Bottas was never going to beat Hamilton over a season and Perez won't beat Verstappen over a season anytime soon. 2022, was Checo's best chance to win the Championship, given he had the best car on the grid (along with Max). Yet Checo won 2 races to Max's 15. Let that sink in... 2 vs. 15. The only way Checo could have won the WDC in 2022 was if Max didn't race that season. I feel for drivers who are up against the level of talent Verstappen and Hamilton have. The #1 vs. #2 role is different within Ferrari as I think Leclerc and Sainz are closer in terms of talent. But it was hard to tell in 2022 because the team was so terrible from a strategy standpoint and with reliability.

Slim is checos main sponsored, and the new Red bull buss, has bussnises with him, this year will be more difficult to just push Perez aside.
