My personal theory as to why Xavier isn't classified as an Omega level mutant is because he actively holds himself back all the time. He has the potential to be an Omega level mutant but stops himself from reaching his max potential.

@@nate7631 gambit doesn't hold himself back he doesn't know how to tap into his full potential. Hence the reason Mr Sinister had to operate on him to unlock that part of his "mind"

No he also holds himself back as well, or at least tried to before he had his powers nerfed. There's a version of him that actually had to learn how to hold back his power and soon gained control because if he didn't. He would have easily killed everyone on earth. Which is something that he still ends up doing.
Edit: Forgot to mention how the prime version of him stopped holding back and actually learned how to control his powers to go against the version of him that had complete mastery over his powers.
Well one thing he got wrong is what Omega level Exodus is. Exodus is an Omega Level Telekinetic not telepath

Professor X is so powerful, the vast majority of the time the writers have to find some way to keep him off the battlefield.
Wisdom is not a mutant power. But if you have incredible wisdom coupled with his alpha mutant powers, I believe it gives him the ability to be an overachiever. I've never felt that Xavier's powers defined him. It was always self-control and wisdom.
Small correction: It's never done again (to my knowledge) but Professor X was able to survive a car crash (I believe around Juggernaut's first appearance) by forming a telekinetic shield around his body. So he sometimes has physical powers.

He can’t resurrect himself at all.
I don’t think he can resurrect himself as in his psychical body once it’s destroyed,, he can however move his consciousness into another body
@Arris... can you reach out to the Marvel publishers and let them know that 1) if Charles Xavier is going to be portrayed as a psionic alpha level mutant but 2) when battling omega level threats he actually wins... then 3) Charles Xavier should really be classified as an omega level mutant. Otherwise, the classification between alpha and omega really has no distinction depending on the mutant in question. Thank you!

Jean to me may be more powerful but she is garbage without the Phoenix force and I would like for you to bring it up Jean lost to exodus Cassandra nova . I did my research and I concluded the only person who can truly rival Xavier is Emma frost . She has the resume and beaten too many people yet the took her name out of the omega level list

Who are all OMEGA LEVEL MUTANT .
Time and time again this girl show her skill and proves her self to rival Xavier in terms of it and she is already more powerful than him. But I am more focused on feats and techniques. And Xavier and Emma frost display better than Jean
And also notice that every time Jean and Emma fight Jean either has the Phoenix to beat her or emma is depowered for some reason 🧐🧐🙄 psi favoritism bullshit. Jean has never actually beaten Xavier nor Emma without some bs or an upgrade to Jean grey.
Dope play home boy me and few of my comic heads have been talking about Xavier for a long while and he's more of a theat boss aka power house then almost ever comic character. That being said thanks for shining some light
Xavier has discretion/ restraints and never really "unleashed" his power. He is a highly skilled telepath and has raw power, but he holds back as to not cause great harm.

Charles was able to beat an Omega level mutant as an alpha level mutant probably due to experience with the power. Like Master Roshi in the Tournament of Power arc, he's an old man and wipes the floor with opponents that are more powerful than him
In DB case, it's a bit more bullshit.
The power scaling since the original series was super borked and only got worse. Dragon Ball was rarely if ever about actually overcoming odds and use tactics. It was always who had higher power levels or new guy is more powerful than the last. Even in Roshi's case, he simply outpowered stronger opponents... Not outsmart them.

yep if he thought a peak jean grey or nathan summers or even rachel summers he's probably lose (and that's without taking into account that we still haven't really seen their full power since they have a tendency of dying before they get at full power)

@@cunnyman Roshi could not out power someone stronger than him he had a greater understanding of the body and how to best apply his martial arts. There are tactics in his case and the same for the sayians they do train relentlessly to fight above where they were previously.
There are many tactics used in DB series, one was Goku using instant transmission to get beneath Cell firing a charged Kamahamaha upward instead of down towards the planet. The time Goku outsmarted a general of the Red Ribbon army in the break between the Cell Games.
Cell was ambushing everyone until he got his perfect body.

Charles probably has a lot more experience than the telepaths he goes up against. Although he's not an omega level mutant his experience and tricks puts him on top he probably mastered his gift . kind of like hard work beats talent...
Charles has decades of extremely high-level training, learning, skill, knowledge, tricks, wit, craftiness, slight of hand/mind, experiences, battles & wars which "transforms" Xavier's "Alpha" telepathy "Omega"....
This is crazy. He's clearly an Omega Level Mutant /Telepath.
Xavier has always felt like a missed opportunity for me. I think it would be way more fun with a mutant who could read minds but not control them. Then you could actually remove him from the wheelchair and get him more involved in the stories without everything turning into a plot hole. Add telepathic communication and he'd be a really useful member of the X-men without being too powerful.

I figured it was because they seem to link his vast powers to his inability to walk. So while he has omega level powers, since it has an adverse affect on his body, he's actually only alpha level because of it. As in he doesn't have full control over his powers and why he can't be labeled an omega.
However, that doesn't seem to be remotely the case anymore or ever. His fight with Lucifer and then the Muir Island Saga physically caused him to lose his ability to walk, twice. It seems there was never really a link to his powers and his legs in the comics.
The animated series and the movies don't help much as they show his powers directly linking to his leg usage. Which is probably where I got it from. While I did read the Muir Island Saga as a kid, I mainly got into everything during the aftermath which was the boom that everyone else got in on too. So TAS was as big a part of the X-Men to me that the comics were.
Charles would be Omega level…if you gave his wheelchair rocket thrusters.
He actually have a mechanical leg that help him walking, which kinda badass. Idk why they did not use that often

Alpha Level Mutants have alot of power, but I feel as if they hold back or use their powers correctly(like in control of their powers). Omega level mutants have unlimited potential and holds almost immeasurable and outstanding power, but because of this, I feel that these mutants need to learn how to control and use their powers.

After reading Powers of X and House of X, I still can't rap my head around one question: How the hell is Charles alive or is he from an alternate universe.
Every chart I've ever seen on mutants has Professor X being Omega level not Alpha level
You know, I realized FOX really down graded Prof. X's Powers

you forgot to mention the part were he gets killed afterwards by Phoenix force possessed cyclops
Resisting Phoenix Cyclops isn't all that impressive considering Cyclops could have killed him at any moment and does so immediately after (it's not Cyclops's fault, he was trying to resist the Phoenix's influence).
Charles did the same to other members of the Phoenix 5, so it was no fluke. Even against Dark Phoenix the writers did not want to have him win alone so Jean had to be an influence or Charles is on some unexplored level they cannot and will not credit him for.
@DANI SPhoenix is on that level Marvel writers fail to fully express, So it gets lofty every time it appears, yet Charles still manages even with Jean doing something to help herself it was not 100 % her doing. Potential is only a what maybe not what is, that applies to nearly everyone, Marvel wants to keep the characters with room to grow so their is no ceiling or cap the abilities.
Xavier is an alpha level mutant, this is true, but he has a lifetime of training and experience in his power. The Omegas, used to their absurd levels of power, lack his understanding. Even if I have a fully loaded M314, a single, well trained sniper can take me out with one shot from miles away.

Scott R he sails half because Scott only had half of the Phoenix force in him at that point. The other half of the Phoenix was possessing Emma Frost.
@Daniel Belair yes but in the next panel you can see that Cyclops got really mad and broke out of Dr. Strange, showing professor Xavier didn’t even need Strange’s help to restrain him while being mad.
Still tho, Phoenix F. Cyclops ended up overpowering and killing him (maybe X wasn’t going all out as for not to hurt him?) so this is a bad example right off the bat.
