- Hey there, I am Debasmita and recently I took a trip to Kashmir and Ladakh in the month of July with my friend for 9days from Kolkata and this episode is all about our fourth day where we visited Kargil, Ladakh from Sonamarg, Kashmir via Zoji La Pass.

Kargil city is famous for the Kargil War between India and Pakistan, which was fought between May and July, in the year 1999. The war was fought in the District of Kashmir, along the now-famous Line of Control or LOC, in India.

If you are planning to visit kargil ladakh again visit the kargil's Suru valley known as ((Medicine valley)) approx 60 km ahead from kargil and see the beautiful landscape and natural vallley,stone statue,Waterfalls,Scenario of Nun kun peak,Karchay khar,Pen zila and monestries...etc...❤❤

Oh zojla pass I passed it with bike not I see other side it was dangerous often sometimes distrubs me in dream

I am thinking of going to kargil war memorial from Sonmarg morning 8 am. Is it possible to go in the month of May.
Also on the same day I am planning to go to Srinagar back. Is it feasible and advisable. Is kargil war memorial open on sunday
As far I know its closed on Sundays and other days it opens at 10am in the morning. ...and its quite far from srinagar...so it would be a bit difficult. Again in May,if zojila pass remains open..its fine..depends on the weather conditions. It generally opens before May,but if it doesnt. You have to come from Leh
How much time did it take from Sonmarg to Kargil ?
We started very early at around 6.30am..made few stops and reached within 1.30-2pm. We mostly got clear road. 😀

@@Ts13swiftie313 you can certainly plan as ladakh is a dry state,so there is hardly any chance of landslides and rain. Even if it rains, it just drizzles. July and August are infact the best mnths to visit Ladakh

It was just drizzling. Otherwise its quite hot,but we got a very pleasant weather. July is considered one of the best times to visit Ladakh as the snow melts and you get clear sky,blue lakes,perfect road conditions. You can check my Ladakh playlist for all the videos 😀
