My pleasure! 😊
Hi dr. Ryan, in this video you mentioned that cavity liners provide thermal and electrical protection but in DD it mentions that they don't provide thermal protection. I'm confused as to whether they do or not?
when we put liner, base, and sealer. It is first the liner and next to that the base and after that the sealer right? and the sealer is over the base or In the walls?
Great
Hi doc!could you please tell me where can I watch about indications of onlays inlays and pin retained restorations.
Can you (or anyone) clarify what you mean on the flowchart at 23:10 where it says "Cement (2mm thick)"?
we cannot use a sealer with composite?
@13:04 “less potential to nick the adjacent tooth”. I must be doing something wrong because it almost feels that interproximal preparations jeopardize the adjacent tooth as a result of this goal to break contact. Love this video btw.
It is challenging, but with good isolation and a sturdy finger rest can be achieved reliably without nicking the adjacent tooth! Keep up the good work 🙌🏼
can I get this lecture as a pdf file?
Hi Dr Ryan, for composite restorations, some dentists use only base (Vitrebond) and no more liner (Dycal) when a liner is called for. Does that still protect the pulp? And I love all your videos, by the way. It is helping me so much in my review for the boards. Thank you for what you do.
A base will protect the pulp by providing some insulation, but will not stimulate tertiary dentin formation like a liner will. I still opt to place a liner if I am within 0.5mm of the pulp to help create a dentinal bridge and give the tooth the best chance of staying vital.
@@mentaldental Thank you for responding, Dr Ryan. You're the best!
Are flat floors and rounded internal line angles true for composite? or no need?.you talked about rough walls but didnt tell about floor.
What is Difference in varnish nd sealer under amalgam restoration?
They are practically very similar to each other. A varnish is used to help provide insulation and sealing ability underneath the amalgam, and is made up of dissolved resin in an organic matrix.
Hi where can I buy your full lectures?
If you want the slides from these presentations, you can get them one of two ways. You can either sign up on my Patreon page www.patreon.com/mentaldental or send $30 to me directly via PayPal www.paypal.me/mentaldental
Hey will you please tell me why there are no (zero) line angle & point angle for class 6....as this Question is asked every time in viva....
Because the restoration is on a cusp tip, there are no true walls/floors.
@@mentaldental thank you 😊
doctor
please how get on questions
You can find practice questions in the last video in each series, or on my Patreon page at www.patreon.com/mentaldental
😍😍
Wow...
There is no pdf???
You can get the PDF slides one of two ways. Go to my website at www.mentaldental.com/faq to get them!
If we are doing a DO-Comp, is the "distal wall" still called the distal wall or is it called the mesial wall now because it's now on the mesial. Or is it always just called the distal wall when doing a MO/DO preparation?
That wall would be called the mesial wall because now it is located parallel and closest to the mesial surface of that tooth!
