Hey, Trevor. You know, you're on the verge of being ready to write a book. It won't make you rich, of course, but you should consider it. A labor of love, if you will. In the meantime, keep up the great work and we'll all look forward to your next video installment. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I took Astronomy 101 in college and loved it! we got to use the college's big a** telescope during the semester. That was years ago. I recently got an itch to get back into this stuff (I do photography on the side). but these equipment prizes got me shook lol
Yes Trevor….Decon in Pixinsight made a big difference on my images….particularly on the star clusters where the Center of the cluster would otherwise look too “soft”.
Hey Trevor! My friend, you, Ash and Rudy have come so so far during these last few years, and it's beautiful to see! Have a great Christmas and new year and we all look forward to what '22 brings for your amazing channel your family and journey! Thanks! Wes, Liverpool UK.
@@BlackBarackObama Hi Nicky! please forgive me, but what does "Steve" mean my friend ? ( I really hope it's not something glaringly obvious and I look stupid!!?? LOL )
Those images are beautiful that’s amazing. For those who can afford the equipment, I say go for it and hope they get great shots. I love looking at the heavens so gorgeous.
Another great vid Trevor 🙏🏻 Your videos and website got me into deep space photography. Loving falling down the black hole. So thank you, appreciate you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You were my predominant inspiration to do this hobby from Milwaukee Wisconsin USA (same latitude as you) and bordel 8, with camera lenses, and star adventurer. You as so many pulled away with big $$ gear. Chucks Astro, and TAIC. I envy, but also enjoy simple.
I'm ordering an ASI1600 MM Pro with filter wheel and filters this week. Although not as good as the asi2600MM, it's still a very good choice if you don't have the extra 1000 dollars. Leaving in a Bortle 9 zone just forces me to do what is considered "advanced" - shoot narrow-band monochrome- as I have no other choice unless I want to be heavily frustrated. Watching Trevor's videos gave me a lot of hints about what equipment to choose, keep up the good work and clear skies.
That Iris was beautiful! Makes me want to get the new redcat. Did you use a filter on the Iris? I have heard the best way to capture and bring out the dust is to not use filters. Not sure if that is true or not.
I started shooting narrowband in novemeber for the first time with my 183 mc pro using the IDAS NBZ dual band filter. What a dream it is to play with narrowband data.
Thanks for your advise and description of your setup. Very new to Astro and are just sticking to the four close galaxies with my d5600 DSLR Glad I just discovered your, you are going to be a guiding light for me thanks in advance.
I enjoyed this video. I appreciate how you highlight the strengths of the different set-ups. I have a C8 Edge, and a Spacecat 51 and use them in similar fashion as what you described for planets, galaxies, nebulas, wide-field. I use OSC CMOS cameras. But your results with mono + filters make me wonder if I should do the jump. Thank you for sharing your insight. I've followed your progression for the past couple of years, and it's simply amazing!
Great video, thank you very much! I'm actually thinking on buying a Newton 150/750 to enjoy both astrophotography and visual with my 9 yr old kid with a neq5 goto mount. What do you think about it as a first gear? I intend to shoot with my Olympus OM10-III. Is the x2 crop factor going to be a problem? Thanks again! 👍

I find your videos really useful and appreciate what you do. I am, however, limited to making the most of what I have ,, a skywatcher 200pds, HEQ5 Pro, ASI1600 MM Pro, ZWO filter wheels and EAF. Hi Trevor, really liked your review of the Redcat 71. With William Optics currently selling two 71mm refractors primarily for astrophotography, namely the GT 71 & the Redcat, it would be interesting to do a side by side comparison. Hi Trevor! Thanks a lot for all the amazing videos and and stunning photos! I always loved the night sky. But in my Bortle 7-8 area there is unfortunately not much to see. Anyway... your videos and the tips and tricks that you are sharing made me to give astrophotography a try. Last week I have purchased my first EQ mount. Excellent images. I am just getting back into AP after a long absence and just beginning to get my feet wet with CMOS after only having done CCD for a long time. Hi there. Just a question. When doing the Post Processing, say via Photoshop, how did you determine what the actual colour of the object looks, or should be. Do you reference Hubble, or other Astro photo's taken, or just make them look good, irrespective of what the actual colours are? Where would one actually find a True Colour refernce of the ojects, if such exists? This would then aid the new Astro Photographers, as to how to and to what Colours they need to adjust in their Post Processing. Many thanx.
Hi Trevor, great video as always. Can you tell me which handle you have on the ESPRIT100 seen at 1:25? I also have the ESPRIT100 after seeing your videos and would like to get a similar handle for easy transportation. Thanks!

Trevor, seeing the absolutely stunning things you pull out of the sky always reminds me why I got into this hobby in the first place. We're artists and we paint the sky with pixels. Keep doing everything you do, man. I hope your holiday is awesome, and we'll see you in the new year!
Hey Trevor love your work so inspired by you currently working on the crab nebula and will be following up with the horsehead nebula for the first time ever 👍👍
Been watching and been inspired by these videos almost from the start 5 years ago. I follow lots of others like Chuck, Wido, Nico, Dylan and many others. Love what they do, learn techniques, review gear, see beautiful pictures. When I see your video Oh, my goodness I so want get out there and image! Your love of the hobby is so infectious that I know when a new video comes out I’m going to loosing sleep again, Yeah! Keep us inspired and even nudged along a bit in our learning curves. Happy Christmas to all three of you.
Hi Trevor, I'm looking into buying a new camere i'm inetersted in 3 cameras: All 3 are altair hypercams the 183C, 294C or 269C ... which one is best voor short-exposures imaging because i live in a heavy light poluted region and will use a LPR filter
So, as far as I am a beginner in astrophotography, do I understood it right, that you shoot deep sky objects from a light polluted backyard with light pollution filters? That means I could also take Deep Sky pictures from my backyard with the right filters? And it is not necessary to drive hours to shoot in an area without or less light pollution? But man I love the vids you do.
Hey Trevor, an honest question.. How do you afford these expensive setups? Do you have a secondary income? May be a video about this aspect would be great if anybody wants to make this as a full time career.
Is there any filtration you would suggest for DSLR based astro imaging with standard SLR lenses (such as the 17-35 Tamron & the Nikkor 70-200 2.8)? Thanks very much !
Trevor, your video are always amazing! I'm a beginner and I have a quick question: Can I stack lights from 2 different cameras (using the same focal length)? I have a 500D modified and a 2000D stck. I would like to take a picture of the orion nebula and enhance the reds with my mod camera but I'm not sure how to deal with the different sensor sizes and calibration frames. Any suggestion?
Trevor, I'm calculating the Image Scale with my setup using the 2600mm. However, when I look up the Pixel Size for the 2600mm I see it to be 3.76um but you list it in this video as 5.34. Am I missing something? Thanks for all the help. You're the best.
Hey, Trevor. You know, you're on the verge of being ready to write a book. It won't make you rich, of course, but you should consider it. A labor of love, if you will. That means I could also take Deep Sky pictures from my backyard with the right filters? And it is not necessary to drive hours to shoot in an area without or less light pollution? But man I love the vids you do.
Great content. I'm sure this is a stupid question but to do a 7 hour exposure what tracking mechanism do you use?
Just subbed, great video, great channel.
Curious, thoughts on Starlink?
Not sure if you mentioned but did you use any filters on the iris image ?
Hey Trevor, an honest question.. How do you afford these expensive setups? Do you have a secondary income? May be a video about this aspect would be great if anybody wants to make this as a full time career.
Hi Trevor.. for your planetary image with the 426MC, did you use an IR cut filter?
Hey Trevor any tips for a beginner with a cannon eos Rebel T7 and a star tracker with 75.300 mm lens
Magnifique ❤
I just want to say: Thank You
Is there any filtration you would suggest for DSLR based astro imaging with standard SLR lenses (such as the 17-35 Tamron & the Nikkor 70-200 2.8)? Thanks very much !
Trevor, your video are always amazing! I'm a beginner and I have a quick question: Can I stack lights from 2 different cameras (using the same focal length)? I have a 500D modified and a 2000D stck. I would like to take a picture of the orion nebula and enhance the reds with my mod camera but I'm not sure how to deal with the different sensor sizes and calibration frames. Any suggestion?
I read so many Reddit stuff on this that I just got more confused. I don't even know if it is possible
@@kurtgodel100legit9 I also read something, many say it is possible but not HOW
Hello Trevor. I intend to buy a Omegon 254/1016mm Pro astrograph. Which mono camera do you suggest?
Trevor, I'm calculating the Image Scale with my setup using the 2600mm. However, when I look up the Pixel Size for the 2600mm I see it to be 3.76um but you list it in this video as 5.34. Am I missing something? Thanks for all the help. You're the best.
