsenal won 18 out of their last 20 games.
In most seasons, you win the league on that form.
But they're up against a club. with all those charges, so what did people expect?
Rodri was clearly talking about psychological factor. If arsenal would have gone for the kill and gotten 3 points it would have killed their confidence but playing low block at Etihad made them more arrogant and confident and they went on winning the league. It's all about psychological game. Liverpool lost their momentum when they got KO at FA Cup against United and then went on to lose 2 more points in the league against United. For arsenal 1 point against city was perfect but we all knew city would win the rest of the game so they should have gone for the kill and kill that hope for city at that game
Arsenal getting four points against City certainly wasn't why they didn't win the league. Losing to West Ham and Villa at home were much more at fault.
Chins up mate xx
Fulham man
Gab is correct here. It’s easy to say this all in hindsight, including Rodri.
No he is wrong
Rodri isn't talking in hindsight. He said that game he knew and he was proven right in the end.
Rodri criticised Arsenal after the game for their style of play but Arsenal fans said he was salty so he’s fully in his rights to double down.
@@rakimrobinsonMCFC in hindsight, why didn't he say it directly after that game?

Rodri clearly is rubbing it in.He knows nothing about Arsenal season. He is clearly ignorant
He knows nothing about Arsenal but he knows about winning and has the medals to prove it. Arsenal had a good season but nothing to show for it apart from champions league football next season. You could say Liverpool have had a better season. Champions league football and a trophy, Yes it's the carabou Cup but it beats an empty trophy cabinet.
Rodri is not a humble person, bit he is right. Arsenal lost the league because they played for a draw against city
@krisxchirbas9503 do you actually believe what you are saying ir are you just trolling.
How much do u pay for your Arsenal season ticket to cry every season?
Rodri said that they would do it differently, and he's correct. City go to win every game.
Wait, did I miss ManCity beating Arsenal in the league this season?
No you missed man city winning the league 😂
Last 3 or 4 games they haven't won 115
You must have missed City finishing ABOVE Arsenal in the final PL standings though 😂😂
It's easy for Rodri to make this sort of comment after the fact. You're champions already.
Just as Gab said, none of this would have mattered if Son took his chances.
If we're going by that Logic, they would be in the UCL final right now. Madrid played for a draw and piped them on penalties. I didn't hear him making the same assessments.
Lol he actually said exact same thing after the Madrid match
Exactly! We could have said it was down to mentality that City didn't beat Real Madrid at the Bernabue coe they were in the lead before Madrid equalised the game 3-3.
no penalties on PL and you count on other team to beat city? instead of taking chances and trying to beat them?
If Rodri thinks they have the mentality they should have won the game at home against Arsenal. He is so salty because Arsenal stifled their team and they could not get a win. Haaland took a long time to come out of Gabriel's pocket. He can not stand the fact that they could not get a win against AFC in the whole season. In fact, Arsenal had 2 wins - one at home and in the community shield game. He expects every other team to open up and allow them to win. Keep being salty, Rodri. I heard he made the same comments about Real Madrid and Switzerland in their match against Spain. You have the right to be arrogant, but you have no right to comment on another team's mentality, without actually being an insider. So, shut up.

Not downplaying Arsenal but stating some FACTS.
Arsenal had a good season but won ZERO TROPHIES.
We all know that city had a relatively weak summer window and that this summer they will strengthen their squad.
I look at the Villa game as the points dropped, not the City game.
A draw against the best team in England and one of the top 3 teams in the world this season was the wisest approach. Expecting a win on the home turf is a foolish approach. The issue was losing against Aston Villa 2-0 the following month which kills the whole strategy otherwise y'all would be praise Arteta strategic brilliance instead of trash talking him. Funny enough the biggest dent to Arsenal losing the league was losing to Fulham on the last day of December 2-1. That is when I predicted Arsenal not winning the league.

Correct me if I'm wrong. In the two games v City, City had TWO shots on target. So how does this make sense??!
Reality is they could’ve won that game regardless, this narrative Arsenal weren’t trying to win was nonsense, they simply employed more closed tactics in order to exploit City whilst maintaining their defence, example: Trossard squares that ball to Martinelli on the counter rather than waiting & Martinelli scores & Arsenal win the game entirely, Arsenal created more clear chances in that game than they did
Didn't know there was set rules on how to play a football match

However, im happy we're in the conversations
Difference is yes City drew and lost a lot of top 6 games this season. They went at them and it was either because of unluck or just getting outclassed on the day that they dropped points. Arsenal played to not lose in the middle of the season.
Why didn't his team then win. Rodri is angry that arsenal is closing that gap. Again he's is playing in a club charged with 115 charges. Nonsense.
While I agree with everyone that getting a Draw is not the worst thing and not what cost us the title. But Rodri is alluding to is the psychological effect of beating your contender in the run-in, it demoralises them and gives you an mental edge. In essence Rodri is saying the City players walked away from that draw believing Arsenal are better then them this season and it propelled them to win every match and prove indeed they are better then Arsenal.
What a load of rubbish. We beat them already 2x before that.. There's no result in that game that would demoralize a well coached & experience side like citeh. This narrative is just plain ol foolish. Your opponents job is not to make the game easy for you. Citeh had 2 shots on target across 180m of football against arsenal. Sounds like we did a fine job on the best attacking team in a generation 🤦
Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are not qualified to play in the UEFA Champions League next season. Yet, they have the audacity to make fun of Arsenal. What a strange world!
Craig talking about “not looking back on results in September or October” without realizing that now you really do have to look back that far because when you have the kind of form Arsenal had between January and the end of the season and it not be enough, you have to look at the entire season as a whole not just pick and chose the most recent results because they’re the easiest to use in debates like this. Personally, of the 10 games Arsenal dropped points in, the draw at City is the literal bottom of my list.
ESPN spend more time talking about the runners up.
He's spot on. Don't forget they didn't reach 90 points. Are others saying they're simply not good enough? That's not what Rodri says, he says they have the ability just not the mentality.
When Arsenal playes City,Arsenal were 1 or 2 points ahead of City.
Arsenal held them tight and at the end got a chance or 2 to win the game..
We beat them at the Emirates, took 4 out of 6 points. That's a great result against City. At the time of the City game, it was vital we didn't drop any points as we were ahead. Why is there no context and research when talking about the reaction to Rodri's statement?
Arsenal lives rent free in other fans' heads. Liverpool spent way more days top of the league, yet no one's talking about their bottle job. Chelsea spent a billion and got battered everywhere they went. Spurs fans celebrated missing out on CL and embarrassed the manager. United...well you know. I'll take banter from City but the rest, have some shame lol. Villa can be proud too.
Same applies to Man City, when Arsenal were 1 goal up at the Emirates and City were desperate for a draw to avoid dropping points.
I understand what Rodri meant. Arsenal playing for a draw clearly points out to City that Arsenal KNOW they aren't better than them. When City battled with Liverpool, Liverpool went head to head with them

And if Arsenal lost that game these same pundits would be saying "if you can't win, make sure you don't lose"
Arsenal took 4 points off City and Liverpool. Unbeaten against the traditional Top 6. The 115FC won because of that Newcastle and Villa robbery against Arsenal even if we ignore how the referees have favoured them throughout. The Liverpool game and the McAllister pen comes to my mind.
This is absolutely ridiculous to even suggest that Arsenal draw at the Etihad was a mistake. Last season they were also fighting for the title and they lost 4-1 and we all saw that it could have been 6 or 7. Arsenal were brilliant, but they have to be more consistent against teams from the bottom of the table. It's as easy as it gets. City this season struggled hugely to win against top 6 teams and to balance their defensive transition (much much stronger at the end of the season).
The context is Arsenal had always lose to City home and away for more than 5 seasons back-to-back and Arsenal had already taken 3 points from the City before the match. City wanted the 3 points more at the Etihad and it was like a victory for Arsenal taking away a point from the Etihad.
The Villa game at the Emirate costed Arsenal not the City game at the Etihad.
City gained quite a few points this season from rather suspect VAR decisions and the same can't be said for Arsenal.
Kieran is an Arsenal fan with Spurs mentality
City came to the Emirates and didn't try to beat Arsenal either. I agree with Gibbsy, Villa was the defining match. If you are gonna win the league against this City team, you can't afford to lose 5 games. The teams had the same number of wins but the losses went against Arsenal.

The game vs City was a 50:50 game and getting a draw is not bad. Rodri should just celebrate his medal and stop talking about other team mentality
Pundits seem to forget Arsenal played city with the same tactics twice before in this season and won. To say they were out for a draw itself is fallacy.
In the long-run, the draw at the Etihad will go down as a turning point in the psychology of the Gunners. Better than throwing caution to the wind and getting battered. Trust the process!!!
The hindsight analysis of arsenal game plan at Etihad is absolutely ridiculous. Afc was praised as the time for gaining a point. The dislike or subtle hatred is obvious. There are more key games like villa and Westham at Emirate that probably decided the season and not Etihad game. The beef and bias is just unfair.
Craig is right but the fact is that Arsenal would have lost the cup already. Flip side would have been fans didn't have to bear the tension for that long.
it's absurd to think that this is what lost us the league when we lost games like West Ham at home and only took 1/6 points vs Fullham. THAT'S what lost us the league, not the City game.
It is pathetic to hear the very same people who in 2022-23 season said Arsenal lost because they couldn't take points on City and the other top 4 teams, fast forward 2024, and here they are insinuating that Arsenal lost the league at City. Are sure Arsenal was supposed to run rampant against City at Etihad?. No wonder you guys are not managers but pundits. Arsenal lost it against the lesser teams they faced
mainly in the first round of the league, minimize the hate and be factual.
People are forgetting that the draw put us in the position to control our destiny. Villa game was the game we lost it
That is all nonsense. Arsenal had more VAR decissions against than ManCity. That could have been the difference. Arteta needed to rest Saka the game before Aston Villa and Saliba nad Gabriel and Rice. That is the problem with Arteta needs to rotate the team more. Having to play Aston villa after a champions league midweek game was the difference.
Arsenal's goal for next season : to beat A Villa home & away. And to go for London parade.
Very silly from Rodri because i'm pretty sure he didn't call out Real Madrid for parking 5 buses not just one
Rodri talking about mentality is laughable after he got himself sent off against Nottingham Forest for acting like a petulant child.
Arsenal got 4/6 points from city so tell me how that etihad game decided it …..
Arsenal had a fantastic season, but you don't beat this City team with less than 90 points, bottom line.
If VAR had done its job correctly in just 1 of the numerous games they misjudged against Arsenal. No one can be saying such rubbish. No one is ready for the discussion.
We beat them at home. Didnt eed to beat them away. The games that lost us the league fulham at home, west ham at home, newcastle away, villa away. In two of those games the ball was out when the first goal was scored.
Apparently City came to to the Emirates to lose earlier in the season. I guess that's the correct approach since they won the title
Sad, people would talk about the Etihad game this way. Arsenal wanted to win, but on the break. A shame that the outlet was Trossard on the left in the absence of Martinelli. The chance we had were crying for a martinelli. Trossard lacking pace hurt us.
As well, it came at the business end of the season, losing would have been hard to recover the points.
I guarantee you, if that game was at the Etihad in September, October, Arsenal would have had a different approach. If the outcome would be different is another thing 🤷♀️
Lol. It's absurd that this is even a discussion. Arsenal didn't lose the league at the dropped points at the Etihad... It was lost at all the other lower teams we lost or drew... Especially at home
Parking the bus at city is giving up the title race
Madrid used same tactics to get them out of the Champions league Arsenal lacked finishing of two chases they got from Jesus and Trosad.but 4 points from City are enough.
Move Gabriel Jesus to RW to compete with Saka. At this point he needs to do what is needed and not be mad that he isn't a 9 in England. Havertz can continue to be the 9. Full season out of him there should net 30 goal involvements. We can buy a young promising striker while either Martinelli or Trossard can be backup 9, or both but I feel like 1 of them will have to move on. Partey needs to be replaced. Wouldn't hurt to get another LB, just in case.
Rodri is absolutely right .... a point at the Etihad early season is a great result .... a point at the Etihad in a title run in is NOT a great result, and especially when its City who are your title rivals!
That blocke only said that after the last game.
What a bunch of jokers for analysts. Got 4/6 points against City who never took the attack to us at the Emirates but sure it was Arsenal who were timid
