Every time I think of the OG Tony Hawk's Pro Skater I always think of "Superman" by Goldfinger.
For me it's New Girl by The Suicide Machines.
Blood Brothers · Papa Roach, starts playing right at the first stage...and i p;played that stage the most
And that song follows and haunts Tony everywhere he goes 😂
The band tells a story about how they were on tour when the game game out and the crowd went crazy when they played Superman and the band didn't know why. So sick.
I think Primus's "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" in that game was one of my first exposures to the band. I'm still a huge fan years later, having seen them live several times and playing bass in a band that covered Primus a lot in highschool.
Keanu is fanboying over Tony lol
Makes a change to EVERYONE fanboying over Keanu.
In the skate and video game world, he’s the goat. I think remembering Keanu wanted to do a video game from his comic book, I could be wrong, or maybe it was a movie 🤔.
He's just so excited about it. He's the fucking man.
Jason Ellis: but you're Tony Hawk
And then Rodney Mullen just casually causing chaos in the background
Nothing wrong with that.
Tony Hawk games had the best soundtracks
Oh without question ✊

Imagine being in the same room as 2 guys as cool as Tony and Keanu
It would be the best day ever
I can't. There ARE none as cool.
it’s the humility that makes them cool. neither of them have any kind of ego, they’re just happy to do what they do and happen to be very good at their respective crafts
Dude I would be pissing myself in shock I would faint because they are the 2 most coolest dudes ever
An old boy tattoos is still a little bitch about it. Unreal
Tony Hawk made sure younger millennials got a chance to experience an insane amount of good music that we weren’t being shown anywhere else in the 2000’s. For that he’s always got my respect.
100% I was introduced to so much music through tony hawk pro skater games.
"Police Truck" was the coolest thing I'd ever heard as a 12 year old in 1999. Not a chance I'd ever have heard it without the immaculate THPS soundtrack.
Tony Hawk got me into rap, Ska, punk, and some other stuff. Those games have the best soundtracks ever.
Seriously, the first Tony Hawk game reshaped the course of the rock music industry because so many young people were exposed to a curated playlist of the best underground music at the time.
Introduced me to Punk Rock
I love how excited Keanu gets. It’s like he’s the fan 😂
It not like he is ... He is a fan... Do you not know Tony Hawk lol
@@kelb0y9o20 Yes, I am aware 🙄. I was implying he was the fan, as in Keanu was just a regular dude who wasn’t famous.

THPS2 was the first time I heard "When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 500 and "B Boy Document 99" by Mos Def. And that Mos Def song introduced me to hip hop.

@grimrecords7656 you should get the remaster. It's 1 & 2 and the devs added mods so you have perfect balance, perfect grind and never fall. For whatever reason Spiderman isn't in it but it's like a trip down memory lane.
Tony is to skating as Jordan is to basketball. Dude is a legend and always seems to be one heck of a awesome guy
Except Tony didn't lose his father to mobsters over a gambling debt.
@@PowuhToSeven da fuq… next time don’t comment little guy. You are not very bright. Why even say anything like that?? Go outside

Tony hawks pro skater 2 on ps1 was what got me into rock, metal, and hip hop when I was in 5th grade 🤘🏻👽
I can see Keanu raging while playing Super Mario 64
thatd be terrifying
I love that even when he's the guest Keanu often interviews the interviewer because he seems genuinely interested.

THPS is GOATED. It’s such an integral part of so many people’s childhoods.
The Tony Hawk and Need for Speed video game series had some of the best music of any video game franchise at the time. I discovered a range of awesome artists and bands through the games' soundtrack.
John Wick pretending like he’s Keanu Reeves. Wolf pretending to be sheep.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater & Underground developed a lot of people's music taste & introduced a lot of black kids to skateboarding
Tony hawk is an underrated genius, he's brilliant
Who gave him a low rating?
As well as Rodney Mullen
no, he's a dolt. The game saved him, he owed everything to them for asking him to be the face of the game, he had nothing left at all by this point.

Tony Hawk and Keanu Reeves are two of the most humble famous people ever. Such awesome dudes.
I’m from the little town of Ventura. We used to skate as kids at Skatestreet.
Our 10 year old minds were shocked when we saw it featured in the video game.

Really appreciated how Tony Hawk games also represented that late 90s early 2000s underground hip-hop sounds.
Absolutely. Put a lot of good hip hop on the map. As do a lot of skaters and the culture. Certain groups like Jurassic 5 and styles of beyond, living legends are all my favorites
Holy shit! Entrainment! Is one of my fav albums. Love Tony even more.
it’s already been said here but Guerilla Radio in the intro of THPS2 is so mind bogglingly cool just watching all these amazing skaters hit crazy tricks in real life while that song is just absolutely banging. before you’ve even started to play you’re just overloaded with coolness.

Them tony hawk games were something else. I remember playing the demo disc of the first game and being blown away as a kid. I think I liked the third one the most. And the music in that game was so good.
The music from the Tony Hawk games, Burnout franchise and even the EA's NHL games...thank you for introducing us to some amazing bands
I guess the same thing can be said about Asphalt, Midnight Club and Motorstorm.
this comment right here! Those games completely defined the direction of my favourite music/bands
Jet Set Radio and Future had fantastic music as well.
Tony Hawk Underground. One of the dopest soundtracks ever.

His games introduced me to a lot of good music in my formative years that i still listen to today.
Pro Skater 2 is how I found a lot of the music I listened to in High School!
Literally both the clash and germs I discovered through these games. Dead Kennedys, I heard that and was like I'm a punk rocker! Thanks Tony for introducing me to punk rock
surprising keanu didn't have more to say considering hes in a band and probably has had so much influence as well.
I completely forgot he was even apart of this like 20 seconds into it
the guy to the left just randomly calling out his favorite records did most of the responding 😂 he’s all of us in the comments under this video
his band did an episode of whats in my bag on amobea's youtube channel if you are interested.
Keanu is respectfully listening, as usual. Not interrupting and trying to show how cool and knowledgeable he is, like the guy on the left.
this is such a random celeb crossover, but one I love a lot. Two of my favourites.

Tony hawk introduced me to so many bands I never listened to again. but I loved every one of then at the time
Nice knowing 25 years later how much input Tony had on what was included in the games i loved so much as a kid. Underground 2 music was the best.
THUG 1+2 REMASTER PLZZZZ 😢😢
If they did that, that would be the fastest I’ve ever spent money. The first underground was my all time favorite

They can't thx to Activision who forcefully merged VV with Blizzard and majority of Beenox left.
Even TfB who got separated from Activision and working on their own game.
You can thank Activison for dooming entire cb, spyro etc franchise and gave all that into cod marketing...
*I loved the games as a kid. A friend of mine legit stole THPS 2 the same day I bought it. Caused a lot of problems between us.*
Im a 25 year old black dude from South Africa, the only reason I got into skate culture and rock music is solely because of the tony hawk series, THUG 2 was the first one I played❤

Dude keeps interrupting Tony when he's talking is very frustrating
I was about to post that, then I scrolled down to see if anybody else had. Interruptions are a tragically common thing on podcasts and interviews. This is the era of “anyone can be a journalist, look how much I can talk.”
I think he just got excited cause of the bands he mentioned. Don't hate on him for it lol
Tony hawk games were one of the dopest things in this simulation. Music too. What an incredible creation.
Cannot even list the INSANE number of songs/artists I got hooked on from these games. Such a massive win for the culture.

I thought for sure that would happen after they remastered 1+2 a few years back, and the studio behind it did have plans to re-release 3+4 and maybe both THUGs later but as I understand it all plans were scrapped after the Activision buyout, which sucks cuz 3 was my shit growing up, best soundtrack imo

One of the standout songs from Tony Hawk games for me was That's Why They Call It a Union - Less Than Jake
Tony Hawk's Underground introduced me to so many artists. My first disturbed song was Liberate from THUG2 and I've been a diehard fan since

Someone finally asked about the music. The answer was more than I ever could've hoped for.
I was in 7th grade when THPS 1 came out... it was such a formative time, i love that game and I love that soundtrack forever.
This game introduced me to a lot of new bands. Some of them I follow to this day.

Tony hawk soundtracks have been wildly influential to me as a musician. Dude has stellar taste.
so cool! two legends!
Keanu reeves and tony hawk in the same room is amazing
One of the best video games ever. Set the bar so high.
The power of THPS2 was that I ended up hearing half the music and finding out new genres to fall in love with, without ever playing the game. It was so infectious for people that my friends got me onto them. Because of this in 1999/2000 my favourite band was Millencolin, a skater pop punk band from Sweden. And I was a kid in Australia with no exposure to the alt music scene. How did this happen? Because of Tony. Thank you Tony. You helped a neglected young boy's emotions feel validated through the power of music. 🙏🙏🙏
They nailed it, and introduced a bunch of kids to some awesome records. The number of friends my age who reference THPS soundtrack as an entry point to artists they mess with today are so many. Always be grateful to the Hawk Man for that.
Pro skater 2 on Dreamcast was absolute fire in the day.
Keanu is such a rad dude!
The original tony hawk games were too fire man I still remember the sound tracks in the games pure nostalgia for me I spent a good portion of my childhood playing them getting high scores. That airport map I remember going from one end to the next non stop tricks racking up like a million point trick . Too fun
I have never felt older than I have just now watching this clip.
My back hurts.
Dude! I still randomly sing “ This is what it’s like when worlds collliidddeeeeeee are u ready to go cuz I’m ready to go” 😂😂 tony hawks underground introduced me to that banger
