    Allcroft wanted more stuff about Thomas himself for Season 2 which is why she commissioned Christopher Awdry to make MATTTE yet we already had this story here along with Triple Header having Thomas in leading roles that they could’ve adapted, though Christopher Awdry still could’ve done Thomas Percy and the Coal and Drip Tank but as small standalone books without having to make those boring and hardly anything going on Better Late Than Never (only good thing was the beef Thomas had with Henry and James) and The Runaway stories.

      Ngl I’m kinda greatful for the story better late than never! I mean I agree it’s a boring story, but the title itself is a saying I took to heart. The way how the story explains it is that being late isn’t always a bad thing. While that’s true, I’d say the meaning better late than never means it’s better to realize your mistakes when you do and decide to do better regardless of how many times you’ve messed up or how long it took you to realize it, than to never change at all 😌 if that makes sense. Honestly if that story was never made, I probably would’ve never heard that saying

    If Britt Allcroft wanted more Thomas-centric stories for Season 2, I don't know why she never adapted this one! Once again, your adaptation is spot-on to how I imagine it would have been in the official show. I enjoyed the addition of more characters to the story, and the chase sequence feels very Mitton-esque. It feels like it was pulled straight from the archives!

    I think my favorite part about these videos is that you canonical have dcg12 as the ringo starr for your series 1 and series 2 and then for later seasons you are the equivalent to Michel Angelis. that is a nice touch that I love it. Also this is my favorite video to date in trainz because I do not see a single a single ancient trainz person model throughout and it so nice that figure collection has grown big enough to no longer need those things. one final thing the sky back drop. I adore that you add not only the sky’s, but also the far off hills scene below the sky. no one ever remembers to put them and it is such a nice detail that I appreciate more and more especially in the books, makes sodor feel less flat. anyhow a phenomenal episode. keep up the outstanding great work.

  • @TheBlueE2
    @TheBlueE2 Год назад +30

    Very lovely adaptation, the details to make it as S2 as possible certainly don't go unmissed, particularly elements like Elsbridge being the primary 'hub' for Thomas' branch line, even down to the style of consist that Boco was pulling in one frame
    As said in the livestream, it especially adds that Thomas actually stops the lorry at the crossing, his reward feels more earned as opposed to what the original does. In a way one could say Christopher was aiming for a little *too much* reality in his take, whilst here, your main character needs to go that extra mile to make their status in the story feel necessary. Train blocking a level crossing to stop a stolen car isn't beyond the realm of realism anyway!
    Speaking of which, I love the BTS tidbit regarding the lorry, very clever! No doubt the real deal would have reused Bertie' chassis for a story he wasn't present in
    All in all lovely stuff :)

      Equally as bizarre as the *entire* book of 'Thomas & Victoria' where he only has one sentence, an interrupted sentence at that lol.

    And besides all of that, the writing- I daresay you've improved every aspect of the original story tenfold! There's the little changes made to center the episode on Thomas, like him wanting to help the station master and being the one to stop the thieves- I also really like the interaction between him and Daisy. Pardon my laguage but DAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMN that into looking crisp as hell.
    I think mition would be proud of how the community has pain stakinly recretated his style, let alone look like hd versions of the old epsiodes. Know rhis was never adapted but this seriously is good enough to be the offical
