@@RicardosGaming forklifts can be very scary to be around, I’ve seen and dodged plenty of forklift drivers who keep the forks at decap level and the speed high.
type 8 will allow everyone that same experience in game

what i'd really like is a proper HUD colour editor in game.
Looking forward to trying this as an alternative to my Krait Phantom for multirole BGS piracy. A good hauler also makes for a good looter!

Although to be honest a little bit of variation in the cockpit would be great.
I've been hoping for a large explorer from Lakon--something that will fulfill the potential that the Type 7 *almost* had for the role. Have to wait and see what the internals, jump range, etc. look like and if it works for that I'll get one, but I'll wait for the normal release and pay with in-game money. I paid for the early PII because I was just then building a titan attacker, and it was perfect for that.
New ships are cool but I was reeeeeally hoping to get some info on the new core feature coming this year, oh well I guess

She's a dedi Miner/Trader. 1 medium hardpoint and the rest are small. Core similar to the Type 7, but HUGE optionals for a Med. size ship. The design (to me) says that pitch and yaw will outpace roll, maybe an SLF bay, and the mandibles keep the cockpit away from asteroids. They say she runs cool so yeah, a profitable smuggler and them monster engines means she has some legs.
Shes a solid 8/10 but the legs make her a 10
I was starting to think this game would never see a new ship.

I think I like the Type 8 a little better than the Python Mk II. Never been a super fan of the Python. I really like the smaller ships; DBX and Cobra Mk III. I would love to see a new small explorer. I would love to see a "luxury" explorer class ship from Saud Kruger, for the savvy explorers who want to wander the galaxy in style.
152 with 2 pips to engines seems pretty quick to me for its design. May be pretty fast with engineering and full pips.
I missed the ship skins by 4 minutes because my Twitch notification didn't go off....

I do wonder just a bit why other ships matter that much in Elite since there are no interiors? There seems to be little difference between ships around the same size.
True words mate, though a new feature is com8ng, this may be base building though some are hoping for interiors

As someone with over 50 ships, I have to disagree! Each ship has their nuances and considerable differences in pitch roll yaw for example, power distributor effectiveness, speed, heat generation, internals, utility points etc etc. One extra internal, utility or hard point can make all kinds of niche builds possible 😊
Still not a fan of the prongs, but they give the ship a _superman in flight_ look.
I like the concept of those two long arms , I wanted the Mamba to look like that
@@ratstar4102 The Mamba is the midlife crisis ship of the future so it can be extravagant.
The Type-8 is a trucker ship so it should be about functionality. I would have liked a Type-7 fitting on a medium pad and with the rotating thrusters of the Keelback.
At least let's hope she hauls more cargo than the Python.
Very disappointed in the harpoints but the internal slots are good, core internals not so good.
It’s like a small ship that’s too big for a small pad.
I see 2 small hardpoints on both inner arms near the heat vents and a medium one middle rear behind the cargo hatch, nothing on top yet or else, I just hope is not full of small guns.

Visuals are good to be sure but how do the internals stand up, tbph I don't care too much if it looks like shit as long as it goes like shit too

Too bad you never see your own ship and the cockpit is ever bit of typical lakon crap so whatever stats it may have, it's not really going to be anything new for all intents and practical purposes for anyone. At least the pmk2 had a drastically improved interior that made you feel like you were flying something new
To me I looked just like the regular python interior
Just me but regardless the game I am playing I am not a fan of anything that obstructs my field of view out of the cockpit
This why I seldom use the front shipkits
i still say it does not really fit into the Elite Universe. It just looks like it was made for a different Franchsie

To each their own I like it and will definitely get it pretty sure you can pump cargo up to 460 or so so it'll Def replace my t9 heavy
I do agree, but I am glad FDev did not go the safe route and give us a T7 with a face lift. I appreciate the effort they put into this, so I will get it early when they offer it. You know they will.
It looks terrible in game. The reason the render looked good was more advanced shading, wear and tear and the black outlining around all the less saturated yellow tones of the ship. This just looks ugly in game and can we talk about that lego looking middle backend? To blocky and to large of a single face in my opinion.

@@RicardosGaming Agreed and hopefully they address this and update the paint job and add a bit more detail. =) It needs to look a lot better than this.
