    Asmodeus could probably get to the top of Mount Celestia because he recognizes the evil in his heart and accepts and embraces it. He knows what pure good is and is intimately familiar with it, but knowingly chooses to reject it

      @sagesheahan6732 5 лет назад +6

      He also used to be among the gods and angels, ssooo why wouldn't he know a back door or something? Like, when it comes Asmodeus, the God of Sin and King of the Nine Hells, the asshole sort of does what ever the hell he wants. That's part of the charm and horror of that p.o.s.

    The Book of Exalted Deeds (3rd edition book) has a bit of lore about some of the archons that you mentioned here. If you are planning on running a campaign that involves being on Mount Celestia, I would suggest grabbing that book for lore and ideas.

    This may be an odd topic, but maybe you could go over old edition classes not in 5e (like the Sword Mage or Warden) and maybe even talk about good ways to homebrew them or good homebrew options already out there that bring these classes into 5e. Thought it would be a fun idea since I love listening to you guys talk about classes.

    In an ongoing campaign right now I'm playing a neutral aligned character (imagine Loki but as a female gnome) who's ultimate goal is to achieve godhood. I could just imagine her wandering into celestia and aggravating people until she gets thrown out of heaven XD

    Celestia sounds like a combination of Dante's conception of Purgatory and Paradise to me.

      Joshua Christy the 9 hells(Baator) are based upon Dante’s inferno where hell was a cone of 9 levels what have you. Celestial would be it’s inversion oriented towards the sky

    I believe in Classical Latin, JOVAR would sound like 'Yowar'
    Also, in case people missed it, the seven heavens are named after the seven ancient astrological 'planets' moon mercury venus sun mars jupiter and saturn. So the correct hermetic order as well.

    Seeing as how Asmodeus's backstory and lore draws heavily from Satan and his depictions in Paradise Lost and the Book of Revelations, I could see Zaphkiel being the analogue to the archangel Michael. In the Book of Revelations, Michael is the one who defeats Satan and banishes him from Heaven, and in Paradise Lost, he is the one who wounds Satan during the Angelic War. For D&D, I could see this translating into Zaphkiel being the one who recognized how truly corrupted Asmodeus had become through the Blood War and enacted the gods' will by banishing him from Mount Celestia. Doing so gave Asmodeus his signature uncurable, ever-bleeding wounds and he has held a grudge against Zaphkiel ever since. I thought of this when you mentioned having a campaign where Asmodeus recruits a party of evil player characters to assassinate Zaphkiel. I think added lore like this would make such a campaign much more interesting as it would flesh out the conflict between Mount Celestia and Baator with both of its respective leaders having an ongoing personal rivalry. Besides, I think it was high time that Asmodeus got himself a proper rival in D&D lore. Sure, the lesser archdukes of Baator may try to openly overthrow him once in a while, but he has thwarted them time and time again.

    the second layer has books and lore and pretty much any book a wizard would like in their library. artificers can also have fun here doing their inventions. martial classes can go on quests to learn fighting techniques (aka feats and skills and whatnot)
    the fifth layer has domes of precious stones like rubies and all that. also somewhere in either the 5th or 6th layer has a fountain of youth (probably more than 1 with differing "effects")

    I think Bahamut being able to freely traverse 4 levels is a neat detail. Bahamut isnt going to attack any of the levels and seize control in a bid for power. Everyone can just assume that, since he's a pretty cool dude, they can leave him be. That shit would NOT fly in Baator. Because other Devils cannot be trusted.
    Its an interesting way that the difference between the 2 forces of lawful good and lawful evil manifests itself.

  • @DavidBrown-fx7li
    @DavidBrown-fx7li 6 месяцев назад

    The book of exalted deeds was an engaging attempt to describe the planes and forces of good. This said it lacks grace. If a character/ npc was an affliction which cannot be healed by any magic found on any material plane they have to wait until “good enough” , if they don’t die first to get help??? If you have ability to help you do. Zaphkiel should be remodeled to a Knight in blinding platinum armor.

    I made a campaign where when my party reached level 20 they slew asmodeus, and brought chaos to the nine hells I than had them teleported to the future by primus, who showed them the future.
    The holy plane of Celestia oceans we're dried up and a army of countless demons scaled it's walls and many fallen heros and personal npc friends lay dead and it's many citties lie burnt and destroyed, and primus explained to them that asmodeus is a law of the fiends as long as he stands the forces of the abyss are blocked from the world, and he showed them the burning prime material plane the shell of the nine hells and a devoured elemental planes, and so the party went back in time to kill themselves and prevent the death of asmodeus and by exstension the multiverse.

    12:00-
    "Barachiel, also known as Barchiel or Barkiel, is a true archangel and one of the seven archangels. He is an angel of lightning who is associated with the month of February and the Zodiac sign Pisces. Sometimes he is said to be the ruler of the planet Jupiter.
    He is described as one of the angelic princes, with a myriad of some 496,000 ministering angels attending him. Barachiel is sometimes shown holding a white rose against the chest, or with rose petals scattered on the clothing, particularly the cloak. The scattering of rose petals was to symbolize or represent God's sweet blessings showering down on people. He is described in the Almadel of Solomon as one of the chief angels of the first and fourth chora.
    Barachiel is also the chief of the guardian angels and it is written that Barachiel may be prayed to for all the benefits which the guardian angel is thought to confer if one is not praying to the guardian angel directly, but as an intercession. He is also seen as the angel assigned by God to watch over converts to assist them in their lives.
    His name in Hebrew means Lightning of God and Blessings of God in Arabic."

    Um... non nuclidian geometry is just geometry on a curved surface, and since we live on a globe all our geometry is non nuclidian.

    • @confidencial7964
      @confidencial7964 5 лет назад +1

      this non euclidian bullshit started with lovecraft. he did not undestand geometry and wrote all that bullshit due to his ignorance. now other people who dont understand geometry get missinformed and become dumber just like lovecraft.
      what he meant is a geometry that goes into other dimensions. but not the same 3 dimension we can see.
      just like you can make a T shaped object that will go up and to the sides thus being at least 2 dimensions if its a t in a sheet of paper. the goddly stuff would go into the other dimension we cant see. i believe its 10 or 11 dimension in our universe according to string theory.
      but a object that goes into this extra dimensions, the parts that goes into the other dimensions will be invisible to us as we cant see these extra dimensions. thus the object will appear to be normal. simply having objects with extra dimension wont make us see it. changing us also would not work. as light need to reflect in these objects from other dimension and back into our eyes here in our dimensions. and if light could do it. we would see extra dimensional stuff out of the box. it would not be out of ordinary
      lovecraft was full of bullshit. you got dumber if you read his stuff and dont research into it to clear all his missconceptions
      but i think objects with curves that goes into other dimension would also count as non euclidian
