    Basic Sleeve (NO DART SET IN SLEEVE AND DARTED SET IN SLEEVE)
    This Tutorial is for beginners in pattern making and wants to have more knowledge on how to create the Basic Sleeve Foundation.
    In this tutorial I also talked about how to manage the excess on the cap of the sleeve, taking the measurements from the bodices, formulas for the armhole depth and bicep or sleeve width, the difference between no dart set-in sleeve and darted set-in sleeve, and a little bit of sewing technique for the sleeves.

    OMG! I got so fed up with making a sleeve pattern that worked with my self made bodice pattern, I quit sewing for almost 2 years. THANK YOU! This fit perfectly, and will be the only method I will use to draft sleeves from now on.

    Thanks for sharing. You are the most clear in drawing the sleeve. The others just show how they draw but never explains why it needs to be drawn. I wish I can sew like you can.

    Can I use my own measured bicep measurement instead of guessing it with the maths at the beginning and same for the cap sleeve and it will still work ? I'm afraid of not getting it right I'm trying to find the best way to do it

    Hi! I would love to use your sleeve method! But i an sorry, i dont understand the formule. Can you give a example in cm? Is t armhole depth diveded by 6 X 5? I am totally lost 😅

      Hi I’m sorry I a not used to working on CMs but you can always convert them here’s an example;
      6 inches X (multiply by) 2.54 = 15.2 CMs

      Yes of course, just multiply the inches to 2.54 et voila you’ll get the measurements in Centimeters

      To calculate inches to centimeters simply use this:
      Example:
      1 inch x 2.54 = 2.5 centimeters

    Hello, is it normal that when I have the sleeve opened, before sewing it and making a 'cylinder' out of it, the two sides of it do not match? I mean, when I fold the sleeve in two, following the grain line, the two sides are irregular, they do not match

      Hi there! Yes in some instances this could be a possibility. But it shouldn’t be more than an inch. So go back again to your pattern, take the measurements of the underarm side seams and if you find an issue on one side, try to fix it by redrafting that side and make it identical to the other side so that they have the same measurements. Tell me if this helps

      1 inch is equivalent to 2.54cm… just always multiply inches with 2.54 and you’ll get the CM equivalent.

      Oh yes, I keep on forgetting since I’m really used to the Imperial measurements. But I will do it on the next videos. But here is a method to convert inches = 1 inch x 2.54 = 2.5 cm
