FliteTest can you make an me-163?
Glider is 1.25 dollars when you ad in the nose weight...
@@tomislavspajic9529 I was just about to say that LOL
The plane isn't in your shop, when will it be available, and how much will it cost with the battery and everything else shown in the video?
Just found your channel the other day, and since all my work is foam and hot glue, my son and I made a sparrow chuck glider in a couple of hours with stuff we had around the house. When I said goodnight, he told me I was a "better than normal dad" because I made the plane with him. Just had to say thanks for the experience and fantastic plans. Now off to buy a stack of foamboard........
welp my heart melted just like my hot glue. Thanks for sharing. Happy flying and blue skies. -Alex
Thanks Alex!
Love your videos Lost Wax, good to see you here :D
@@FliteTest how do you make the alerons (spelling?) And the elevators?
@@guyincognito3530 it is spelt elevons
Give it 5 years and Flite test will be the biggest RC platform in the world.
true
At least diy planes
Well, it's been 2 years.

Hey buddy
If you buy the materials from the dollar store and use our free plans, this airframe can be built for $1!
Provided if you can get project foam. If you're in europe you can get it for 1$ + 60$ shipping.
Awesome you guys do this
Love your channel
Really nice project, and idea guys!. Family project
Also can you turn the music down a bit please on your next video, thanks
the first two are loud and I cant focus on what your saying
7:28 sound levels a bit better here, but not like your other videos
Flying 8-Foot A-10 Warthog @ 11:00 is about right
... just trying to help
All the best
@@martinsalko1 lol
False advertisement! The glider is actually $1.25! Counting the nose ballast.
Hahah :p great observation mate
Unless you use blue tack
or tear the quarter off when you crash and burn
0.25 refundable!
Haha... No, because you still have the quarter :)
Getting this, not for me, but to build as a chuck glider for the kid next door. you guys opened the wonder of rc flight for me, now I will pay forward.
Horace Saffore you rock!
Thank you for incorporating the old school Flitetest music in with the new videos. I lOVE it! I don't know what it is, but it makes the videos feel more FliteTesty. Lol
I like that the term "special blend" is used with the waterproof foam board. Makes me think there might be some coffee in there somewhere. lol
At a guess W*lm*rt coffee is made from it ??
Raymond Ashby lol
Looks like a cool little airplane. What I love most about this video; all your videos in fact, is your sincerity.
Been watching this channel for about 4 or 5 years now. Love how you've grown and your team. Love you guys, wishing you all the best from Trinidad and Tobago.
The Long-EZ (and it's variants) is one of my favorite airframes ever. Glad you made an RC one!
In one night you have convinced me to try to build an airplane out of a folder and some cardboard slivers. I might say the plane isn't pretty BUT she glides off of my works roof top for very long time!! I love the DIY print outs you guys have offered us! Needless to say I have printed off some plans and im off to the Dollar tree and my daughters and I will be spending the weekend building a few planes!!! Thank you and keep up the amazing work!
Man, I woke up this morning swearing it was already Sunday. Last night I built my first little foam board plane and I can't wait to try to build this LongEZ next!
honestly it blows my mind how passionate these guys are towards the hobby. keep it up :D
Plane looks awesome. You guys are so polite and informative. Keep up the great work guys.
One of the most positive channels on RUclips; makes me want to get into the RC building!
My 12 year old son and I built the LongEZ as a chuck glider and were super excited to fly it. We spent 3-4 hours building it from scratch over 2 days. After completing it we immediately went outside to fly. It flew great! We managed to fly it about 4 times before the front wing broke off. With a little tape we were back in the air for about 10 more flights before the other front wing broke off. The wings are now hot glued and reinforced with tape. It still flies great!!
I would suggest that the design be modified to allow a replacable front wing since the plane is a belly lander it tends to take all of the punishment. Our next LongEZ will be modified so we can replace the wing.
8 long years of watching you guys and I'm still entertained. Hello from northwest Ohio.
Your positive attitude makes me want to spend my whole paycheck at your business. A++ fella's !
Classic FliteTest at it's best!
Wow! This video kinda takes me back to when I was first starting out! Feels good to think back to the basics!
Awesome and thoughtful video for new pilots ! Really enjoy being subscribed to this channel 👍👍 now off to buy one of your kits😀
Both versions look like a total blast! :) Looking forward to seeing the next one of the A-10 and THAT SWEET P-40!!!
A well trimmed Canard makes an excellent first airplane because they essentially never stall the main wing when the CG is set just a bit forward. That means you never lose roll or yaw control.
The forward surface stalls and that drops the nose, preventing the main wing from stalling.
This looks fun!I love your channel I just got into the hobby a couple months ago but I have not flew a rc plane yet so I am saving my money to buy one and make one!Thank you for all the help! Edit:Thank you flite test I have never been hearted before so I am very happy cheers!
Its really amazing how much effort you guys put to get people into the hobby!! Love what you guys do!! :)
This channel needs to be a TV SHOW!!!
"building something that defeats the laws of gravity" Don't you mean "building something that perfectly abides the laws of gravity?" LOL :P
tripalong more like “obeys the laws of aerodynamics/physics” because gravity states that anything that has mass has an attraction, so I guess, technically the flite test guys were right 😆 but it made me think twice too!
touche
tripalong haha sorry I did not mean to get all “know it all” on you there 😆
Na, I get it. Makes total sense the way you explained it.
Grackle FPV Would the flitetest guys have really been right in saying that it “defied gravity”? Laws of aerodynamics/physics tend to be based on gravity anyway, and no matter the plane’s direction, gravity is acting upon it. Attraction most certainly does not equal movement, especially when a something like lift is counteracting it.
You should throw some shade toward the man - Burt Rutan. Burt built the full size, then Josh scaled it down to a chuck glider, then Alex modified it to RC. Awesome video, guys. Keep it up!
Great video. You guys make me smile. I wish nothing but good will onto you guys!
Congrats on 900k. Love you guys.
Wow! Fantastic job on the plans, guys! Very nicely done.
"A little bit more longer distance" - Alex
A family of over 900,000 great people! We sure are a big ole' happy family aren't we :D I love you all!
Love you:)
Great idea! I always have more fun if I build it and then fly it! Thanks for posting!
Great great design and do you know what is greater? It's how you making it easy and fun for others to indulge in some outdoor activities, flight test ... you rock!
Awesome! Absolutely going to build this one!
Sweet video you guys are awesome I had my local hobby store order the long-ez kit from you guys keep building them I'll keep buying them
I am so, sooooo ready for that A-10 video to come out.
Good to see a traditional FT video.
Dang it!!! Now I need an A pack and new batts. I love Flite Test!
Long - EZ ... still my fave after all these years... any size will do!! Aaaaaa'd baaaa that ferrrr a daaaallarrr!!
Looks like you guys got the RC version flying really well. I love that it can be built as a chucker or RC and that it's only one sheet of foam! Winner winner chicken dinner. Congrats Alex on your first RC airplane kit. Can't wait to build and fly one. What is the ETA on the new FT Radial motors?
Hey Dan, thanks for the plans on this! I made it with my 4-year old daughter as a chuck glider and she loves it!
Quick note on the plans though:
1. For the chuck glider option where the battery pack is not needed, I trimmed mine to cover the back of the fuselage to compete the look and not have an open area. An idea to add this (as a few blue/green lines on the battery pack) in a future amendment to the plans?
2. "Stabilizer" is spelt incorrectly! 😆
Love what you guys do! Keep it up!!!
Alex / JB - very Kool vid - hopefully this will spawn more new starters into the hobby. And globally we need more to be able to have a voice and keep flying.
Feet on the ground, heads to the sky.
This could be an amazing fpv platform! You won't have to worry about the propeller in the view, and, great for raceing!
Please make the A-10 a speed build kit! But if you don't you guys are still awesome, best RC company ever
We got the profile EAA glider at a airshow. Still can't believe how well it flies!
I love it! Sweet flying plane. Don't forget that balsa chuck gliders are also very easy to build and fly so well that even from a simple hand launch, they can float away out of sight in a thermal. Speaking of which, a balsa Long Ez would be epic!
I want one it flies beautifully
A return to Flitetest roots - excellent.
You guys are brilliant! Very inspiring!
COOLEST THNG I'VE SEEN ONLINE IN A LONG TIME!!!
R E A L L Y impressed!!!
you guys are so cool i wish roto riot did for fpv drones even just a little bit of what you guys do. this will be me and my sons next project. thank you
Cool. 6:30. I built a FT alpha as a chuck glider for a class i am teaching.
Sweet! I have plans for a vari viggen (another Burt Rutan design) so this’ll be an awesome addition!
I love all of your guys videos I want to get into this hobby
DANG I GOTTA WAIT 3 DAYS TO BUILD IT !!! WORTH THE WAIT... I LOVE FLITE TEST
Can't wait for the plans to be released!!!
Could you use the mini power pack in an about 1/32 scale Me 109 (16.5 in wingspan/ 14 in length/4 in height)?
You guys are so awesome! You saved my life with quarantine
Fantastic, guys! Really awesome! 😃
How difficult would it be to make a VTOL multirotor with holes cutout in the wings and mount motors on the canards with the same body with 2 servos, like the e-flite convergence, for a winged acro multirotor to FPV that can also GLIDE with perhaps servos on 2 channels to steer on a potentiometer! It looks to be 5" prop sized already!
Canard looks so awesome and sporty.
Bet that would make a good elastic band powered plane too!
Already bought mine yesterday!
Saw quite a few requests for interesting aircraft builds, any chance of other Rutan designs, like the Quickee. Would be a very unique challenge. Built one from a St Croix model kit and flies surprisingly well as long as the cg is on par.
When looking to make\buy first RC plane am I better going with a hand launched or with landing gear?
A possibly very good modification would be using KF airfoils for wings, canards and stabilizers. I will give it a try when I get some depron. Good job guys. I like what you are trying to do.
My respect goes to you guys are a motivation for a lot o peoples I'll be doing some projects with my kids
When I was in training for my Private Pilot's license, my instructor asked me, "What control actually turns the airplane?", I thought about it since that had never been covered in my training, after thinking about it for a few seconds I answered "The elevator" he responded absolutely right! The ailerons tilt the wings, then the application of elevator actually turns the plane.
I really REALLY RESPECT how MissionStatement kinda set video up and glad to hear it I will do what I can to Help complete that U DONT HEAR ENOUGH OF HOW THIS HOBBY CAN BE A FAMILY ACTIVEITY
You should use a 2 point y bridle and a tow line and tow the chuck glider up..
Wonder if the UMX A10 EDF setup would work? Might have to try
I absolutely love this stuff
I love y'all guys content/vlogs!! I'm a fpv quadcopter flyer & the more I watch y'all guys, & y'all keep coming out with cool easy/ready 2 build wings/planes; that I'm abt 2 get 1, too, lol, & have the best of both🌎 like u guys!!👍👊😜😎thanks & Always, H😀ppy flying Team Flight Test!!👍✈🚁🚀😀
900k subscribers! Congrats FT!
Its Sunday. Florence has arrived. I need these plans to keep me busy today =)
In the Netherlands, this brown FT foam board can be had for € 3, which is still an awesome deal!
What's the thickness of the foam board, looking at giving it a go and trying to source some (rural England) and not sure what thickness to go for.
Sweet. Someone with more knowledge than me (or you guys +FliteTest !) should design an EDF version with an intake on each side like the F4 phantom! Might be a simpler beginner EDF
I have looked everywhere, but can’t seem to find control rods (music wire) locally. Where do y’all get it?
Hi Josh, I'm looking to build the Long EZ and wasn't sure what the "A"-size and B-size meant? Maybe you could just expand a little on this. Also what size of paper should I be printing the plans? Thanks!!
Great video and idea i wonder how a RC glider version would handle a slope or high start/bungee launch
great little plane
That's really cool!
Do the main wings have an airfoil section? From the video angles it looked flat. If it is flat, how does it generate lift?
Love you guys. Thank you for this.
Oh wow. That is so neat. Rutan stuff is amazing.
Quick question, why do you opt for 2 servos for ealorons and not one servo with long push rods
Love this channel! Totally new to RC. My ultimate goal is to use FVP to explore the woods. What would be the best thing for that?
You Guys should try to make an RC airplane that has NO CONTROL SURFACES and just flies off of weight shift in side the fuselage/wing roots.
totally new to the hobby, curious what you're wearing when you fly the plane?
You guys are awesome, I love your videos
what is the smallest you can go with RC foam bored models ?
what other necassary electronics are not included in the power packs?
I have a question: how do you guys do the brains and stuff, I really want to biuld my own plane but I don't know how to control it with a remote control. I have all the cervos and motor and battery but can't control it all. PLEASE HELP.
I love this design!!!
Hey josh, so I have a out dated phantom 2. It’s not worth anything considering now DJI has the Mavic that I use now. I’ve been looking into making it into an airplane of some sort. I have old helicopters with radio and receivers. Have y’all ever had any ideas on this. Thx bud
If I wanted to make the RC version what kind of remote do I need?
Congrats on 900K!
It g7h7gybyvy
I'm a complete newbie, so bare with me! I have access to a laser machine where I work, but I can only run metals. Do you think that if I were to take one of your plans and run it on my machine in thin aluminum, it would fly? My thinking is that all your plans work with cardboard because of how light it is. If I were to try doing the same plan but in aluminum, would it be too heavy for the wings to create enough lift and just fall like a brick?. Would I have to tweak the plans for it to work or is this just a dum idea?
