i think her going nuclear was sort of out of her control, like if radahn had landed a killing blow it would have unleashed the rot anyway, atleast that was how i saw it
@@TheHonoredMadman Millicent literally says “the pride she abandoned, to meet radahn’s measure.” Malenia purposely gave herself to the rot in order to win. Her goal was to defeat radahn and free the stars which was what Miquella wanted. Her devotion/pride probably wouldn’t let her walk away with defeat

What we can't so easily see is what Radahn would have done if Malenia hadn't stopped him. Things like destroying the Haelig tree and reenslaving those within it. If he had captured Malenia (which I seriously think he was trying to do since she is the daughter of Radagon and Radahn loved Radagon) he would have likely taken away her unalloyed gold as it was created outside the Golden Order.
Weird Theory: I don't think Godwyn's plan for Millicent was to be a replacement for Malenia. She's not an Empyrean. She can't replace Malenia. I think the real intent was for Millicent to be an offering to Malenia. It was basically a "Hey, Malenia, I know you think we're terrible people and all but hear us out. You have five daughters, but don't worry! We took care of them for you. They're well. In fact, one has bloomed into an amazing Valkyrie who is worthy to serve you. Will you accept us now and be the vessel for our god? Please? Pretty please?" Which, I can't imagine Malenia being very pleased with those kinds of games. First off, you're offering her what is not yours to offer. Millicent is already Malenia's and they had no right to take her in the first place. Much less, raise her in a way that Malenia wouldn't approve of. I don't think it would be beyond her to not want anything to do with her daughters either. Especially when there's no Miquella to convince her to accept them.
