First of all in the first full game, she does not help you at all. She does not guide you. She does not even appear often but only one did Melina shoot she was always on your side. She would always guide you to where you go to what you should do and she sacrificed her life for you to actually win a war. She sacrifice her own life and she wanted you to actually win and even though she couldn’t guide you throughout the full game still she had to go to her feet now while ranni just casually using you and waiting for you to already beat the game so in this case, she’s not the best you’re just being a Simp or maybe if you play the game well you’ll actually understand who caused this all mess in the first place
I like sekiro alot better story wise for that reason, The story is probably the easiest to understand of any souls game and has twice as many cutscenes , I really hope we get another sekiro involving the interior ministry and another region of Japan

Man, it sure is awesome how she can turn into all those doors you open instead of cutting out when this is supposed to be just cutscenes and dialogue with her.
I truly don't think they're mistranslations. By all accounts, FromSoft was very meticulous about the English VOs, and discussed every line among themselves and with a translator to ensure that the meaning and the emotions behind each line were conveyed properly. I've seen the article claiming her dialogue is mistranslated and I think the author himself misunderstood the character and the setting.

There's also the Rennala boss fight cutscene where Ranni speaks to the Tarnished. That one and the Age of Stars ending cutscene are my favorites.
