    how exactly does the displacement of the throttle feed into the controller to spin the motor?

    • @zed4me
      @zed4me  7 лет назад

      Joshua Deonarinesingh the throttle is a hall effect throttle. When the throttle is pressed, the controller sees a higher voltage

    Do you fly quads? and what is the C-rating on those LiPos

    • @zed4me
      @zed4me  8 лет назад

      I have a simple one but no I don't really fly them. These lipos are 20-30C discharge rated. I've read not to run them above 15C though.

    • @michaels3757
      @michaels3757 8 лет назад

      cool, i would have gone after some of those 50c's lol would really scream, assuming your ESC could handle it

    • @zed4me
      @zed4me  8 лет назад

      Michael s A lot of those 50C lipos are way overrated. I've used these packs on so many builds, they're the best bang for the buck

    Awesome, I like to convert my 125cc shifter cart to electric...can you please list where you got your parts for the conversion and estimated cost? My karts weight is more so I would need to get more batteries but motor, controller and accelerator should be fine. Please share your sources.
    thanks

  • @orangelego100

    I've never used such a large programmable esc before, but you should see if you can get an exponential curve/control on the throttle. Simply put, on the low end speed you have very fine control, but as you get higher and higher the sensitivity increases. It could make throttle feel more controlled.

    • @zed4me
      @zed4me  8 лет назад

      Any idea how to make that happen?

    • @orangelego100
      @orangelego100 8 лет назад

      well, I'd ask the kind people that has helped you out on all the technical stuff so far as you stated in the vid. I think the better term is "throttle curve", ask if/how to apply it in the settings. Also I'm no expert, but something "advanced" as this might not make a realistic difference in practice.

    what are the specs of these lipo batteries?

    • @KrustyKlown
      @KrustyKlown 7 лет назад

      that Turnigy battery is 4S, 5.0ah, and 20C continuous and 30C peak. His arrangement is 20S2P .. or about 80 volts and 10ah total (looks like he has enough batteries to build two 20S2P packs). THese batteries sell for around $40 each .. or $200 per pack, maybe 5-10min run time? Each pack could put out 200amps .. but he said he was only going to use 100amps ... or 8000 watts ... a bit over 10hp. Sounds about right for the motor he selected.

  • @theq4602

    Yeah...the electric motor itself cost MORE than a 20HP 5 speed+revers brand new 200cc honda clone. AKA the Lifan 200. Costs can be a little less than 400$ sometimes. Oh FYI 20HP = roughly 15KW.
    With the Lifan it comes with just about everything but a gas tank. Even has an electric starter. Meanwhile your spending $1K+ (my guess) with those expensive batteries and electrogizmos on a go kart that won't even go past 30mph. While the Lifan will probably push you past 80mph if you arent a fat ass and get your chain-tire size ratio right.

      30mph!!?? I think not. 10kw is easily enough to get to 60mph with so much more acceleration

    aren't you gonna use a torque converter with that motor?

    • @zed4me
      @zed4me  8 лет назад

      No way. Electric motors don't need torque converters and also this motor would just be too powerful for it anyway.

    • @amrhakimz
      @amrhakimz 8 лет назад

      maybe if you used torque converter (cvt) you will gain speed at lower rpm which save some battery charge or what !!

    • @zed4me
      @zed4me  8 лет назад +1

      amr hakim Torque curve for electric motor very different from gasoline engine. A CVT is not gonna work well with an electric motor in 99% of cases.
