@@lances.6850 well, I’ve never tried however, I can bench 500 pounds actually 505 pounds one time. I am testosterone and other derivatives. I wouldn’t doubt it if Blake was on some kind of testosterone therapy, 27 reps is a lot.
He has actually done more than 27 this season, the combine number wasn't his best. He is not even 5 ft 8 inches tall and apparently only 205 lbs. I wonder if short arms help with bench press?
Chop Robinson absolutely was that good at rushing the passer when Penn played Michigan. No question. He absolutely blew by Michigan's right tackle. Michigan could have addressed that issue at least in part by going to their "heavy" set up with extra tight ends...but...
BUT, the other thing that happened was JJ injured his leg in that game, IIRC at the end of the 2nd quarter so in addition to Chop's incredible pass rush, JJ lost mobility and lost a good passing platform. Those TWO factors likely contributed to Michigan switching to the run game with the exception of the one pass play that was called back on a penalty.
JJ played against Maryland and OSU with a very bum leg. Very. It wasn't talked about much - as is typical, teams do not want the degree of injury to be know, but I'm convinced it was a rather severe injury and it showed up in passing frequency and production.

Would love for my Bears to take either Verse or Turner at #9 to pair with Sweat.
Love the idea of either Verse/Turner & Sweat terrorizing Goff, Love, and other QBs for the next four years together!
I'd be good with taking Odunze if he's there at #9, but I would prefer we go with Turner or Verse before him though.
Exactly right and i think thats exactly what will happen. Poles will take turner/verse right at #9.
I have Chop at #2. You cannot coach speed and you have to see how many times he disrupted, rushed, and caused QBs to change their thought process. You can almost see QBs start looking at or feeling Chop when they hit their plant foot. Chop is a very disruptive force! If he gets his upper body to gain some strength, develop some additional pass rush moves, and plan A vs B, he will be elite.

Flores disguises his defenses better than anyone else, so I think Turner will get there sooner than most people expect.

Joel do you struggle at all with discussing rivals? Do you still hold any disdain for nebraska? Curious what that is like when transitioning from a player to an analyst/announcer.
It is insane that scouts still haven't realized production outweighs t shirt and short sprints... Look at the busts over the years... Look at who has succeeded. AD for example. Or failed Mingo, D Jordan ECT. Ect.
If one does 20 reps at 225, please do them correctly i.e. no bouncing the bar off your sternum like a basketball. It’s not only cheating, it’s dangerous.
A 4.5 is disappointing? That's ridiculous & its not all about the measurables because if it was they wouldn't even play the game it would be a big combine just to see who does best

This aged well. Frikin Falcons put a monkey wrench in a couple of teams this draft. Except the Vikings of course 😅
Would have taken Latu over every guy listed here and if not for his past injury stuff i don't think it would be close. That dude compares very well to guys like Garrett, Bosa, Hutchinson etc.. coming out in the 95th to 99th percentile athleticism with pads on and play on the field. Where as Turner actually dropped to the 65th percentile when his pads went on and is much more raw in pass rush moves. This is not a knock on turner either i do like him quite a bit and he is my #3 edge guy behind Latu and Verse but Turner is much less refined and more scheme limited of the 3. Would also say Latu is probably a bit better run defender with his size than Turner as well right now.
