- Shocking video shows a Utah church youth group getting struck by lightning. Peyton Bailey filmed the dramatic brush with death. "I fell over to the ground and I got back up and I could see that some people were not getting up," the 14-year-old says. Jacob Johnson looked lifeless on the ground when the strike knocked the teen unconscious. "I just remember a large explosion, my head really hurt and I blacked out and I don't remember much until I woke up on the ground there," says Johnson.
Being out in open ground in a thunderstorm is dangerous. being ankle deep in mud , I imagine, makes the odds even worse.
God punishing them for their sins
If you’re holding hands with someone you won’t be harmed because when the lightning strikes you it will travel through you to the other person and exit that person if that makes sense.

🤷🏻Yep that’s exactly how I remembered when it happened to me as a 10 year old in Dallas,Texas luckily I was only knocked to the ground and wasn’t hurt badly. I remember seeing the bright light above me and in front of me. I was shaken up after I was knocked to the ground after picking myself up I limped back home barefoot almost crying.🥺

Oh my gosh! I live in Utah and was also at a youth conference over the weekend. We were absolutely surrounded by lightning when I heard about this. So scary
