- This was our first time in Sonamarg, and what a place it was! It shows you both the greenery of Kashmir and the dryness of Ladakh. Its the gateway town between Srinagar and Leh.
Day 1 - We took a cab and went for the car tour covering zero point, zojila pass, till the coldest place of India - Drass where we took a visit to the Kargil War Memorial and paid our respects to our brave martyrs.
Day 2- We went for the short trek to Thajiwas Glacier. WHAT A PLACE! You have to watch it to know it!

For trip to zero point, you might be asked to pay as high as 8000 or even 12000 for a car, if you don't know the base rates. A reasonable price would be 3500-4000 for Zero Point and 5500-6000 till Drass. I would highly recommend you go to Drass, as its a totally different sight!

So beautifully captured. Loved the fact that you visited Kargil war memorial and saw a glimpse of Ladakh. Honestly such unplanned things turn out to be so amazing! Sonamarg is definitely on my list now, earlier I was thinking about dropping it after I saw the crowd in the photos from peak season. But thanks to you and all fellow vloggers and travel community, I now know how to work out an easy crowd-free vacation even if the place is not offbeat. By the way, have you visited Doodhpathri and Yusmarg?

Gulmarg jaana chahiye. And even better option would be pahalgam. Yeah its totally safe, i didnt personally see or face any such issues. Just stick to the popular tourist destinations on your 1st trip
In summers Sonmarg wins hands down. Gulmarg is a winter dreamland. And there's no river gushing down in Gulmarg like Sindh is flowing in Sonmarg (visible in video). The road to Sonmarg in summers is very beautiful as you drive with Sindh river on your side, nothing like that in Gulmarg. Just an ordinary mountain road like Lonavla. Sonmarg also has Thajiwas glacier. Without any second thoughts opt for SOANMARG
Jammu and Kashmir is similar to bamboo resort Hulu Langat ,selangor..west Malaysia.. Have river with stone .. And jungle and mountains..
