Hey Gribs! I’ve had mold grow on my cigars after I used a block of wood dipped in tap water to humidify them. I learned my lesson and if you get mold on your pipe tobacco it’s going to look hairy and plume will have sugar crystals. Plume will also brush off like dust and mold will clump together like lint. A sure way to tell us use the old sniffer. Mold will smell like bad cheese and fermented tobacco will smell sweet and sour and can sometimes can have a barnyard funk. And I know it sounds weird and I don’t have a better way to describe it, but most farm boys will get it. It’s like the sweet smell of fermenting hay. Or think about playing hide and seek in the woods as a child and do you remember the sweet smell of rotting foliage while hiding under trees? Doesn't that bring back good memories? That’s why I love pipe tobacco! Anyhow, once you have some experience with mold and plume it’s pretty easy to tell the difference, but if you’re not confident, don’t smoke it! Cheers!
Im happy to learn that you weren't deleted by the humongous swirling spider like ai tornado. Ive been through several tornadoes and close enough to see them at a sorta safe distance many times. Growing up in tornado alley i spent many nights fully dressed with my boots on in bed listening for the weather radio alarm or the rage roar of the storm outside to hit a certain pitch. With that feeling of barely controlled terror and giddy excitement at the same time. There isn't a damn thing you can do about it. Its the luck of the draw. Last week a town near to where my parents live in Oklahoma was mostly destroyed by a tornado. From the pictures and video ive seen, its hard to believe only one person died. Tornados are a good reminder to get your shit in order. Or, if you get hit by one, it's a good reminder that you didn't need all that shit anyway.
Dude last year a tornado hit my neighborhood. I live about thirty minutes south of Atlanta. Within about thirty minutes of us hearing about the tornado me and my kids were hiding in our closet… I hear silence and then a crash. I looked out of the closet and my dresser and tv and roof of my bedroom were demolished. The whole neighborhood was wrecked and the roads impassable. I ended up running up the hill to the top to of the street to meet a ride out climbing over trees and power lines while holding my daughter on my shoulder and my son In a car seat. In retrospect I felt like Forrest running to save bubba but I was scared for my life.

I've been through earthquakes hurricanes and tornados but nothing comes close to using the bathroom when I was a kid after my dad finished giving birth to whatever only god knows of what came out of his ass, what a way to be remembered
