I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, I don't care what ANYBODY says, no guitar has a better “feel it in your BONES” deep tone than the Les Paul.
An American asked "Why are the audience so quiet?" I answered that "This isn't America's got talent, Europeans like to hear an artist rather that clapping and whooping every minute."
People talk smack about Bonamassa but it's clear to me Joe is one of the best players ever. I've been playing almost 60 years now and can hold my own any place. Joe Bonamassa is pure gold as a Blues player. Pure heart, pure tone and a living legend
Ive played over 40 myself. JB is definitely in a league most never play in, myself included. I find it hard to imagine anyone knowing how to play being critical. This is blues but in no way is this even close to encompassing what this man can do.

You should type in Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart in the search box. Their performance of I'd Rather Go Blind live in Amsterdam is really, really something to see. 26 million views.
He already reacted to Beth and Joe 'I'd Rather Go Blind'. Either he doesn't realize Joe Bonamassa is the guitarist in both the videos he reacted to or, he reacted to this one earlier and uploaded it later. A lot of these YT content creators do that. Post something on another platform then post it here later on.
He has been guitarist of the year like 3 times, not underrated , it is just people do not listen to much blues today. Definately top 10 in the world today.
Joe is arguably the best blues guitarist playing now. Once you listen to more of his playing you realize none of the annoying fret slide noises are evident, his timing is impeccable and he happily shares the stage with far better vocalists like Beth Hart. You need to dive deeper into this guy.
Edward… Joe is right there, I hear you. Just try Kenny Wayne Sheppard. Same age, same influences, same timeline of recognition. I know Kenny doesn’t sing as much but give “Blue on Black”, “Aberdeen” and “The House is a Rockin “. “House” is a bit longer than the original by SRV (which I enjoy) but also has Chris Layton on drums.
Just saw Joe for the third time at our Byron Bay Bluesfest (Aus) and he is just the boss 👌 amaaaaazing tone, great and improving voice plus the best blues guitar face around 😆 sooooo gooood
I love how you turn your head like a dog hearing something intriguing when he starts to shred it, and when he starts to sing ! 😂 Joe is a master of the blues. Seen him live and it is an experience not a concert.
Joe is a true prodigy. He began his professional career at the age of 12, opening for B.B. King. He may be the best living blues guitarist performing today. I have seen him live several times, and I swear he gets better every time. I'm looking forward to seeing him again in November.
JB is surrounded by talent - the drummer, the horn section, the keyboardist - all add layers of tone and inflection to make this an excellent performance. His duet with Beth Hart on Id rather Go Blind, the Etta James cover, highlights the talent of all the players on stage
So glad you’ve finally gotten the opportunity to listen to one of the greatest blues guitar players ever! I’m a huge SRV fan & always will be, but Joe is in another world. His bands are amazing, his arrangements very stylistic, but completely original. Listen to more and your decision will be made easier and this is coming from a Fender guy for over 40 years.
Yes, go see him! His music will vibrate from the toes to your head then your body starts moving with every note. I have seen him 9 times and it is moving! He is the best. Love you Joe. Be true to yourself!
Joe is the best blues guitarist alive today and to be honest, one of the best to ever lay it down. This dude doesn't have a bad song. He is just AH MAZIN'!!!
Joe has been practicing guitar for hours every day since he was 10. I've never heard him hit a bad note at a live show. Insanely talented. Binge watch him and blow your mind.
I had the distinct pleasure and privilege of seeing him just once in concert. Of course he's extremely talented, having had amazing skills from a young age, but his showmanship and 110% effort just blew me away. Dressed to the nines, but getting down and dirty and sweaty and giving it his all. It's like a gift to the audience
Just heard him in November, was completely blown away!! World class musician and vocalist!! His band is full of award winning musicians on top of his talents!! Must see!!! I will absolutely see him a second time!!
This is the first time Joe played the Royal Albert hall. It was a special night and Joe and the band played really special. I've seen it loads of times now. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Yeah, me too! Joe was so filled with excitement that it rubbed off on his music, on us, and on the world! And that's just the DVD and videos that I've seen. I can only imagine what it must have been like to have actually been there. My most favorite concert of all time‼
Smokin' Joe hooked me the first time I heard him. Been a fan ever since. This concert was spectacular. His voice keeps getting better with age. He always has the best musicians backing him up.
My BF told me about Joe and I've never come down out of the clouds. Seen him live several times. He's horrifically underrated. The man's a star. And his foundation for assisting up and coming blues artists is phenomenal.
Saw Joe at the Federal Theater in Phoenix a few months ago. Tickets said "show starts promptly at 8PM" and they weren't kidding. At exactly 7:59:59 the stage lit up and Joe came out on fire with his guitar! It was an amazing show start to finish. In my opinion Joe is one of the best guitar platers of all time and he also has an unexpectedly great blues voice. One of my all-time favorites, plan to see him every chance I get.
I second Jody Roland’s suggestion of Joe performing Goin’ Down, live at the Greek theater, with Reese Wynans (from SRV’s band) smoking the keyboards, Anton Fig on drums and one of the backup singers is Mahalia Barnes (who should have won her season of The Voice Australia) and is the daughter of the great Australian singer Jimmy Barnes.
Also at the Greek Theatre, Joe's interpretation of Leon Russell's "Hummingbird".....incredible! I absolutely *_LOVE_* it! ❤ And the backup singers there...just WOW! Fire personified! 💥🔥💥🔥🔥
I've been waiting on this. Joe was opening for BB King at the age of 12 . He's one of my top 3 guitarist and this is just one reason why . And Double crossing time Live is one of the greatest performances I've ever seen anyone do .
@@g4joe will do! The latest guitar virtuoso I @discovered for myself is Nuno Bettancourt. YOUZA He’s like Van Halen reborn. Plays with the band Extreme, whom I’d never heard of. You know him?
Joe is definitely my favorite blues guitarist (after SRV). I agree with an earlier commenter that Going Down from Live At The Greek Theater would be an excellent next listen - not only do you get to hear Joe, you get to hear SRV's former keyboardist Reese Wynans tickle the hell out of ivory as only he can.
Have you checked out Jackie Venson? Up and coming Texas blues singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. She has appeared with Joe Bonamassa on a Blues Cruise. She's unique and very talented, winning multiple Austin Music Awards, including Best Guitarist.
His whole performance at the Royal Albert Hall is well worth listening to. I think it was BB King who was his idol and was his motivation to start guitar and blues.
Joe's concert at The Royal Albert Hall is a must watch (it's kind of a documentary too), which is where this was from. Every single song he performs there is a banger.
Yes, he's married to that guitar! Tone is so much more important than the number of notes per second! I've seen them all, including Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, and Albert King, and it is their tone that still reverberates in my old soul!
You life will definitely change if your a guitar player after you here Joe Bonamassa. I grew up in the same upstate New York town of Utica as him and I finally was not embarrassed to be from there.
Joe is one of the best to ever do it. I've seen him live several times now including at Red Rock, he's a true professional with some of the tightest players and performers surrounding him. Such a clean and immaculate show every time.
We discovered Joe during the PBS Begathon, when they show the really good stuff. He sat on stage in a half-circle of his guitars and .... we discovered different guitars have different tones.
Joe is awesome! Never heard him until a friend said we needed to see him in concert about 4 years ago. Amazing playing. Seeing him at Red Rocks in August - can’t wait. Joe Bonamassa and Buckethead are 2 of the most underrated guitarists of all times!!!
Man Sebs, you have got to dive deep into Joe. Not only reacting though because the dude’s catalog is Massive! You are not going to believe what you find. SRV is still the GOAT for me but Joe is closer than any one else. I have been blessed with seeing him live 3 times and he is never short of awe inspiring. Hopefully before I die I will get to see one of the shows that he does with Beth Hart. I think I could happily give up concerts for good if I could see them together. One of Joe’s taglines is “always on the road” and he just about is. Not only does he tour with his own show but also has 2 or 3 side projects. The band KISS used to be the kings of merchandising but Joe blew past them years ago. I usually can point to a favorite song or two by any artist. With Joe, I would have to give you a list of like 20 favorites. I will stop ranting now. Just dive off into the rabbit hole but strap In brother cause it’s gonna be a long and amazing ride! 😎🤘🏻
Yes, like you, I can't come up with only one favorite song of Joe's, because there are so darned many.😄 One that I love, but rarely hear mentioned, is his guitar solo and vocal duet with John Hiatt in "Down Around My Place" at the Beacon Theatre....spine tingling! And Joe comes out with *GREAT* new stuff all the time!
I was there! Did anyone tell ya that the original is a Jeff Beck tune from 1968 ish. Rod Stewart on vocals and Ron Wood on bass. Worth a listen...this version is a bit special , mind!
Have seen Joe twice now. Seeing him again this August in Vegas. Check out happier times live at the Royal Albert hall. Also the same drummers ( Boggie Bowls & Anton Fig) in the concert video. It will give you chills 👍🏽
I’ve been a huge fan of Joe Bonamassa, and I’m trying to collect all his recordings on vinyl! I’m glad you had the opportunity to hear and feel the Joe Bonamassa experience. He’s a huge influence along with BB, King Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and many others look deep into his recordings and enjoy!
Been a fan for years but this is single-handedly my favorite song from him and my favorite performance of this song. He used two drummers for the Royal Albert Hall Show that he did in this video. If you haven't seen the whole DVD check out his performance of further on up the road from this show with Eric Clapton joining him the soloing back and forth between those two is just incredible.
Joe’s 2009 Royal Albert Hall concert is my most favorite concert of all time! I loved his guitar skills; his perfect, though less polished, vocal skills; and his youthful, exuberant enthusiasm at that concert. Joe’s music turned my life around from that of depression to that of joy! ❤ I love Joe.
I love Beth and Joe playing together. What a great duo, wish we had more of them. Please check out “I’ll Take Care Of You” performed at the same concert in Amsterdam
Anton Fig and his son on drums ! classic ! Joes father owned and operated a guitar shop. He grew up in the atmosphere of classic Gibsons and Fenders - Of which Joe has one of the worlds stellar collections.
Joe puts on a whale of a show. I've seen him three times. Amazing! All star band with him, his backup singers are phenomenal. You get a chance to see him, GO!
You need to watch the entire royal Albert hall video to see why. But they were his session drummers through his career and decided they both deserved a place at the Royal Albert Hall concert. Respect ❤❤❤❤❤
His parents own a guitar shop in NJ. Fast soulful and a good singer. Had the pleasure of seeing him a few times. His guitar collection is unbeatable look it up NUTS!
Nice your wife stumbled upon Joe B when listening to Chris S. Bonamassa is the guy Chris dreams of 👍🏼😃. A straight line is Hendrix-Vaughn- Bonamassa. Noone beats him today at blues. Also listen to his more heavy band Black country communion 👍🏼🤘🏻🙏.
That line up with Joe was my favourite, the rapport between Joe, Carmine, Rick and Bogie was amazing, saw them together 4 times, all small venues, fabulous 😊😊❤
I saw him live last week for the first.. twice in one week and I can say with confidence it was by far the best concert I have ever seen.. the amount of talent on stage was mind-blowing and not just from Joe
Joe is very particular about his guitar tone through the vintage equipment he actually tours and plays with. If I had to buy my first guitar today I would buy an early 1990's used Fender Telecaster.
Joe is a Master Class guitarists and his Gibsons have the greatest tone you’ll ever hear. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live in Greenville, SC and Raleigh Durham, NC and he has one of the greatest live concerts you’ll ever attend and yes he’s a great guitarist and has a great personality.
Sebs, I suggest that you watch this whole concert. Heck, just by the album from this concert. Guitar legend and singer, Eric Clapton makes an appearance and plays a couple of songs with Joe at this venue.
Bro how just getting around to ppl. Like This guy Joe B. Absolutely one of the best blues men of all times, up there with the rest of the blues legends...Yeah Joe is the man when he performing....Very passionate..
It's actually astonishing to me that people can and still do listen and enjoy performances that are from decades in the past like this one from Dire Straights. I think about growing up through high school in the late 60s and I promise you most of us were only peripherally aware of music from the 30s, who performed it, and so on.
I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, I don't care what ANYBODY says, no guitar has a better “feel it in your BONES” deep tone than the Les Paul.
He did help start rock.
A Les Paul combined with a Stratocaster is a magic combination.
Only when played by somebody who knows how to use it I hate Gibson's else Paul's but I love listening to Joe bonamassa
You may be on to something here.
Pick ups and Amps make the sound. for me Les Pauls are over priced by a mile.
An American asked "Why are the audience so quiet?" I answered that "This isn't America's got talent, Europeans like to hear an artist rather that clapping and whooping every minute."
Yes I agree these folks are being entertained
Joe is a fantastic talent. He could play better at age twelve than most of us will ever be able to imagine.
Tell 'm bro
I understand that guitar cost him a quarter of a million dollars
Joe's audiences for the most part of his shows are seated and quiet.
People talk smack about Bonamassa but it's clear to me Joe is one of the best players ever. I've been playing almost 60 years now and can hold my own any place. Joe Bonamassa is pure gold as a Blues player.

Joe is great but….Beth is ridiculous. Her voice was made for the blues.
You know your good when Eric Clapton says your the greatest guitarist alive today. What a resounding endorsement from one of the best.
"Clapton is God" then what does that make Mighty Big Joe? ❤🤘

Another Joe Bonamassa favorite is his performance with Black Country Communion in their cover of Burn by Deep Purple. Epic performance.
I've seen JB live twice, and I'll see him again in March. The man is just amazing.
After 10 years I finally got to see him the day after thanksgiving in '22... Got tickets for November 12th😊❤
That sound! So soulful AND a great voice. Not too many people can play like that, for sure.
That was the first reaction drool I've ever seen! 🤤😂 Great job as always brother! 🎸
He makes that Les Paul cry and scream . The tone is perfection! Live he has stacks of giant Marshals and it is deafening but oh so amazing!
He uses twins now
Love Joe's music. I have seen him live once. He played an hour of acoustic and an hour of electric guitar and Kenny Wayne Shepard opened for him.
Royal Albert Hall was a killer performance , a must see beginning to end. Why 2 drummers you ask .... Highwater everywhere, wow.
His concerts at Red Rocks in Colorado with those acoustics is off the charts.
One of best concerts I’ve ever attended in 2015 Seeing him again this August. If you get a chance, SEE HIM. His shows are amazing.
Anton Fig and his son on drums ! classic ! Joes father owned and operated a guitar shop. He grew up in the atmosphere of classic Gibsons and Fenders - Of which Joe has one of the worlds stellar collections.
anton fig & boogie bowels on drums
Joe puts on a whale of a show. I've seen him three times. Amazing! All star band with him, his backup singers are phenomenal. You get a chance to see him, GO!
I just missed him locally. Kicking myself.
You need to watch the entire royal Albert hall video to see why. But they were his session drummers through his career and decided they both deserved a place at the Royal Albert Hall concert. Respect ❤❤❤❤❤
Joe Bonamassa is one of the greatest guitarist ever. Lots of content for you to explore!! On my Bucket List to see him live.....great reaction, Sebs!
I've seen him twice in concert and both times were so amazing. When Joe was 12 he opened for the late B B King. Joe is truly one of the greats.
Best concert I’ve ever been to.
His parents own a guitar shop in NJ. Fast soulful and a good singer. Had the pleasure of seeing him a few times. His guitar collection is unbeatable look it up NUTS!
I've seen him live 3 times. He's just phenomenal!
Joe, is one of the busiest musicians around he is always doing tours and then he does shows on cruise ships called keeping the blues alive,
I saw him live last week for the first.. twice in one week and I can say with confidence it was by far the best concert I have ever seen.. the amount of talent on stage was mind-blowing and not just from Joe
You’ve got to see him when he was 12 years old!
Ive been to see him 5 times now- mind blowing each time
Sebs, I suggest that you watch this whole concert.
I am astonished about all the attention Joe as been getting while Gary Moore is never mentioned...tone, phrasing, speed and emotion.RIP.
Joe has praised Gary in many interviews.
It's actually astonishing to me that people can and still do listen and enjoy performances that are from decades in the past like this one from Dire Straights. I think about growing up through high school in the late 60s and I promise you most of us were only peripherally aware of music from the 30s, who performed it, and so on.
Most people never listened to blues except through its rock transformation in the 70’s and would never have known about the illustrious Gary Moore RIP
