almost forgot i need to fucking swear to keep my comments, youtube amiright?
This episode really shows Thomas and Percy's friendship once again on great display. The S5-esque action is spot on like the winding house at the top of the incline exploding and the trucks smashing into the shed.
"..aaaAAAAAA-"
Absolute mastery on all fronts. Bravo! This is like if Season 5 relied just a teensy bit more on railway practice, but didn't shirk on the fun.
TFC should not have blamed Thomas for the accident. It was the trucks’s fault.
The trucks have diplomatic immunity
@@lewc3413 What does diplomatic immunity mean?
Now that I think of it has he never talked to a truck in the show?
@@timspence2328 He talked to Scruffy.
@@charlessapp1835 oh yeah true
this has got to be my favorite video from you BY FAR. The VFX, camera angles and movements were so refreshing and felt so much like a season 5 episode! props to LAC for writing such a banger story.
Maybe someone could try the new ai which has been used to do a ringo star Oliver owns up
Uh, no?
@@CXR-gk4lw i didn't quite catch what you meant by that, but I think we're all able to have our own favorite episodes, so it's more than okay if you have a different one in mind!
Oh I actually enjoy Oliver owns up! I was just didn’t like it when he mentioned ai. That’s all
@@CXR-gk4lw omg I LOWKEY thought you responded directly to me, I also have to agree I think using ai like that is a hit or miss, i personally dont agree with it being used like that, but we all can like our own things
I love your narrating at Thomas' "OH NO!" Also the explosion was unexpected, also that scream at 4:18 XD. Great as always!
😂 oh! Oh yes! Absolute masterpiece instantly.
@@NathanielPiscian What are you implying?
Nevermind, I get it now.
Never has Season 5 been captured so gracefully; BEAUTIFUL work my man!! 💪❤️🔥
(Edit: if the incline doesn’t work its way into more stories or modeling I will riot)
Glad you enjoyed it! Love your stuff dude ❤
@@SudderyStationMaster And same here my homie, thank you for giving me some much needed hype tonight :)
hi train boy im subbed@@ItsTrainBoy

@@SudderyStationMaster Where did those new trucks come from?
This is like a combination of "Snow" and "Dunkin Duncan", only on a standard gauge level. Nicely done.
Look at the design of those hoppers. Witness the kind of mischief they make. And see what vicious hunters they can be when their victim is slipping away!
Talk about intensity! 😮
Aw... Percy sleeping like a baby. 😊
With a bit of Put Upon Percy mixed in
4:15 pretty cool crash, wasn’t it?
Just incredible! Your work is seriously some of my favorite in the fandom. Not only is the aesthetic spot on to the season you replicate, but the storytelling and pacing fit so well with the classic series. Really does feel like I've been thrown back in time and I'm watching a long lost episode. Absolutely love it! Can't wait to see what you've got cooking next!!
This was such a good episode, and captured the Season 5 feels in all the right ways. At first glance, this looked like a rehash of Dinkin Duncan with different characters, but despite the similar outcome, the lead up to it was fresh and original, and in the typical Season 5 drama.
This is a great adapted story here. Loved the Season 5 feel here with the music and coloring here.
I only seen the Skarlory Railway having an Incline, but never before I seen an incline on the bigger Railway.
It's nice to see Thomas tries to help out Percy here instead of the usual teasing and such. Another thing to show maturity with Thomas.
Fantastic job here! Keep up the great work!
In the book 📚📖 series the stone 🪨 cutting ✂️ transfer yard was near crovens gate 2:02
I think there was a standard gauge incline somewhere in the UK. I saw a video of it once years ago.
Of course Thomas would help Percy. After all, Season 5 was Thomas’ maturest point.
@@kyleeaton2660 I BELIEVE you'd be thinking of the old 'Cromford and High Peak" railway
@@EngineerRailMansnow:ima ruin this whole man’s career
Love how the top and the bottom of the incline seem to be different sets. It really make this feel like an actual model series production. Also like the appearance of Thomas' alarmed and the S2 shocked face.
Yeah that was quite cool! I think if SSM used that face for this S5 style story, I definitely think he should have used Thomas’ O Face as well! 😂
That workman seriously trusted a truck? I would question why he isn't getting scolded, however, considering Sir Topham Hatt's habit of blaming the engines for incidents hardly their fault or at all, I shouldn't be surprised. Also Leo's score is pretty spot-on!
Not to be a captain obvious, however, I just realized after watching that if that coupling hadn't snapped and that siding wasn't there, Thomas would've been dragged into that crash, I swear those trucks are evil. "AFTER HIM!" I also love that Thomas' mistake stemmed from his kindness instead of his cheekiness.
EDIT: All I mean is that while Thomas was at fault working in an area without permission, that workman shouldn't have trusted a truck.
I don't think this is the first time I've seen stories where workmen listened to the trucks, so I wouldn't call it out of bounds.
It's weird tho how a siding would just be in the middle of the incline instead of at the top or bottom, but it's not like it's a flaw or anything.
STH had a right to be angry with him. Thomas may have tried to help, but he never really had permission to do it. Percy was right, Thomas didn't know those trucks and should've been warned more carefully about how more troublesome they were. So, Thomas was partially to blame for it, not entirely, just partially.
@@kyleeaton2660 Oh definitely.
However, that workman should've at least been warned.
I am very grateful for all the positive comments, and im very happy people are liking the story so much! SudderyStationMaster did a wonderful job with it, for those who are wondering the story is free to adapt, and the script can be found on Suddery's Twitter!
I would definitely like to write more stories that feel like Series 5 blockbusters!
You absolutely should! You did a smashing job with this one 👏
Can I just say that you did a brilliant job having Thomas make a mistake in his Series 5 state of personality? I love how makes a mistake out of kindness instead of his carelessness and cheekiness. Brilliant! 👌
* chuckling to themselves * Blockbuster is the word.
This is a fantastic story you wrote here. Keep up the great work on your end!
Wow! I've got quite a few things to say about this:
1. The overall story was really enjoyable. Did remind me of Dunkin Duncan a bit. For someone who is well known for Trainz and animation Xavier's writing is really good.
2. I love that Xavier gave the hopper trucks some character as opposed to just the regular 7 plank ones.
3. Loved the music. Favourites being the Percy feeling asleep bit and the sped up Put Upon Percy disaster theme.
Overall, I really loved this story. Very well done. 👍
On a side note, I heard the explosion sound effect from Simpsons Hit and Run.
@@TankEngine97When?
@@joeleboeuf The bit where the winch blows up.
@@TankEngine97 I figured so.
I had absolutely no idea Xavier still wrote stories, but this is an amazing adapted story here man! You nailed the S5 Vibes here!
Wow, this looks pulled right out of Season 5!! The camera work and editing is phenomenal.
Hey, what's up, Epiclafiteau? Good to see you, man.
It’s hard to pick favorites when it comes to your content, but holy moly this has to be my favorite of them all! The visuals, the feeling, the excitement watching this…bravo!
Dunkin' Duncan but based.
Might be some of your best work yet - this is very much what a peak Season Five episode is like. The cinematography is on point - love the subtle camera shake during the POV shoots with Thomas and the hoppers; it feels really authentic. That shot with the quick zoom-in on the siren though - that alone could fool a couple of people into thinking that's from the show.
So much to be said about this and yet I can't put it all into words - yet another banger video!
Think that is a shot they used in Put Upon Percy and likely Mitton can reuse that shot if they created this in the show
That was a cleaver episode loved how Thomas's quick thinking saved him from a nasty accident
This is one of the most accurate Thomas fan stories I've seen, the visuals and vfx is spot on and something just like season 5, absolutely love the fisheye lens of the truck's faces
This is a great episode! A nice season 5 styled episode with a great plot:A incline being used on sodor. All the characters feel true to themselves, Thomas being his helpful self, but easy to anger, the trucks being chaotic, and the chase at the end! Very close, Thomas BARLEY got away in time
3:15 I love how you replicated Jeremy Clarkson shouting "Oh No!" when he and the lads were building the bridge over the river Kock in Burma and he crashed a crane that he was driving. Nice cheeky reference fam.
I wondered if someone would notice that!!!
@@SudderyStationMaster LMFAO
This, by far, is one of the most accurate Trainz videos I've ever seen! The writing, lighting and models that are used are great and EXTREMELY accurate. AWESOME job.
Always such a treat to see an upload from you--it's shot so well!
This is an instant classic. The execution of this is exactly how they would’ve done in season five I’m not sure if there are standard gauge inclines, but I don’t care it’s awesome. A missed opportunity for sir toppam hatt to say he was inclined to something.
Ah dang! Wish I had thought of that 😂 and Yeah they were real, look up the cromford incline in Derby!
Thanks will do
@@SudderyStationMaster 3:57 not exactly sure what kind of damage was done here, looks like the whole incline just exploded
I'm *inclined* to believe this is your finest work on a non-RWS adaptation yet!
I think those kinds of trucks really should have made an appearance in the TV series.
Yeah I sometimes think the TV show just missed the opportunity on so much things.
Yeah, the hopper trucks was never made for model Series 5 and the Incline at The Coal Mines because the crews is very difficult to setting the models and layout for filming.
*cough cough* hector *cough cough*
Its ilegal cuz theres exploxions
I agree with that.
Mavis: Oh That's Gonna Hurt.
Percy: Do It Again, I Wasn't Looking!
hehehe spongy bob reference
Another classic Suddery. Felt very Season 5-esque. Top work mate!
Watching this masterpiece feels exactly just watching S5. This is just so good.👌
Yeah right down to the Fat Controller unfairly blaming Thomas for the accident.
he didn’t blame Thomas, he was cross that Thomas had made the arrangements without TFC’s permission
This was one of the most impressive fan made episodes I've ever seen. The story, VFX, and the character portrayal were on point. Bravo
That was really amazing. It feels like something out of Series 5, especially the David Mitton styled explosion.
Will be tough to say something that hasn't been said already but I'll do my best!
The replay value in this is insane. I don't think I can get bored of it. It nails that S5 feel I experienced as a kid. First part is all happy innocent usual stuff, then suddenly
*You're fearing for the main character's life as they get forcibly dragged into a dangerous situation*
Thomas' "Oh, no!" felt so legit and real, well done on that narration piece alone 😄
Could truly feel the peril amoungst the genuinely great camera work
Quite fitting as well as Thomas never really got a S5 episode *specifically* focused on him, having only really shared it with others
All in all well done :)
This sure was a good story! I like how the incline was set and the trucks rolling down was epic! I give this a 10/10
4:07 truck jumpscare
HELP IM LAUGHING UNCONTROLLABLY
This was awesome! I love how Thomas is written - he feels more mature and in line with his later persona. The hoppers were also really fun, I love how cunning and vengeful they are. Props to you and Xavier for writing such a solid story.
The climax has to be my favorite part. The music as Thomas ascends the incline, and the trucks’ “higher and higher!” was so tense. The winch exploding was a nice touch, very David Mitton-esque. The whole scene is so well made and put together.
You also got me hooked on the Cromford & High Peak inclines now 😆
I actually wish we had a episode like this for real this is Amazing it’s wonderful what you can do with trainz Bro Excellent work My man!!
This really feels like a season 5 episode that was canned. From camera movements, to the sound effects, it’s perfect! A banger video like always!!
I genuinely think this is my new favourite Thomas fan story. What a ride of an episode. It's sort of like taking elements from the SKR and putting the standard gauge engines in their situations. 10/10 my friend!
2:15 when Percy said “oh this is bad” I couldn’t stop laughing 😂😂
This is honestly by far my favorite fan episode. It doesn’t feel out of place, and the style is really good!
Bro thinks he’s a slate truck
"Faster! Faster!" Yelled the trucks. >:)
"No! No!" Cried the empty coal trucks. "It's Thomas!" D:
Good Lord, the S5 vibes that you made are like from the actual 5th season. Keep it up with the 'Smashing' work.
Those have got to be some of the most bloodthirsty trucks I've ever seen.
This feels way too much like a lost Season 5 episode, it's brilliant
Also the line at 2:38 I swear is a reference to a line from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
Actually, it has been used before that movie came out
This beautifully captures the essence of the era it is trying to emulate. Absolutely amazing work!
A mighty fine piece of work here, well done! The cinematography and direction was spot on, the visuals were fantastic and it truly felt like a lost S5 episode. The story feels like what Dunkin Duncan is originally gonna be written as prior to S6, but a better story than the latter.
I didn’t know Xavier still wrote, this should be interesting
Where can I find his stories?
Dispite TFC blaming Thomas, I actually loved this episode. I just woke up and watched this and i'm ready for a nice day. This story was fantastic. I love the music included, the narration, the writing and all the other stuff. I'm amazed over that you have written several stories now. It's amazing. I can't wait to see more of your content. Fantastic job, Suddery Station Master!
Thomas did the job without Sir Topham Hatt's permission, so Thomas IS at fault.
Oh, now it makes sense, thank you for the information. :)
Another amazing video. I admire how faithful they are to the original tv style. You nailed the season 5 theme here, I love it!
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought of S5 right there. The explosion at 3:58 and the scream at 4:18 is just icing on the cake. Also I like the close up of Thomas too. This is the best S5 asthetic video I have seen. Keep it up.
I guess Thomas is very lucky to avoid the accident at the incline and near collision with the trucks. And by the way, Amazing Original Story in Series 5 style
Outstanding work! This really feels like an episode straight out of Season 5 (My all-time favourite season)!😁
That was amazing set design for the coal mine, the incline was also so well made, liked how there was a road bridge halfway up the incline, and all the small eye candy details were all so well executed. However, the climax gave me some serious anxiety and chills. those hoppers really we’re determined to take thomas out even if it meant they would go down with him. It was also nice seeing thomas for once go back to his roots. almost every story these days has him out on the branch line with Annie and Clarable, so it was a breath of fresh air seeing him do some shunting work with wagons. the writing was so great Xavier did a phenomenal job with this. I have to know, what is the inspiration behind this story, are there standard gauge inclines? Because i’m so use associating that with the Skarloey railway and their slate incline. is this based on any event where an engine got stuck half way up and switched into a siding a siding, genuinely curious. Over all the best season story to date. keep up the phenomenal work.
yes there are actually! I mainly got my inspiration for the set design from the Cromford incline in Derby!
@@SudderyStationMaster If you don't mind me asking, is there a general location for the incline and the coal yards?
Don’t think i didn’t notice that brilliant sneaky Chicken Run musical reference at 3:20
Well, I must say, that was cool. Those hopper trucks are very stylish and the episode is like Season 5 style.
As I said in my Reaction Video to this, it was a heart in mouth moment when that explosion happened and the hopper trucks literally tried to kill Thomas! I definitely got S5 vibes watching this story as the visuals, music and everything else was spot on! Light And Coal also did a fantastic job writing this story! What makes your work so unique is that you find a way to make these stories feel like they are part of the TVS. I feel like once you have done enough stories, you might be able to a VHS compilation style video! Hopefully you do stories in the style of S1, S6, S7 and maybe in the style of the HIT Era! And may I also ask if you can add your RWS stories in the style of the TVS to your free to adapt folder as those stories are good as well? Overall keep up the good work!
Yeah I could probably do that!
I don't know about the hit era since the writing was terrible or season 1 since there's hardly anything to adapt other than Mrs. Myndley's Christmas, but other than that. It would be interesting to see Gullane Era style episodes.
@@silhouetteva2365 Yeah, I’m one of those defenders of the HIT Era, but I agree that the writing was very inconsistent throughout the era. But I know Suddery Station Master can find a way to write or adapt a good HIT Era style story while the engines are in their true character. Definitely want to see a Gullane Era style story on this channel!
@@imrandarr1094 I'm looking for a story with characters like Bear or Culdee adapted in the style of the series, or an entirely original character. On the topic of the hit and gullane eras, It might be possible. Just wait and see.
This... This is just pure fire, whoever wrote this and you who did all the visuals managed to fabricate a whole ass season 5 episode
Best story to have ever existed in forever for Season 5!
This is just scarcely a kin to its source material visually, this doesn't feel like it was Trainz at times, you've really nailed the vibe down to a T, smashing job mate
Glad I was finally able to catch one of your videos live, rly good work all around!!
Thomas Should've Waited For Percy To Explain a Bit More To Him.
YAHOOO This great man. Xavier writes amazing things. You did a great adaptation of this man.
Incredible story! Love the climax & the Chicken Run music bit. Aceoftrains nailed that part!
Truly an amazing story! Please do more like this!
Classic Thomas still lives on through your videos Mate. I always get excited when another one of your videos come out. This is clear proof that there still plenty to do with the classic series style of telling Thomas stories. Another fantastic episode 😄 Love it!!! A nice surprise to wake up to in the morning.
A new Suddery Station Master video? I feel "inclined" to give it a Like lol
Great work, as always! I particularly enjoyed the Chicken Run score during the danger scene; a nice surprise!
This fascinating, just going off the thumbnail, clearly some sort of season 5 thing. a new concept that is probably never on sodor in the rws, but because it’s season 5 anything is possible. But a standard gauge incline is interesting I can only think of one place on the ffarqaur branch that has a steep hill and that was a surprise for percy. between the miners haunt and the coal mine at the top and it could be that at the top in he thumbnail, but I have no idea, because it was never shown the two locations connected.
Did I over analyze this? Yes
Am I excited for this none the less? Yes
Keep up the great work see you in a couple of hours.
As a truck fan, it's fun seeing troublesome trucks from the original ones. I love the world building and characters feeling new but just the right balance to make it faithful. Just found your channel and you're doing an excellent job mate!
Nice way to introduce Hoppers into the TV Series, especially very sinister ones indeed! And I'd say their payback scheme backfiring like that, certainly gave them Karma! And that Klaxon Sound Effect from TUGS was a nice touch too! RANK S!!!
To echo what everyone else has said, this episode feels like it could've been plucked right out of Season 5. Well done!
PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who caught the nod to Chicken Run in the score at around 3:19!
I began to notice it too
I love how insane the hoppers look
The faces of the incline trucks look hilarious and suitable for the show
This genuinely looks like a Season 5 episode with the sets, the story, the soundtrack. Along with new things such as the close up of the truck's faces and the design of the incline and it's unique siding, which seems like something I would've made with own Thomas toys and track as a kid. Now I really want to make one.
This story has Season 5 vibes written all over it, and I love it for that reason!
This feels very season 5. Well done.
3:14 DUNKIN THOMAS?
Similar to Dunkin Duncan vibes. 🙂
Your quality on these episodes is so good, I still feel so amateur with my stuff, but can’t wait to see this episode when it premieres buddy, been watching since the first video and honestly you are one of my favourite channels to date 😊 ❤🎉
I loved this! The score AceOfTrains did was phenomenal!!

Probably the shot that most resembles season 5
Very nice :D
More thoughts:
“I didn’t know we had an incline!”
“It’s new.”
I love that that’s all the exposition we get lol
The headlong shots are really what make this feel like S5. That, and the winch randomly bursting into flames!
The shots of the Hoppers chasing Thomas are some of the best. Felt just like the models on sets.
Stellar work. It’s such a joy to revisit the S5 world. Looking forward to more
3:51 After him! After him! (Cable explosion)
Oh man this would’ve been such an awesome set in the show. This totally would’ve been a play set lol
And we thought the SKR was the only place on Sodor with a incline but it seems that also the NWR has one too, but in seriousness though good work, it captures it quite well, hopefully we will see stories that capture S6/7 too, be cool to see but still nice story.
But he only does stories that capture S1-5.
Ik just saying
What an episode! That whole part of Thomas going up to the incline then avoiding the runaway trucks was so thrilling, I love it!
Not to mention the excellent visuals shown in this video and the writing of the story made by the original writer too!
We need more Season 5 tributes. I could write you one if you want.
I'm sorta overloaded with projects at the moment but I do thank you for offering!
The abandoned Suddery harbor should make more appearances.
Love it! 😄 It definitely has a Series 5 feel to it! 👍🏻 I can imagine it as a Season 5 episode! 😉👍🏻
This is terrific work! Season 5 will always be my favorite, and like what others have said, this captures that vibe perfectly!
This gives me extreme classic series vibes amazing job
Feels like a series 5 Thomas story
This might be my favorite episode from you by far. This is amazing. Never thought I’d see a standard gauge incline
They were real! Look up the Cromford incline in Derby!
I do love the chicken run style music and plus it wasn’t really Thomas’s fault the accident so why did Sir Topham Hatt have to blame him for it
Because he sorta did Percy's job without permission. Plus, he was distracted a bit by the incline.
Actually, Thomas wasn't Exactly in trouble. TFC was more annoyed at the situation overall and said he prefer these incidents not to happen. He didn't say it was Thomas' fault or anything like that directly.
This was a stellar story!! Had me excited and interested the whole way though! I love the visuals as well, the season 5 style always makes me smile!!
Cheers!!!!
I can’t believe what I just saw the first time. It truly felt as if we’ve watched a deleted scene, or episode, of Season 5. This just became another favorite episode of mine. Well done! I especially love the incline. Really well done and made.
