Considering he is "just a singer", and he never wanted to be a spokesman, he does a brilliant job speaking up for equality.
For someone that in no way signed up to be a spokesperson or a representative for the LGBTQ community when he became a recognized artist, I think he speaks articulately, passionately and beautifully about a subject that he had no idea would end up being a huge part of his professional life. Incredible man, from the inside out, true beauty comes from the heart, and boy, 'do dat man have heart! ;)

Adam has opened so many minds and helped so many parents and kids. It's amazing that while building his tremendous career, he has been so involved in these projects. He's a very generous caring man filled with love. Anyone with the forture of meeting him knows instantly that he's the real deal. Nothing phony with him.

I'm a straight 24 year old guy but been a huge fan since day one, Adam really has opened my mind up and caused me to be a bit more accepting and open minded about alternate lifestyles, he also seems like a such a geniuenly nice guy which is refreshing in this world of pop.

Adam is an amazing & beautiful person. Constantly faced with criticisms, both from within the music industry & outside of it, & even from people in his own community, he has never deviated from his cause to promote equality, love & acceptance for the LGBT community, even at personal risks. In spite of his fame, he has remained humble, grounded & true to himself. It is an amazing honor that Glaad has recognized his efforts & contributions & for that, I'd like to say, thank you.
So very proud of Adam, especially proud to be a Glambert! Not a day goes by that Adam doesn't amaze me, make me want to scream from the hill tops how much I love and admire this beautiful man. His voice is a magical miracle! I just love him.

I am so pleased Adam Lambert is being recognized for bringing awareness to the LGBT movement. He is a remarkably talented and courageous man who inspires so many people everyday. As a fan since the beginning I have watched him get pulled back and forth between other people's agendas, navigate biases and deflect hate. Being public and proud isn't easy yet Adam makes it seem effortless.

Adam Lambert should be an inspiration to all of humanity. He certainly is to me. His message of equality, acceptance,and love needs to be embraced by all. It is a shame the those who are the most 'religious' are often the ones who are the least accepting and tolerant of those who are different.
I am so thrilled that people are getting to know the real Adam. He is no just a guylinered rock star. Turns out he is a classy, compassionate, intelligent, informed, and REAL person.

He's the most amazing man we've ever had in this world. As an artist and as a person. He opens minds and hearts, inspires so many people, spreads love wherever he goes. Thanks to Adam, many of us know that how someone appears on the surface may not be a true picture of what they're really like. Those small minded people who can't look beyond the surface and only see the gay, guyliner popstar, will never know the real Adam.

First time I saw this I was just too distracted by his gorgeous face. How handsome is this guy? And the speech is perfect honest and heartfelt.
Adam Lambert is the real deal and a total package! This is an amazing speech by a very talented and articulate man. Thank you GLAAD for recognizing Adam. I have met many people who have changed their opinion regarding the LGBTQ community just because of Adam. Maybe someday soon we will all be accepted for who we are and not for who we love.

Adam has educated many by way of example and above all his Honesty about the struggles and the Successes of the LGBT community from his perspective. He doesn't see himself as a minority, he just knows he is Adam Lambert a person who wanst to love and be loved. He doesn't preach, he educates, sympathizes and inspires, with his music and his words. He doesn't hate the haters. THat is why I think he deserves this award. Good for you Adam. Great speech.
Wow this was a while back but every year I go back and watch this and I see the growth of the LGBT community. I love this speech. We can see that he has grown mentally over the 8 years he has been in most of our lives. At the beginning he said that he was trying to be a entertainer not a civil rights leader and as he grew he became aware of that he wasn't just an entertainer he was an icon, an idol, and that his words make a huge difference in what happens and that he is apart of this community and he has a large voice in that, and if his words are one of many that can help the most. Thanks too for recognizing him with Music Artist award...Trespassing is an excellent album, with many songs that speak directly to LGBT experiences (Outlaws of Love is SO beautiful.)

Adam is so articulate - heck if he wanted to be a singing politico someday he could probably do it incredibly well. I love what he had to say - to everyone - in and out of the LGBTQ community. It is all about love and acceptance and realizing we are all One Human Community, as he said in his Rolling Stone interview in 2009. I count him as one of my heroes.

I have been a huge fan of his since forever! He inspired me to come out not only to my friends but to my parents as well. I can happily say that I have been accepted by all and a great deal of that comes from Adam :)

I was there and one of the great moments was Lt. Governor of California Gavin Newsom, as he received his award, saying he was looking forward to hearing Adam, who would receive his award after Newsom ;)

Adam is a Class Act, even with the occasional cuss word, and he is truly an inspiration to a wide variety of people. He sings like an Angel & preaches love & acceptance. It doesn't get any better than that. However, he is still facing his own battle of discrimination in the "radio play" politics in America
