I had the Nintendo Power issue with this game on the cover and never saw it in action until now. Mind blown.

Same here! Didnt realize it was essentially spy hunter, ninja gaiden, and operation wolf all wrapped into one.
i looooooove this game. i remember playing this when i was a kid. it was 3 games in one. and i love the challenge.
Story Spoilers: You are a beat cop who stumbles over a secret organization knee deep in genetic experiments, run by one of the founder's clones, which you are, who expects you to eventually replace them as the leader. You say no.
Behind it all? Umbrella Corporation.
A bit deeper into the story:
Officer Hart is a member of the group known as Vice, which wants to end the evil of the world. One of the subjects used for the upcoming “Project Doom” is missing. Hart says that the missing subject will return eventually and decides not to search for him. Shortly after, a maniac goes loose on the road. Detective Hart kills him, and his car is inspected. The inspection showed an odd gun and the body was not human. Members of Vice find the location of where the evil alien project base. Hart chases after it, and eventually comes face to face with the leader of the whole project. He happens to be a doppelgänger of Detective Hart, which, as I’m aware, created a drug that turns people into aliens. The leader wants Hart to join him, but he refuses. Hart and the doppelgänger fight, where the doppelgänger dies and turns into a beast, which Hart kills, and Project Doom ends up not happening due to the final subject being killed. Although you shouldn’t point fingers at Hart, the subject was evil and could have hurt civilization by continuing his plan.

This used to be one of my favorite games as a kid. Just started playing it again after i downloaded the NES pack with the Switch. Everything came back to me.

How genius is adding the ability to duck while running in an action platformer like this. So damn cool
One of the few NES games I actually owned and somehow I missed that it was being run this year! Oh well, I can watch it now and make up donation at SGDQ.

Never even heard about this before... which is a shame, it looks like a pretty solid game !
US/JP only maybe ? Europe was a bit of an afterthought of an afterthought at the time, so...
I've known about this game since around 2012/2013 and have wanted it ever since. It goes for around $40 I believe. I did manage to track a copy for cheap, about $10, but the case is very damaged so, not ideal.
Also that "Tire" throwing guy, the second guy who said "bolt" was closer to what it actually is. He's clearly throwing a standard nut, albeit very large. you can see the hexagonal angles.
8:30 or so it reminds me of the level in Batman for the nes
