  • This is the fourth in a series of FPV quadcopter flights above the Derwent Dams in Derbyshire, famous for their association with the Dam Busters. Once again we fly over the Ladybower Reservoir, the lowest of the three dams built to supply water to the East Midlands and drowning the villages of Ashopton and Derwent in the process. We start by flying from Bamford Ridge with Win Hill on our left and head up the dam in the direction of Crookhill. We end by skimming Bamford Ridge before landing at our original position.

Great filming ,so that's how you do a drone film! .I flew over the dam and got told off as they have a" drone no fly zone " , a sign to state that would of been nice . still I got some great shots and put them on utube

News to me, I've lived by the dams for over 25 years and been flying over the dams for the past 4 years. I am not aware of any "drone no fly zones". You do have to take great care, military aircraft fly low over the dams and jet aircraft can appear at lighting speeds. Fly low and have a spotter with you at all times. Be prepared to ditch if necessary.

Nice work. Are you applying any post production stabalizing and grading or is this the stuff straight out of the camera?

Thank you. Apart from removing the fisheye in GoPro Studio it's straight out of the camera.

+blusnapper Cool. Have you thought to try and make money from it by doing golf courses and stuff like that?

I'm retired Sam, I spent most of my working life as a press photographer and now it's just a hobby.
