  • Authorities have released shocking new information about a case involving a Camarillo man who is currently behind bars for one murder and was recently linked with another.
Rotherie Durell Foster, 38, was arrested last year in connection with the murder of 35-year-old José Antonio Velásquez, who was reported missing in July 2022 and whose body was found months later off Mulholland Drive in the Santa Monica Mountains. Foster and Velásquez knew each other and were both plumbers, officials from the Ventura County District Attorney's Office and Sheriff's Office said.
KTLA's Mary Beth McDade reports on May 23, 2024.

No. They found the co-workers body. Killer was arrested. Then while investigating co-worker's murder further, the police discovered another dead guy with suspicious deposits into killer's account. They exhumed that guy's body and found he died from fentanyl overdose just like the co-worker. Now he's charged with two murders. And he'd already served time in the past for manslaughter. Let's hope he wasn't doing any plumbing jobs on the side cause they'll never be able to track down if he murdered any of those folks. So investigated and charged for 2 murders before this. Sounds like another justice fail again.

That's a medical examiner who should no longer be a doctor

They didn't even do a blood test? Talked to the guy's doctor and decided natural causes. It seems like there should be some basic medical exam. I understand an autopsy isn't indicated for every death. You'd think the bank would notice withdrawals or unusual checks after the guy was dead.

Wait … an autopsy was not needed? Start asking questions to the local DA and remove her from public “service”. I don’t care if the victim is black white brown or red or green. There needs to be accountability in our public and political officials. Everyone is so quick to instantly blame a man or woman for their horrific actions but nobody is willing to speak out on the public officials who handle these cases. They release them. Just recently a man was released on 1,000,000 dollar bail for murder in LA.

I’m so tired of hearing the word public servant there’s some of the most highly paid with the best benefits known to man they get huge pensions at usually around age 55 years old where in the private sector you typically can’t retire till you’re 65 or 70 and you’re Social Security is a fractionof public servants pensioned

Hundreds of people die in the Los Angeles area every day. If they are over age 40 and don't look suspicious they aren't going to do an autopsy.

They don't do autopsies for older people that die and it looks like natural causes. Who in the heck could afford all that.
