    Well bought mine here in Venezuela 7 month ago and already put almost 10k kilometers and cero issues, lovely bike handles in curves like a sport tourer and has brakes that the versys can only dream of, let’s see in time ahead how it goes cheers

      They are good bikes, I wish they would push them out more in the UK.

    I've had mine since November and I love it. Use it in town but also on mway with no issues.
    I see MM are improving their network in mainland Europe and the US, they added a few dealership in the UK too since I bought mine but still not enough...for example only 1 dealer in the whole of London. But hopefully as they're ramping up for the launch of their new models later this year/beginning of 2025 they will keep improving the network. The bike is overall good and their upcoming models look very interesting so fingers crossed.

    • @exeterrider
      @exeterrider  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes ,I really like it but with the recent price cut of them -I wonder why they are cutting the prices? bit odd! Will the new models be rolled out across the UK or just a few selected shops....They could seel tons of them if it was all rolled out!

    • @vincedemarzio9167
      @vincedemarzio9167 2 месяца назад

      @@exeterrider Hi mate. I think the strategy behind the discounted prices is to increase sales to get more dealers onto the network in preparation for the launch of the new models, which from what I've heard on Italian channels should be beginning of 2025. it would help if they had more riding experience days in the UK like they're having in Italy and Spain.
      As a side note I believe that if they were to release a 'Rally' version of the XCape with their new 750 V2 engine with 21'-18' tyres shaving off a good 20kg, even without electronic aids they would sell loads, up there with Tenere and 890.
      Just hope the chinese money behind them will help securing a good network, because MM can build bikes.

    Hi Dave.....erm....."Steve". Exmouth looking gorgeous as usual in this one !
    Yes, that is a lovely looking, highly specced bike. In fact, it's probably also a good bike full stop ( maybe best to avoid using it in terrible weather or when there is salt in the roads but that applies to a lot of bikes ! ). As you say, dealer support and parts backup is crucial. Seven grand is only cheap if you can ride the bike for ten years or so. If you end up binning it after a year or two because some important part you need is no longer available, it suddenly becomes a VERY EXPENSIVE bike.
    It is such a shame. A really decent bike for the money but because of the aforementioned factors, very hard to recommend.
    I must admit that I like it a lot. As a budget tourer with all of the luggage on it, it would definitely do for me ! I wouldn't want to take it off-road but then I have Norman for that, so no need to.
    Nice honest review as always mate.

    Usual top quality review, ER.
    Moto Morini at one time was a force to be reckoned with in GP racing and for producing classy V twin road bikes. Unfortunately, with some other noted Italian companies like Benelli and Pirelli, they were bought out by the Chinese.
    Nevertheless it's a good looking machine although the fuel economy isn't that bright.

My old Africa Twin 750 RD-04 was top heavy when fuelled up. Back when all bikes like this had proper petrol tanks. I wouldn't buy a Chinese bike because of the spares situation. Nick

    So ER there are some cracking ital/chino bikes coming out. I still couldn’t put my own hard earned, could you? It’s the back up and doubts from the last. One of my late teen group had a Moto Moroni 350 and was never on the road. I still wish they would bring out a middleweight with shaft or belt drive so on the floor maintenance is reduced. No bloody centre stands on ,ost bikes either

    I have a 2023 X-Cape with just 2000 miles on it which I bought here in the U.S.
    The reason I bought it, was because I had owned a NEW 1977 Kawasaki 650cc and had put 32, 000 miles plus on it with no engine problems.
    I planned on doing mainly highway driving.
    When I had my 2023 X-Cape shipped from Southern California I've taken to a Dealer in Las Vegas, Nevada where I live.
    Two Problems, I don't like.
    1) When going over 40 miles per hour, the REAREND starts HOWLING LOUDLY, especially 70 mph+, to the point, that playing music threw my earbuds gets drowned out by the noise from the rearend.
    2) Shifting is terrible.
    It makes a clunk when putting it in 1ST Gear and I hear a noise going up and down the 6 gears when shifting in each gear.
    AFTER GETTING IT BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THEY ADJUSTED EVERYTHING TO [SPECS] AND I'M HAVING THE SAME 2 PROBLEMS.
    The Dealership I bought it from is in Southern California, which is 450 miles away, WHICH I MAY HAVE TO TAKE IT THERE !
    IS ANYONE HAVING ANY SIMILAR PROBLEMS ? YOUR COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

    In the review, the Versys 650 came up as a comparison bike, as in the same shock etc. Is this just for the sake of comparison or does Kawasaki actually have a stake in this bike?
    BTW I appreciated your horse manners and reassuring the handler that you wouldn't have revved up if you known horse and handler were there.
    The Motorini really doesn't evoke strong emotions for me. The Transalp 750, Versys 650 and Strom 650 and 800 are much more inspiring, I wonder if Motorini will prove themselves. I had a friend who was mad about the MZ and CZ Eastern Bloc bikes and reckoned they were a match for a BMW if you had a basic socket set and a Haynes manual!

    • @exeterrider
      @exeterrider  3 месяца назад

      Hi Ian, It does share a lot from the Versys 650 and the 650 range to a level which I am unsure of, but its the first iteration of the Kawasaki that it shares a lot with such as the front forks, engine (not sure about the electronics and loom) and rear suspension . I have shown these bikes to people in the know and they have said there is no difference and infact they could see any difference at all...
      The STR was supreme in so many way, not so much with the X-cape, but still a fantastic mile muncher.
      The Transalp is way above this machine in so many ways, but its 3.5k more...if it were me I'd save the extra for a bullet proof machine.
      Will MM rolled out into more shops...its been a couple years now and nothing has been rolled out generally speaking. Its a good ride with a good engine.....but....
      Yes take a toolkit with the MZ etc...then again perhaps with the BMWs as well!?
      I nearly cut the horsey bit out but yes , best way to handle such a situation.

      Interesting perspective on the price difference vs the Transalp and how it's just better value to pay 50% more. I agree and in ten years of ownership the Honda will still be a great bike. Not sure the Moto Morini will even still be on the road by then. Just realised I wrote Motorini a couple of times and not Moto Morini!
      I live in Canada and we are starting to see electric motorcycles being sold under the Motorino name, hence the mistake.

    They'll have to work hard to flourish in the UK. For many,many years now, the Chinese have flooded us with atrocious quality bikes which barely lasted 18 months in some cases. Couple that with no spares and dealers which popped up and vanished again almost overnight, it was almost as if they were trying to give themselves a bad name! We Brits remember stuff like that...... The quality these days is right up there in some of the marques, Voge and Kove in particular (in my opinion), however the spectre of spares unavailability and lack of dealers is still there...... It'll be a struggle to gain consumer confidence in the short term, Bad reputations hang around for a long time.

      Yeap, its ironic that they keep shooting themselves in their own foot...this is a good bike overall, yet trying to buy one would be a challenge....makes no sense, perhaps its a budget thing!?

    Shame about the parts, it's a nice looking, budget TransAlp with some good features. If I wanted to go touring on something that only did 43 mpg, I'd do it in a car. Cheaper insurance, throw your stuff in the back and wouldn't get wet which after watching wsmv, is a consideration 🤔 and before you say, what about Saddlebags? He's Cornish and so has the devil on his side 😂😂😂

      He keeps on getting his comments deleted...youtube for you!! 43mpg was what it was telling me but perhaps it was too much speedy steveie...but agree you want better from a motorbike for sure!
