      @@oracleman7913they would never do that as the extra weight would cost a lot for the airline companies to carry those heavy parachutes. @@fonz2002 but it's modular right? Yeah it's a car/van that have wheels to run in asphalt and you can detached their module to flying out. I know it's don't look cool and so innovative but this can being implemented into real life.

    • @WEZ4136
      @WEZ4136 2 месяца назад +3

      @@GhSider as Fonz says, the RUclips title is misleading because it says flying car, this is neither, it’s a van with a drone in the back. There are companies in china and others that have actually made a car that flies, they have wings or props that fold out to facilitate its ability to fly BUT they are attached to the car, meaning it’s the car you drive that actually flies, with this you drive the van, stop, get out and pull a drone out of the rear, get in the drone and fly that while you still have to return to the same location because that’s where the van is still parked.
      The idea of a flying car is to be able to leave home in the morning, if traffic is bad simply deploy the wings and propellers, take off and fly to your destination, land, fold in the flight gear and drive the rest of the way to the office or whatever, not leave half of the vehicle behind losing the driving part completely if you have to land somewhere different than where you took off.

      It seems like people selectively use the word “drone” to disparage passenger drones as if they are just big versions of remote drones. It seems like the issue isn’t that the car doesn’t fly because the company probably isn’t trying to imply that, the issue is that the RUclips channel uses BS clickbait for titles. It’s a truck that a passenger drone docks into… the irony is that omitting the word “passenger” before “drone” makes your comment as misleading as the video title.

      If you want a flying car like in Back to the Future, I hate to break it to you, but that was a movie. If it's gonna fly with today's technology it's gonna have propellers or wings. So they will go: 'ahmagawd it's just a drone!' or 'ahmagawd it's just a plane!'
      And since fiction is all we have to go by: Fifth Element had flying cars with out wheels, so did Star Wars.

    Otis T. Carr, an American inventor, founded OTC Enterprises in 1955 with the goal of developing a spacecraft inspired by concepts from Nikola Tesla. He designed a saucer-shaped craft called the OTC-X1, which he claimed could travel to the Moon and back within a day. In 1958, Carr constructed a full-scale, 45-foot mockup of the OTC-X1 for an amusement park in Oklahoma City. He planned a demonstration flight of a 6-foot prototype on April 19, 1959, but the event was canceled, and no functional model was ever publicly demonstrated.
    Ralph Ring, a technician who worked with Carr, claimed to have participated in a successful test flight of a smaller OTC-X1 prototype. According to Ring, he and Carr conducted a test flight in which they traveled approximately 10 miles instantaneously. Ring asserted that after this test, government agents intervened, confiscating their equipment and shutting down their operations.

    So, to extend the range of the air vehicle and/or allow it to proceed or return ASAP and which might depend on docking with the land vehicle to charge, the suggested solution is to have the road vehicle follow the air vehicle so it will be available to charge the air vehicle when it lands.
    Am I the only one who sees the ridiculousness of this? First, why have the air vehicle, if the land vehicle is going to have to be at that location anyway? And might the land vehicle have used up its own charge to get to the location?
    Yes, yes, I know- this set-up could be used in a scenario where arriving at a location ASAP is of utmost priority (a VIP's arrival, supplies, etc.) and the following land vehicle has opportunities to stop and charge on the way to meet and charge the air vehicle, if the air vehicle doesn't to be picked up right away. And of course, there might be charging facilities at the destination for the air vehicle.
    This is not just a two-vehicle solution, it's a two-person requirement, barring a charging station at the arrival location. It's a follow-car scenario requirement.

      The main problem with all battery powered flying vehicles is that the max flight time is about 25 minutes. Until that problem is solved electric flying vehicles will just be a toy for the rich.

    also, what if you're driving alone and need to fly over congestion and then go back on the road? not like the fake cybertruck can autodrive to the drone's location. literally pointless. also uses fuel. yay humanity.

      You can search for a safe place out of the road which are big enough for the car and the drone to get in and out and manuver and fly. There is NO ROAD in any country that let you do whatever you like even if you just use regular common car.

    I hate the idea more than anything I’ve ever hated. Can you imagine the sound of that all around you? We thought gas cars were loud. Moronic and destructive because of the amount of sound that will wreck the peace and quiet that everybody else will try to enjoy.❤
