Do Lewis Hamilton next please haha.
More from Max please!
Checo Pérez and Carlos Sainz!
You should do Kimi Räikkönen. You'll see immediately why hes called "Iceman"
Hello can you do Yuki Tsunoda??? A Japanese F1 driver
Max is very straight forward and honest, sometimes people mistake that for being “arrogant” which I find odd. Max is incredibly humble
I’m really surprised how precisely and correctly this RUclipsr is analysing him.
Because its dutch mentality
The Dutch, we Dutchies (as I am one too), are often referred to as arrogant and rude; especially by English speaking nations with an English style cultural background. Yet we have a way of living where we like to put everyone on the same level (including our king) and just act normal. Being normal and yourself is a thing over here, it is a way of life.
Absolutely true, with Max it's like 'WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET'!
If everybody would communicate more "Dutch" , this world would be a more open and straight to the point community. With maybe a little too much opinions thrown straight at your face though 😉.
Go Holland!! 🇳🇱
The Dutch have the reputation of being down to earth and Max is the perfect example of that. He is always himself. Love the guy.
Right on. Really seems like a cool guy.
What you see is what you get.
Of course he is always portrayed as a bad guy by Sky sports and ham fans
Woah all the dousches have gathered together.. 🙂
"The Dutch have the reputation of being down to earth" is the best translation of "the Dutch are direct" or "the Dutch are rude". For me, as a dutchman, the way Max talks is very natural. Answer a question as clearly as possible without explaining other things and apologize for other things, just answer the question. One line from Max in the past reacting to a complaining opponent who lost was " Well, he should have gone faster". That way, he doesn't say I am better but if the opponent wanted to win he should go faster then me. That is down to earth.
He really is a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of guy. I love his motivation and determination, he also lives a pretty private life outside of F1 which adds to his down to earth character I think (besides being rich 😂)
yeah, i have always felt with lewis (and well generaly british drivers) what yu see is what they want. everything they say, there is a reason behind it, a motivation. and then there is the kimi mode, full no fucks given XD max is a stable middle ground
Max had a unique childhood full of non-stop work and discipline. When you couple that with an even-tempered personality, it's a recipe for success. I think his personality also keeps him from losing his cool when he has a bad race or an accident. You have to push that out of your mind as quickly as possible, and get back to focusing. I can see Max winning for many years to come.
Agreed absolutely, his personality is quite similar to my countryman Rafael Nadal which was also raised in a extremely disciplined and hard work no-nonsense ambient, he is also a very down to earth and relaxed guy. I definitively believe that children gets benefited by being raised in a disciplined and work oriented ambient, some people relates that with violence which doesnt make any sense.
let’s not be too quick to praise Jos. Max is phenomenal, but imagine how much better he might be if Jos kept it only to tough and disciplined, instead of repeatedly crossing the line into abuse. no one with an opinion worth listening to would suggest that abuse is anything other than an obstacle to overcome.
@@missashleymacmacmac There is not one shred of evidence that Jos physically abused Max. It's all internet rumor and shoddy reporting.
He just won his SECOND World Championship.. Huge Max fan!! Great analysis. You verbalized all the reasons I’ve become a Max fan. Thanks for the great content!
Jaaaa super Max!
And now his 3rd. Today 10/7/2023.
A few times he got angry post-race and he couldn’t hide his anger. He is genuine in his respons. He is a joy for the sport as a pure athlete, mentally and physically.
Some traits are Dutch in a way, just things we like to see in a person.
As most Dutch, Max is very straight forward without the need to be afraid to step on someone's toes. Sometimes this is mistaken for arrogance, but as a Dutchman myself, I think this makes communication much clearer.
Sure Max knows where he talks about!
This boy is a prodigy. His car control is multiple levels up
One reason Verstappen won the championship last season and this season as well is because he understands racing, racing cars and the mechanics behind it. He knows what he wants from a car and how to communicate this to the mechanics. He gives good feedback, information they can actually work with.
I love this analysis and you are so spot on when it comes to his personality. A lot of people like to say that he's arrogant, but he's not. He's confident, not arrogant. Love how you mention that he's even keeled, because it's exactly what he always says; that he tries to not get caught up in either the positive or the negative and remain neutral instead. To me he's always seemed very mature for his age. I remember watching an interview with him where he was 16/17 years old and I was so impressed by the level of maturity in his answers.
And yeah, the reason a lot of people love him is that he's very genuine, honest and direct. This guy doesn't do bullshit. Just says what he thinks even if it might not be politically correct or what people want to hear. I love that about him.
"Just says what he thinks even if it might not be politically correct or what people want to hear" exceptions are always happening but without wanting to sound arrogant that's generally how people in the Netherlands are. Direct sometimes even too direct we don't beat around the bush or do white lies.
@@randar1969 I think I want to move to the Netherlands
Let’s be honest most of the people who hate him are Lewis fans
@@squidca2455 You are welcome! But remember it's a small country with lots and lots of people. 🤣
@@anaguq4651 haha that might be rough on me then coming from Canada!
I think one of the reason he seems so mature at only 24 is because he was thrown into the adult world extremely young : Max got into F1 at the age of 17 (youngest driver ever) and since then he matured A LOT.
Last year had a pretty huge impact as well I believe, he had a crazy, stressful, title fight with Lewis Hamilton (just your regular 7 times world champion lol). No room for mistake, never getting comfortable, until the very last lap of the very last race (this is not a metaphor, he won the championship at the last minute, that's what he's talking about in this interview) !! Last year was a defining moment in his personal growth.
This year, he's been so confident (not arrogant) in himself, his capabilities, the car. I think last year was so intense that it gave him 20 years of experience in 1 lol. He was kind of known for his anger issues (on the radio...) but now he's so calm and collected.
I wasn't into F1 when he started, I only got to know him later on. I don't know if my opinion on Max would be different if I knew him before but right now I can say I love the guy. This is the kind of person you want to see succeed.
Btw Max is, since this morning, a 2-time-world champion !!! Congrats to him !!
I didn't expect you to react to f1 drivers, but I'm so here for it! There are such different interesting personalities in the paddock at the moment! I'd love to see you react to more, especially Daniel Ricciardo and Charles Leclerc. Hamilton, Gasly, Vettel, Ocon would be good choices as well. From a communication point of view, they all express themselves very differently.
Ooohhh I would love to see this as well, 🥰especially the comparison between all the drivers and how they communicate! I have SO many opinions (more feelings) about them. Gasly for instance always seems such a hothead, but at the same time I've seen him be exceedingly gentle. Ocon, seems secritive and giving at the same time?! Ricciardo... his smiles confuse me. Vettel, very very open type of guy, and very knowdledgable too, ... oh I would love to see the reactions to all of them as a "grid".
Pretty please @Max Beaumont?
Alonso! :D
Alonso too. He's like Max, but different.
SEB!!! Come one people!!! Look at the older guys then the kids. Seb, Alonso, Checo, Danny, Bottas etc
The Honey Badger, the Wily Fox, and the Iceman. Give us Ricciardo, Alonso and Raikkonen, please!
For somebody who's first language is not English, he's incredibly articulate. Well done for 2021 and 2022!
his accent is quite good as well. most dutch people have a terrible accent and i'm saying this as one myself.
but i think dutch people are generally fluent in other languages maybe because dutch is not very used often outside holland
@@anurag15271 nah, not at all. we have noticeable thick accents when speaking alot of foreign languages.
@@Bearical so do people from other countries. Nothing wrong with having an accent. Nobody expects us to be fluent without an accent.
@@movo721 true, but our accent is quite ugly imo
You summed up exactly why I like Max, he’s just a strait shooter, doesn’t have a manufactured for camera personality like some other popular driver
He's a simple guy, open, honest and direct it's true, but a great person. I think his goals are very clear in his head and heart. He's what he's.
Max is genuine, its why I like him.
At the end, Max didn't mean he'd take the number 1 spot (i.e. win), so it wasn't a statement of confidence. He meant he would take the number 1 on his car, which is tradition for the champion in F1. Not everyone takes the number, though, hence the interviewer asked, and he confirmed.
Max generally isn't the kind of guy to say "I will win". Like you pointed out, he's much more pragmatic.
Max has grown up in front of the world and he is definitely more mature than he was when he started. I think the influence of having Carlos and Daniel as his teammates and the support of RedBull have helped this
Another thing is that these F1 drivers are all highly intelligent individuals (otherwise they wouldnt be in F1 , just racing talent is not enough) and are thrown into the Media, have communication with hundreds of team members when they are not racing doing charity work etc. They seem impressive because they are. Far from your average Joe.
Interesting stuff. Looking forward to checking out some more.
Yeaahhhhh oure Max!!! The GOAT!
He is dutch like me and we are in the Netherlands very down to earth. Just be normal and then your crazy enough👍👍💜
I love this kid. Yeah he’s had some moments of real immaturity as a younger driver but every interview he seems to have grown older and more wise. He’s a two time world champion and he’s as far from narcissistic as an F1 driver can be. He didn’t even have any negative words about the way that he won the second title in Japan. He doesn’t care; he’s just there to win. They can keep the all the celebration.
I think Max is really genuine and like you say A LOT of people mistake his confidence for arrogance.
Max got his 2e Worldtitle today and still as honest as the beginning. The Dutch mentality is coming realy true in this intervieuw. Loved it.
Max is the best in communication
max is so genuine. i love him!
Verstappen is an all around good guy with a very competitive nature.
I think you nailed it. I had very similar thoughts watching this interview that I wasn’t able to be as precise in identifying as a pro like you. Max is definitely one of the most ‘real’ elite athletes you’ll find in any sport and that’s a testament to how he was raised and I think in his extreme confidence in himself
Alright. That was mighty pleasant to watch. Not just because of your honest and realistic interpretation regarding his verbal and emotional expression, but also because it gives me a chance to further detail something about the Dutch that is widely misinterpreted. We as Dutch have a certain mentality that is best described in the words we literally use to approach that ideology, and it is common use throughout our culture "Doe normaal" translates to "Act normal" these 2 words are kind of keystone to the direct mindset we as Dutch live by. Our Directness is often interpreted as rudeness, but in reality it is just down to earth honesty. There is no beating around the bush, no sweet talking, we say what we think and we are open to both negative and positive feedback without it being a bourdon but instead a contribution to speed up progress and resolve.
So for those who live in a more "be careful what you say" mentality culture it can be quite a shock and I can fully relate to it. But now you know, it is (almost) never an attack or emotional conflict but rather a realistic and truthful approach to skip all bureaucracy and get straight to the point.
Thanks again for your input and fair content.
Appreciate the comment. My pleasure.
well said !
Can confirm. I use the phrase 'doe normaal' (act normal) alot in this context
On the other had this "doe normaal mentality" could also lead to everyone trying to "act normal" and fit in, instead of being 100% themselves (so basically holding in your true self). As someone living in the Netherlands for a long time now, but not born and raised here, it's sometimes difficult for me to read "native Dutch", as you mentioned "honesty" being a Dutch thing, but I'm not to sure about that. Sometimes, it does feel as if people are literally trying to "act" normal (down to earth, to fit the standard) instead of being themselves. Not everyone, of course (especially the younger generation, I think, seems less limited to "act normal"), as for most the "doe normaal" mentality is probably a real thing.
@@revirdkcalb the act normal mentality is not as much someone altering his charachter to please others. Its just the way we are. And if there is one thing we are, its ourselves, we speak our mind, we say and act on what we think, this automatically translates to truly being yourself. Fitting in will always be a human trait, but in this context has really no application in regard with our cultures brutal honesty. We can be so hard and honest that again a lot of outsiders concider it as arrogance and rudeness. I value your opinion but in my experience it does not correlate with the *doe normaal* expression. The thing is we dutchies are quite silly, crazy, liberal, wild having those traits inbedded in our way of life requires exactly a little normal. Hence we have a additional little part that goes with " doe normaal" and that is "doe maar normaal dan doe je gek genoeg" translates " just act normal than your acting crazy enough " cheers be well and have a good day.
That is a good assumption from you ,
about Max.
Just spot on .
Good on you, and stay safe . Greets from Noord-Holland ,the Netherlands .
Thats max v. Straightforward human being.
I think you analysed “our” Max very well…. He is indeed very mature for his age…. Very nice video!! I will look the other video’s up as well!!!
Thanks Mark!
The number 1 at the end refers to his racing number. The F1 world champion gets the choice to race under race number 1 rather then their old number (33 for Max) for the next season. Max will be driving under race number 1 for the 3th year in a row next season! The former reigning world champion, Lewis Hamilton, did not drive with number 1 but kept his 44 number troughout all his post-championship seasons.
Oh, we're the doing the F1 now, too?! I am here for it! And your analysis of Max is on point, good work.
MAX is direct, honest, a perfect Dutch! (with some Belgian, that is the humblie in him).
Hello,
As a dutch person and F1 & Max fan. Jep Max is pretty down to earth, fun, and nice realistic guy. An example in many ways towards the younger generation.
This weekend championship number 2🍀🏎🙂
Very nice to watch a new content on my youtube algorithm😀😀😊
Max is one of the most real personalities on the grid and paddock, I really love to see you react to more pilots :) I have watch him with interviews on the screen since he started his career in the F1 grid at the age of 17 (being an avid race fan) so there is alot of growth in him and why he is super mature and confident at his age of 25. But alot of people cannot understand his sense of straightforward no BS attitude that is translated as cocky when he is just him. Thank you for reacting to him in terms of his communication.
You are spot on with his personality! The one thing I will say though, when he the interviewer said "You will take the number 1?" and Max responded "Yes" with zero hesitancy, they were not talking about winning, they were talking about him using the number 1 one his car (instead of his usual 33, taking the number 1 is reserved for reigning World Champions) because he won the World Title.
Max is a beast
I'm impressed that you got him & his personality within seconds of hearing him speak.
I would be interested in your analysis of his board radio, when he is dealing with disappointment.
Think you nailed it :D Something I've always notice is that Max is one of the few drivers that doesn't wear sunglasses during interviews. He wears sunglasses like anyone else but generally takes them off before interviews. Small thing that makes such a difference in the approachability and human connection. Taken the number one is a reference to the championship winner being able to chose if he/she will drive with the race number "1" the next year or keep their usual number (Max is #33)
It helps being Dutch, they're the most down to earth and pragmatic people i've ever met.
Very direct people
Nice insights! You could watch his first interviews in F1 as a 17 year old to be really shocked about his level of maturity!
Great analysis! I’m really impressed how genuine and articulate he comes across in a second language
One short annotation, when the interviewer asked; you will take number 1 and Max said yes, he wasn't talking about winning again, but that he will put the number 1 on his car. In Formula 1 the only one allowed to put number 1 on the car is the championship winner
I loved this! When I suggested F1 I wasn't sure you'd be up for it, but it's so interesting to hear you talk about a new area, especially with Max! Absolutley love the guy, he's awesome!
Wow, as an f1 fan and so pretty familiar with Max, I find it amazing how much you nailed this. I’m definitely checking out who else you did.
Lewis Hamilton would be a cool next choice, he’s the polar opposite of Max personality wise. It’d be interesting to hear your thoughts.
Max is just pure, you just can’t hate him
The amount of hate he and his girlfriend get is out of this world. Especially from the Britsh media and fanbase
@@else1133 They’re british so it’s to be expected
Oh! So unexpected: Max analysing Max!
Haven't watched yet but I'm really curious because I'm Dutch myself!
I have to admit... his name drew me in.
And nice! Hope you enjoy :)
Ha! That was fun to watch, thanks! I think you nailed it. To be honest, I'm not sure I like Max but I have huge respect for his strong mind and communication skills. He's just extremely professional, especially considering his young age. It was nice to see you were so positive about him, made me see him in another light.
Also, his down to earth attitude whilst at the same time keeping it real is very Dutch. It was nice to see you appreciate that.
Btw. Did you know Max almost became world champion again today? He had a bad qualification so couldn't make it this time, but he's strongly in the lead so it won't take long.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I honestly had no clue. Interesting timing for this video. I think I may check out more of the F1 scene and see what it's all about.
@@maxpbeaumont He became world champion (2nd time) last weekend in Japan.
Max is generally a down to earth and personable individual. His confidence (some would say arrogance) comes from his driving ability.
You should do Kimi Räikkönen. You'll see immediately why hes called "Iceman"
That would be the shortest analysis ever
May or may not know Max is Dutch and of course English is probably his third of fourth language? Max also was in Formula One at the age of 17, that is unprecedented. He is current world champion winning against Lewis Hamilton last year, Lewis is BTW a seven times world champion. Max is on track to comfortably win this year (2022) as well.
English is definitely the second language for most Dutch people, nowadays, if they don't grow up with another language in the house. Yes, we do learn other languages in school, too, like German and French, but most people don't use those that often afterwards. (Unless you have the specific need to, or, when it comes to German, when you live near the border, where the dialect is often close to German.) English is everywhere, on the other hand: online, tv, movies, music, etc.
@@MrFloppyHare For someone born in Belgium, French certainly is the second language, German and English would be after that.
But he never was a fan of school, and he may have had much more exposure to English than to French.
However, in those fun videos that he made for RedBull, it is very clear that he understands and speaks French.
Engineer loves him for sure, he is very straight forward on what he is saying

Loved the video! Thanks! LJ
The "you will take the number 1" refers to the actual number 1 on the car that world champions are allowed to drive with instead of their personal race number (33 in max's case) and not the win next year.
Ahhh gotcha
I was going to comment this too! Lewis had kept his 44, so I think they just wanted to check what Max would be doing

You pegged him many dislikes him but mainly because he’s really good I’ve watch f1 for a long time but Max is a special talent
Great analysis Max! Subscribed! Cheers from Holland!
"taking number 1" in racing context means that will be his car identifier. In 2021 he was car number 33 (as you can see on his cap) Only the current champion is allowed to drive with identifier 1. The previous champion didnt, he stuck with his old number instead of switching it to 1.
I think you need to watch more of max interviews and press conferences

Great video Max, basically summarized my opinion on Verstappen. Him and Vettel have become kind of role models for me in the way they are straight forward and open in how they communicate. You know where you stand with them which can only be a good thing especially with professional relationships.

nice analysis, and you may also add this one: he already is worrld champion of 2022! Next goal is being the first F1 driver, getting the largest number of wins in a whole year!
Last sunday hw got the second WC (two times in a row). I am also a communication expert and love the way you analyse this video. You have to know the dutch way... We are down to earth.... don't like say words als greatest-bigger-best-number1.........we let say other people this about us........
Max is not cocky/arrogant, but also not insecure/weak it's a great balance to be honest.
the number 1 thing is for the car number. number 1 is reserved for last year's champion to place on car and a champion can choose to use or not to use it.
Started watching f1 in 2017. What’s crazy is if you watched from then on (he started in 2015 so I was a little late) you literally saw him grow up his interviews from the early days he definitely came off more immature and a little arrogant. But he was also a teenager lol so it was to be expected. It’s cool tho seeing him grow as a person.
i love your videos! i subscribed to your channel because of your videos on kpop idols and now im really excited to see you check out some f1 drivers (another 'world' i am really into, as well). i would love to see you react to some other drivers like daniel ricciardo, charles leclerc or carlos sainz jr., maybe...?
thank you for always sharing nice and interesting videos.

aaah yes we need more formula 1 stuff!! i think it’ll make for good content
His immense talent allows him to be just himself. And that's enough.
Nice to see. 👍 and now he is for The 2nd time worldchampion F1.
Omg I watch all your BTS videos but never thought I'd see an F1 video. Awesome! Would love to see you react to Leclerc and Ocon 💜
Max from my opinion has that professionalism personality. His not there to dominate, his there to progress in the every grand prix.
holy shit it’s been awhile since i’ve watched but now i’m seeing so much f1 here how fun!!
I think Max's mindset is very fascinating and different from the rest. When drivers get the question how do you think the next race will go for them they always say there expectations but with Max you get always a very realistic answer with i don't know.
Interesting also what he say is that he doesn't judge as something good or bad so he doesn't get involved in a rollercoaster of different emotions.
It says it all when he plays fifa or is finding set-ups for iracing before a race when every other driver need to prepare mentally.
I admired how did reaction 🎉😮😊
Max - real
Lewis - grateful + love conquers all
The number one is the number shown on his car, you can only pick the number one if you were champion the season before
His DNF interviews are a class apart especially. Whenever I am down I just look at his interviews to regain positivity. F1 drivers are just built different man nd their mental strength is just crazy!
People will never admit it due to Senna and the tragic way he passed and the tragic event that happened the to OTHER all time great Schumacher, but Max may go into the books as the best F1 driver ever. Won 2 years in a row, and not even halfway into this season nobody can touch him, and everyone feels he he's got this in the pocket being way to dominant even more so than last year in which he already was super dominant. He's very disciplined, also very hot headed and takes everything extremely serious regardless if he already won the event for the year, always keeps pushing in every situation, but in his personal he's a party animal, very normal and loyal to his old friends, he takes along with him to party and pays their expenses. Only thing you can say about him is his extreme competitiveness and hot headedness, like his team mate did him ugly at some stage last year so when he already won the season on paper he prevented his team mate from becoming 2nd in the standing by winning the race himself against orders from the team and replied, you guys should know why and he knows. Also he got into some altercations when he felt people did him wrong, every race to him is like a championship even when in terms of points nobody can pass him. In his free time he's also among the best simulator drivers which is very different from F1 racing and he also takes that extremely serious and got very pissed of when the event he participated did him dirty allowing him to lose due to some errors on their end. ''Not a emotional guy'' He's very emotional lol, and yeah he does take also good care of his family bought his sister like a 8 million dollar appartment. Whether you like him or not, he's as real as they come.
I know you from the skz videos and watched them all but f1 is my other passion so this is such a crossover for me
Loved it! Checo Pérez and Carlos Sainz should be next!
That's what is so much fun about these different personalities in F1, it's an international sport, therefore you also see different culture trades. Dutch people are just really straightforward and this can sometimes come across as arrogant. I would say the closest to Dutch people in Europe are probably Scandinavian cultures which are also pretty straight forward. I am from an ex Dutch colony and therefore bi-cultural and it's funny how big the differences can be between my family and dutch friends and people around me. I love Dutch people and I am probably culturally also more dutch myself than anything.... lot's of funny clashes with my family ;p. The one thing I really don't like is how curious Dutch people can be, they ask you straight forward the most personal stuff, like fo real!....that's where I am typically Caribbean ;) :p
