I really feel your pain Angus. I had some dew spots on the sensor glass of my ASI533MC Pro. Thirty-six iterations. It took thirty-six tries to get the sensor glass cleaned over 8 days. I sort of felt like the the wrecker of nice things too. These things test our commitment as well as our nerves. Hang in there sir, there’s a reward for the patience. Nice image of M31 Angus!
Great vid man keep going, one question I live in bortle 8/9 as well and can't seem to image m31 that well (don't have a filter). What broadband filter did you use and what would you recommend? Thx in advance it means a lot.
Assuming you took flats both before and after cleaning you should be able to use all the data you shot. PixInsight's WBPP script allows you to use grouping keywords to associate one set of flats (or any calibration frames) with one set of lights and another set of flats with a different set of lights. All you need do is add a keyword, like "_SESSION_[DATE]_", to the file names, then enter that keyword into the grouping keywords box in WBPP. The script will then calibrate each set of frames separately and then align and integrate the sets together. It is probably worth going back and reprocessing the data so you can use all those hours you spent.
“They call me ‘The Wrecker of Things’ because I wreck things.” - Angus probably Here is one reason to keep doing what you’re doing; because there are many, many, others in Bortle 9 areas (and lower, 6.7 here myself) that need the ability to compare your results against our own to know we are capturing and processing our light polluted data correctly. Just like I can’t compare my images to Trevor’s (because he has years of experiences compared to my four months) I can’t compare my images to what someone living in a Bortle 3 has been able to capture, but I can get a good idea of what to expect myself by looking at the images from folks like you and Cuiv in Bortle 9 areas. I would try to stress less about cranking out videos (just for the sake of having content) and focus on the fun of it. This is a hobby after all. Astrophotography is definitely a struggle but we are all here to help each other along. Keep a positive mental attitude Angus and clear skies! #PMA

The real question that noone seem to be asking is, how many goats did you have to sacrifice to be able to get that many hours of clear skies? I've had a total of 2 hours (combined) since mid-september. The AP-withdrawals are real.
Lol, please no animal sacrifice in my name. Hahaha. In the Bay Area, our winters are generally favorable for astrophotography if you ignore the horrible light pollution. Because it will either rain or the skies would be clear. It's the rest of the year where we need to deal with relentless clouds and fog.

Which SkyWatcher mount do you use and do you like it?

I cut down 2 in my backyard
I had to cut one down and trim another one in half just to make polar alignment quicker. A tornado took down most of the others...
