As an example, I just had a conversation with someone in an abolish-all-HOAs video comment section. I pointed out that there need to be some rules, even local government ordinances for things that go over a certain line; For instance, I'd just driven down a small town's main street and seen a house with a 10 foot tall fake skeleton perched on the porch roof, and it had a real toilet sitting in the front yard with a fake person (clothed skeleton) sitting on it...and it's no longer Halloween season. This other commenter said they display things like this in their own yard year-round. I pointed out that there's already an ordinance against toilets in yards, and maybe fake heads on pikes were also not desired by the community. Some people don't see a problem with decorating their public yards and main streets with 10 foot skeletons and toilets all year round. Some of us just want some boundaries...please...nothing too draconian.
What someone does on their property is up to them, once you start regulating things it is a slippery slope, where does it begin? Where does it end? And those in charge of enforcement will always try to extend their power.

I have seen young little girls with bright blonde hair that put food coloring in parts of their hair and look like beautiful flowers. The larger older women hate the beautiful ones, often because their own mothers neglected them when they themselves were little. These older jealous ones dress as a charicture of the beautiful ones.

I want to boil it down even further. The aversion to beauty is a reflection of a mindset "nothing can be better than me". Anyone more beautiful, more intelligent, more moral is dismissed because these virtues either "don't count", or are "societal constructs", or otherwise unfair. Real virtues must be destroyed so that people lacking them don't feel bad. That's why modern art is lauded; why average ladies call themselves 10s; why anyone who fails must have been oppressed; and so on.

However, as comprehensive as it was, I'm wondering if it's possible to distill all this down even further to a single point of origin. Is it possible that the psychology you described stems from emotional immaturity, or more specifically, infantilism? Everything else, the psychology & behaviour being a direct result of this? I appreciate this might be too simplistic but I like understand complexity from a position of simplicity.
I find it fascinating no one in these videos regardless of political view dares to mention massive visible tattoos. Meanwhile blocks away from where I live, I see every day an advertisement for free removal of tattoos to help people find employment, and some of these programs are paid for by the government.

As an example, I just had a conversation with someone in an abolish-all-HOAs video comment section. I pointed out that there need to be some rules, even local government ordinances for things that go over a certain line; For instance, I'd just driven down a small town's main street and seen a house with a 10 foot tall fake skeleton perched on the porch roof, and it had a real toilet sitting in the front yard with a fake person (clothed skeleton) sitting on it...and it's no longer Halloween season. This other commenter said they display things like this in their own yard year-round. I pointed out that there's already an ordinance against toilets in yards, and maybe fake heads on pikes were also not desired by the community.
Some people don't see a problem with decorating their public yards and main streets with 10 foot skeletons and toilets all year round. Some of us just want some boundaries...please...nothing too draconian.
What someone does on their property is up to them, once you start regulating things it is a slippery slope, where does it begin? Where does it end? And those in charge of enforcement will always try to extend their power.

@@lostronin380 I think we only hear and then talk about the most exteme HOA cases, and they are bad (such as not allowing a homeowner to park their own pickup truck in their driveway). Some HOA rules have practical reasons and aren't so crazy. I think the worst part of any HOA is that at any point in time, the rules can change.

Something that might be interesting for those that detest bright coloured hair and body modification: My mother was a hardcore leftist hippie who was naked a lot and had two love children to two different fathers. She hates anything unnatural very strongly so she might be closer in her thinking to the people in the comments here. I have piercings and tattoos and used to have bright coloured hair and she's just as disturbed by that as all of you are here. On the political compass questionnaire I'm left libertarian but I find myself very interested in less left wing people. I find myself watching this persons videos a lot for instance. I'm high in openness so I find people different to me a novelty. My husband is much less left wing than myself, probably close to the centre. I personally got tattoos and piercings before it was so prevolent (Im gen X, basically all millenials seem to have atleast one tattoo), I'd loved tattoos and peircings since I was a teen but I was in my 30s before I did it. I did a lot of research online and found a lot of articles with comments on where men specifically made angry comments about women who had zero relationship to themselves "ruining" themselves and being incredibly angry these stranger women didn't conform to their notion of beauty and making rejecting comments about these women who probably wouldnt like them either. I decided that if these unpleasant men were the ones who hated body modification the most it was probably for the best that they were repelled by me. And that was my final motivation to get my body modifications. I found their behaviour really strange. There are many things I find ugly in this world but it seems very rude for me to broadcast that all over the internet? No?
