A time-lapsed 26 hour room building project. Most of the build was done in 3 days then a little at a time over the rest of a week. Its called a perma-temp room because one day in the future it will be disassembled to finish the basement properly. Mostly for now its for spare furniture/entertainment media and cats. The windows in this room will have treatments also. Развлечения

Wow. Thanks for showing this video. My dad wont build me a room because he says it'll cost too much and take forever, but this just about proves him wrong.

Great video, what kind of lights did you use for the Daylight Windows? are they LED's going around the window or just one bulb at the top? Thanks!
Dang...... thats quick i need help built a room like that in my garage
I wanna do this
I was hoping for some ideas that aren't so permanent and easy. Like substitutes for walls, etc.
ANY IDEAS ARE APPRECIATED!!!
It's just for my 14yr to have some of his own space.
Thanks!
This isn't permanent at all, you are just screwing screws in the ceiling studs, Sorry for the late reply hope this helps. Like 2 years later.
Thanks,
Chris
So that’s a room built inside a garage or something. What about if you wanted to add on a room to a part of your house externally?
I need to prepare a extra room. Two walls already in two sides I need 10 ×5 with a door. How much are you charging for every thing.
Ur funny
Where's the list of materials?
Hi, did you set up any air conditioning for the room? I am trying to make a room in the garage but can't think of a way where it won't be too hot during summer or too cold during winter. Do you have any recommendations? And how much it would cost me if I were to set up air conditioning?
get a window unit.
Just get a portable A/C unit. tons of it available in different sizes as needed...
what kinda material are yall using for the walls?
Wood grain wall paneling
This is what i need to do to my base ment
Did you guys cover a wall of windows?
No
Are there kits sold to do this to my basement?
No kits. Just measure and customize. Follow basic carpentry standards.
Thus is just what i need in my basement
I see you didn’t nail anything to your floor. How did you make it stable? Nail to ceiling?
Pressure fit and screwed to Ceiling. Secured to floor only by the entrance door to keep the bottom of the wall from swinging out when the door is opened.
Growing Answers Awesome!
y u put insulation on bottom edges? and no insulation on walls? very nice though, good job
The sill seal was in prep for expanding foam. The floor is not level leaving large gaps. It was so the foam didnt stick directly to the floor since its a temp room. There was no need for insulation on the walls. It's within the house. The only purpose it would serve is noise reduction which is not needed.
.. Looks like a wonderful job, but it was actually too fast you can't really see what's going on.
could anyone tell me what's the material for the wall?
hadi. Mdf
Can this be done in a garage?
Of course
I have been wanting to do exactly this in my garage. I am glad I saw someone else has already done it too. I wanted to know first of all, did you insulate it, and second of all, how did you secure it? Did you just use screws or bolts of some kind? Also did you do anything for the flooring? As with you, I want to make mine temporary, so whenever I move I can just pack it up and take it away.
How did you attach the frame to the slab so that it isnt permenent
Also would the design you had be able to hold up a 50 inch tv
UnlimetedMonkey I didn’t. It’s pressure fit to the joists. I only used tapcons to attach the framing to the floor on either side of the door frame. Everything else just holds itself together. I used expanding foam to fill under the framing between the bottom plate and the floor due to the unevenness of the floor. It’s just keeps the wall from moving loosely.
Do you think this design would be able to hold up a tv on the wall? And Can you link me to the panels you used for the wall?
UnlimetedMonkey a tv is currently on the wall. The studs are no different than a regular wall. The panels can be found at Lowe’s. Mdf panels
Hey, Sorry for the late reply but if I added drywall to this exact design how much would that cost ish. I am planning on doing this in my smallish basement, could you maybe help me through planning I am going to college again for architecture in may online. But if you could help me through the planning. that would help a lot, Thanks, Chris
Is a Spanctuary
Forsure the wire job alone was longer then 5 minutes.
That pole. I see what you did there.
@ psdude23 ..I had the same question
I am so sure that you will find good way to make it on woodprix.
I would have camped there with a couch.. no need to build walls that will be taken down.
Comes with its own stripper pole!
In essence it isn't a real 5 Minutes. It's fast-mo of 5 minutes. I know from my own experience this job, assuming all the materials ,tools needed and know how, are on site, this is likely a 6-10 day (+-), 4 hrs per job..And he has free help to boot..And only if job is attacked non stop..Price is similar to my thinking... I'm watching this because I might be building a sealed music teaching/model railroad room within an old old wooden garage from the 40s... Biggest fear is merely ridding this of decades of dust, dirt, cobwebs, paint cans and junk, to achieve a clean work area. Rest is logic and safety.....M
Uh, yeah. The title says time lapse lol.
Can i marry you !
5 minutes my ass.
The title is misleading. The description says it was a time lapse of a 26 hour build.
Annoying fast forward to music.
Lmfao wtf 26 hours ........I do it in 8 hours...oh wait u don't have a skillsaw and compressor with nail gun... I see y it took longer n u work slow
Look out guys we've got a badass over here!
Fabian Orozco ugh can you build a bedroom for me?!
You did a very good job..
Excellent
nice
