- A revolutionary Modular Flying Car by Xpeng AeroHT has made its public debut offering ground and air modules at the same time. This means you can travel 620 miles or 1000 km on the road and if there is a necessity to overcome, for example, congestion you can switch to flying mode by automatically deploying the eVTOL that's sitting in the rear of the vehicle.
Interview at the end of the video with Tan Wang:
Co-founder and Vice President of Xpeng AeroHT
This is a Modular Flying Car which means, it has a Car module and a Flying module combined that detach and reconnect autonomously
I think airbus should copy the parachute module in aeroplane that would be greatly safe
@@oracleman7913they would never do that as the extra weight would cost a lot for the airline companies to carry those heavy parachutes. That means more pollution, more fuel consumption, and less profit for the companies. So they don’t care about people dying 1 in a million. But I agree, it would feel much safer to travel in a plain that is secure.
@@gagikbarseghyan5315 they could add the cost to the passengers that wishes to travel with such aeroplane.
@oracleman7913 I guess you mean rich people as the huge parachute size to aircraft weight ratio means only rich people could afford the flights. It takes 4 parachutes just to land this little thing.
@@oracleman7913it would cost a lot. And not only that, because of the weight the aircraft would carry 20-30% less passengers. Anyway, I hope one day that will come true when aircrafts will have parachutes and it will be safer for everyone
Yeah that's what we need. People that can barely drive flying around 'without having to know how to fly'
Auto pilot. Im more interested in how you would get in from in the van
Flying cars will never get mainstream due to safety regulations.
Pure idiocy.
wrr
Push innovation, and let regulators regulate how it'll be done. Otherwise if we're too afraid of pushing innovation, then we won't get off this rock or colonise planets. Here on earth its too crowded, sure. But maybe it can be used on mars or other lower-gravity bodies with sufficient air. Conquer the hardships here so the future can be easier and reachable.
So NOT a flying car but a small heavy van with a drone in the back
Yeah because we are right now don't have technology to fly without propeller or heavy and dirty jet engine!
@GhSider I think OP's point is that the YT title is misleading. There's no flying modular car in this video, just an oversized drone in the back of a van.
@@fonz2002 but it's modular right? Yeah it's a car/van that have wheels to run in asphalt and you can detached their module to flying out. I know it's don't look cool and so innovative but this can being implemented into real life.
@@GhSider as Fonz says, the RUclips title is misleading because it says flying car, this is neither, it’s a van with a drone in the back. There are companies in china and others that have actually made a car that flies, they have wings or props that fold out to facilitate its ability to fly BUT they are attached to the car, meaning it’s the car you drive that actually flies, with this you drive the van, stop, get out and pull a drone out of the rear, get in the drone and fly that while you still have to return to the same location because that’s where the van is still parked.
The idea of a flying car is to be able to leave home in the morning, if traffic is bad simply deploy the wings and propellers, take off and fly to your destination, land, fold in the flight gear and drive the rest of the way to the office or whatever, not leave half of the vehicle behind losing the driving part completely if you have to land somewhere different than where you took off.
@@GhSiderthe answer is in plasma
Flying car or a van loaded with an helicopter. 😊
😂
A good start to the next evolution of travel
I want one.
Why? The purpose of these vehicles is to transport people, and that's a very bad idea.
Me too imagine dropping at school with this
Sold ,Where do I send a deposit, lol
That was my childhood dream 😂
Dream old are now are real
NIKOLA of FLYING VEHICLE
Impressive showing,I'd take the van minus the drone, also am imagining it as a truck🤔,would be sick!!!! n sleek😍😍😍😍
I'll take the van over the drone! Can I just buy the van!
Would you like to have one? The price is yet to be revealed but the Ground and Air modules combined will be more than $140,000 in local market.
Thats a really good price actually
You could buy an EV for that much. 😆
@@RoscoesRiffs I'm a flying nut though
$140k is the X2, a larger EVTOL. The carrier plus drone is $270k-ish.
What is Tesla expensive car cost
China beat usa by very high margin, and this gap will increase every month
It would be nice to have a trailer option too. An option for it to be towed like a boat, the space in the car can be used as a normal SUV.
Meet George Jetson!
Loved that show😂
I bet it flies 10 miles at best.
The main problem with all battery powered flying vehicles is that the max flight time is about 25 minutes. Until that problem is solved electric flying vehicles will just be a toy for the rich.
"To avoid congestion"
Yes lets leave our car in the middle of congestion and fly to our destination which is more than likely congested and does not have a helipad.
The only time I see this being used is camping where you can fly around, but with limited charging I doubt thatll be an option
Flying car? Looks like a minivan with a modified helicopter.
In short, a drone carrier.
also, what if you're driving alone and need to fly over congestion and then go back on the road? not like the fake cybertruck can autodrive to the drone's location. literally pointless. also uses fuel. yay humanity.
You can search for a safe place out of the road which are big enough for the car and the drone to get in and out and manuver and fly. There is NO ROAD in any country that let you do whatever you like even if you just use regular common car.
The negativity, my gosh.
Trains have capsules that are called cars. But they don't drive on roads or do what cars do aside from wheels. I think a car can be a capsule. Also also, atleast these guys are pushing on innovation instead of complaining comfortably on their couch.
What they want does not exist.
If you want a flying car like in Back to the Future, I hate to break it to you, but that was a movie. If it's gonna fly with today's technology it's gonna have propellers or wings. So they will go: 'ahmagawd it's just a drone!' or 'ahmagawd it's just a plane!'
And since fiction is all we have to go by: Fifth Element had flying cars with out wheels, so did Star Wars.
"When it's time to switch to flying mode"... here in the states, the FAA will never allow mass low altitude flying cars... NEVER!
They just complicating it all 🤣🤣😇😇
It's a good
concept but the reality is America and the world
is entering into a recession and disposable income will become tight mpre so at $140,000 it may not get the customer damand required to keep the company running year round. The 2nd thing to consider is the flying module will require aviation inspections and after 10 years the ground module will age to the point where regular maintainance will be required. This could be costly to the customer, what kind of customer service and guarentees will you offer?
@Index-o1234 It's a terrible concept. There's a reason helicopter rotors are well above head level.
The FAA " May I have a word with you?"
It flies in the same way bricks don’t.
😂😆
Not flying car, just another flying helicopter drone.
10 times cheaper than a helicopter tho
Yes, that's exactly what the world needs: a flying car made in China. Granted, I wouldn't put much faith in this concept from Tesla or Boeing either.
With Technology Everything seems to be possible. That's completely Wonderful and amazing 👋 #thanksForTechnology
So... not a flying car, a truck that carries a quadcopter. Looks cool but it's mostly an animation, not anything real.
This would be cool when overlanding in Iceland ..
Flying vehicles? My country Nigeria can't even construct roads... wow. Wish I was over there
It's a van... that holds a helicopter.. not a flying car.. "we ares stuck in traffic time to stop in the middle of the road deploy the helicopter and leave our car here blocking traffic"
The way it flies is disgusting Not like that glider in the Spider Man movie.
Feels like they'll put you anywhere. A mach 10 jet, A super Carerra, fly through fog on a helicopter, COVID-19, & a carbon fiber submarine.
It's a cross between the Aliens Colonial Marines APC and some truck in a 1980s TV Show. 😎
i think there's been many 'worlds first flying' bullshit and we're fed up! which one is really first?
I was thinking truck was going to transform into a flying car. 1980's MASK cartoon
This is a ridiculous idea that can only have a rescue potential within a short range. On the other hand that also won't work too well because before you actually rescue someone you have to find them therefore its always "search and rescue". The search part can take anywhere from minutes to hours to days. This thing will run out of juice and crash doing any kind of serious search. Besides that, the parachute system is a joke. Every helicopter pilot knows that there is a 400 foot deadman zone where a helicopter doesn't have enough altitude to autorotate and parachutes don't have enough time to open. The only way is a zero/zero parachute system. But that would require a catapult like you have on military jets which are heavy and bulky systems. This is more like a recreational sight seeing toy for the rich. But you would always need 1 pilot and 1 driver if you want to go somewhere. Otherwise you can only fly and comeback to the same spot. Another problem are those unshrouded propellers. A flying guillotine! Designed in China where they never have a care for people's safety. When I lived there I saw paramotors casually flying through the city in between buildings. A gust of wind could have slammed them into a building followed by a crash down below killing people on board and the ones on the street. But it's China and nobody cares. So now I'm supposed to trust this contraption? Let's recall the infamous "Made in China" quality.
Nothing special here just another show off for nads, drone tech 😢
There should be a notice. If you are not a Billionaire, this is not for you.
unify into one, no need to have separate modules, its like bird losing its wings. you can carry the folding propellers. its not a car after if lands somewhere else, is it. who thought this was a good idea.
I just reserved 3 of this module....
One of the dumbest concepts I've ever seen. A triumph of technology over reason......
Those propellers look so dangerous
What's the use of ground module, just eliminate it so that the air module can be bought by everyone and become very popular.
A drone in the dicky of a car. Its not a flying car.
Dude, this is some James Bond stuff right here. 😮
This is not just a flying car , this is a Cybertruck flying truck. Look at the design. This Chinese company just modified the cybertruck. 😅
Somwhy is this a flying car? It's just a car that has a drone in its trunk.
Now this is what I'm gonna buy with my Pi 🎉
Yeah sorry, I'm not flying in something made in China!
I can see it now those things dropping out the sky onto your house
It’s just a rich people’s toy, totally for recreation purposes
Made in china it's really safe will not break trust us 😂😂
The idea is to make the car a flying car Not to have 2 vehicles.
Was expect a flying car 😂
Interesting if most people can afford it.
I hate the idea more than anything I’ve ever hated. Can you imagine the sound of that all around you? We thought gas cars were loud. Moronic and destructive because of the amount of sound that will wreck the peace and quiet that everybody else will try to enjoy.❤
世界的进步需要走这一步,不是吗?我们需要适应这个世界,和伟大的科学家。
Is this some kind of joke no one will buy this 😂
So, what is the use of this ? Driving to a parking lot and then offload the drone, fly to the supermarket nearby , fly back to the van, load the drone and drive back home ? I don’t get it…
You're lacking imagination, think of adventure out in the open.
Yeah, only braindeads like you gonna use it in the city. Lmao. Whole ass adventure pack and you're crying about supermarket car park. Lol.
Looks like a huge microwave oven..
Do u guys accept Bitcoin
A car that carries a drone, not a flying car.
Remove drone then it is good caravan
What kind of rage will it be called?
It's all simulation, not real
Wow Excellent
China goes crazy in innovation
Disgusting😒😒
Looks like the musky rust bucket
don't have enough space for luggage. unprotected blades are deadly and only suitable to use in remote area away from public.
STOP SHOUTING…!!! 🙉
Click bait 🤨
Sure when pigs fly 😅
Their performance at 2:08 was so smooth. You can see the effort they've put in. 👏
Talk about toys for rich people. Why not the car can drive in water like a boat?
Superb ❤
The first modular :)
There is already more than a year the Chinese company did an experiment and it already has a price
woooow. i've never seen a giant drone before. LOL. idiots 💙
Cybervan
Good military I wouldn't take a date in this
Just make sure someone doesn't run into the props and get chopped
This is cool but im curious about the fly time of the drone
We never see any of these vehicles in practical use.
It looks like a Tesla truck mess.
This is also VW's future after they invested So much in XPENG.
Lmao, worry about them investing into Rivian with billions. Their 5% share in Xpeng gonna just allow them have access to their software technology and that's the end of it.
Misss me with this death trap
this is awesome,
Nice CGI.
They should focus on producing EVs and survive instead.
I’ll pass
Don't need to build a new car, just make the flying module compact enough to fit in say a standard toyota or vw van
I guess this way if your car batteries explode slow enough you will have an escape vehicle.
So an even more dangerous cybertruck?
No we have never seen the cybertruck
"Yes, we can do ugly...!"
Year, and childish looking wheel covers make a great fit!
Is there a bike inside the drone? What if the drone breaks down and i need to get back to my car? These designers dont think of everything
because it never broke that is they proved
If the drone breaks down while flying it you won’t need the bike because you’ll be dead.
@@larryo6874 You both realize that that was a joke right ?
That’s just a helicopter with extra fans 😂not a car
