- This video shows how and why I "wax dip" all of my beekeeping equipment instead of traditional painting. I share my tank setup, waxes used, wax ratios, how it all works, and show a water penetration test.
You can see how/why the pieces for this equipment were cut in this video : • Nuc Pallet Build (Part 1)
How it was all assembled here: • Nuc Pallet Build (Part 2)

A wax dipping tank is on my wish list
It is nice to have, just wish I would've made it bigger
If you were to build one now how large would you build it? Looking at getting a tank built and curious of suggestions given foam
If $$ wasn't an issue, I would keep it the same height and try something like 30"L x 48"W
You don’t need one…we got you covered!!😂😂
every day i dip is saving money and a hundred little burns ... worth it
very good
Ahhh we just started watching you today..I commented on another of your videos about watching Brad at Faith apiaries and using his plans pretty much for the pallets and he also makes these six frame pallets, my husband just has made some of those in the last few weeks and we are gonna dip them next week! Hubs also built an awesome dip tank that has really been a game changer also!! He built a “cage” to put the equipment in to dip and have a gantry crane that he uses to lower and raise the cage into the wax. Seems so work really well! We’ve enjoyed watching your videos today!!
Sounds like quite the setup!
If you hinge a lid on box with a t bar fitted to underside it will keep heat in and push boxes down for dipping. Might save a few burns too. Great vid
That's basically what I had but it seemed to hold the moisture in and caused problems.
Add a couple of vent stacks to the top of the lid to let moisture out. This will solve the moisture buildup inside of the tank.@@hefleyhives

Hi, is plywood not damaged by the heat of cooking, the glue doesn't fail ?
👍👍👍

If you touch your paraffin wax, if its sticky to the touch you got the wrong one and is probably causing the excess foam.
What paraffin do you use?
@zakheinfzelman9570 is there other paraffin waxes out there??
I am in the process of building one, but I can't decide on dimensions I was going to go with 24x36x36 depth x width x height. My biggest issue is trying to figure out how much wax I will have to buy. Either way good video I subscribed.
I calculated the volume I wanted my tank filled. I then got the dimensions of the wax blocks I'd be buying and calculated the volume of one block. I could then figure how many blocks total I needed. I bought extra of course because you will use wax as you dip equipment.
what is the dimensions of your shop, and layout photovideos of your shop... really got my head turning....
30x60
Very interesting, does boiling the ply, not like cause the glue they use to stick all the layers of ply together to come unstuck?
I haven't experienced that at all. The titebond iii I use for assembly seems to hold up as well.
What gauge steel did you use?
10
if you use fire brick around ghe out side of the tank it will reduce your propaine bill . Its not hard to do .! Im interested in wax formula .Kel
50-50. Parrafin and microcrystalline
Is your tank cold rolled steel or stainless steel.
Stainless
