“I’m not just gonna cut across it because it’s too simple for my channel and i wouldn’t wanna let you guys down like that” wellll thats why you’re the queen of thrift flipping Jen😌💕
Bianca Brooks it's my hair type. If your hair is on the straighter side is probably type 1 or type 2, and if it's curlier is probably type 3 or type 4. The curliest hair is 4c, and the straightest would be 1a.
As someone who works at a sewing machine store --- Try a Brother PS500 or NS80. If you want embroidery as an option as well, go to the PS700. Then bc it's Brother, it's similar to your current machine so you won't really have to learn new things, but it'll a nice step up!! They're not super expensive either. Try to find a dealer that has them on sale! BabyLock Zeal is good if you just want a really basic, easy machine, and if you're looking for something durable, find a low-level Juki.
I recommend the Brother XM2701! It's a sturdy heavy-duty sewing machine with MANY stitches to choose from. Another popular sewing machine is the Singer Heavy-Duty 4423 and considering the fact that it can handle more than 7 layers of denim with a pretty even stitch, I can see why!
Jen! Get a sewing machine with a metal interior-I have mine second hand and they’re sturdy enough to sew jeans. It would totally be a worthwhile investment. They’re heavy af but totally worth it because you can sew heavy duty things with ease. Also-you can pull the ladder stitch tight as you sew so you don’t have to do it all at the end!
I appreciate that you are trying to spread happiness but spamming the comment section will kind of annoy people sometimes so I think that you should try other ways to get people to check out ur channel btw I am trying to make this sound as polite as possible
Also!! Cheap sergers exist! Brother PS3724 and PS5724 and 1034 are all usually around 3-5 hundred dollars. Might sound like a good bit, but that's basically two pairs of Nike shoes, or a new cheap regular sewing machine.
For sewing machine recommendations I recommend a singer heavy duty. I have one and I really like it because it can handle multiple different fabrics so it’s great for thrift flips. You can also buy different needles. Another cool thing is it has a TON of stitch settings wich is really fun to experiment with lol.

I am blown away by these thrift flips😳😳😳. Obsessed by the lettuce hem, I am going to apply it right now. The elastic at the back of the jumpsuit was genius... And the ladder stitch on the pants?! Woooow Sara Nena DIY
Little Tip for the type of stitch you did for altering the jeans: If you pull the thread tight after only 2 or 3 stitches and then continue it is way easier and you dont risk breaking the thread. Also just inserting an elastic into the waistband usually works fine as well if you only need to make it a couple cm smaller, and it looks a little bit cleaner
Your thrift flips are genius! They all look so good, I’m fixing my machine so hopefully I get to do one of these; tbh i didn’t love the idea of the fuffled blouse at first but on you looks so beautiful!🥺❤️ thank you for the vid queen
I don't know the whole story of why you need a new machine but I highly recommend going to a sewing store/studio before you toss your old one!! The one in my town took my old machine (bought it in 2008, hadn't used it in 10+ years) and it's running like new. Good luck! 💕
if you put your pins horizontally with the head outside of the fabric the machine usually jumps it, so you don’t have to remove them while sewing. hope it helps! ❤️
Hi!! I use a singer HEAVY DUTY and it is really amazing, it’s my first real sewing machine and it’s strong enough to go through multiple layers of denim and other heavy fabrics while also being able to be used on light weights! Highly recommend!
This is probably my favourite video on RUclips ! You inspire me so much ,I’ve been thinking of altering my jeans but I was always too scared. You make it seem so easy !
Jen, you mentioned you were on the hunt for a new sewing machine and I have a recommendation. The Heavy Duty Singer 4452 is a wonderful machine and could actually sew through ten layers of denim, it also comes with a slew of decorative and my favorite an automatic buttonhole foot. When I started looking for this sewing machine the prices were all over the place, anywhere between $180 to $480 for the same machine!!! Joanns had the machine for $180 but were sold out her when Covid first hit. I looked on Amazon and EBay and finally found a new machine on EBAY for under $200. The best price I found was on shop goodwill.com., but I want a new one. AFTER I bought my machine a new one in the box came up for sell on goodwill.com... Murphy’s Law... I enjoyed your thrift flips, it was fun to watch. Do you ever watch Angelina on Blueprint DIY here on RUclips? Angelina does thrift flips all the time and she has a great video comparing sewing machines. Judy
The sewing with jeans works better if u already pull it together as you go (smallest area to largest area) so that the thread won't break and so that the process is easier
hellooo!!!!! i love your videos🥰 your thrift flips inspire me to change the clothing that i dont normally wear make me change them and wear them. #hooligan #notificationsquad

@@-diytime- lol we don't want your replies
lol natural hair girls be like messy buns? thats what my hair looks like in a normal bun
My hair is too long that it just falls down. 😂 srsly tho: the bun starts at the top and it ends at the bottom of my head in 5 mins 😶
When she said" Of course my scissors, what else am I going to do it with, my teeth?', I was just imagining her chewing vigorously on her shirt.😂😂
This is how many times Jen talks in British
Gracie Chase0111 and the accent is genuinely appalling 😂
And then she says “mate” as if she’s trying to be Aussie 😂
I’m British and let’s say it is mortifying but at least she tried 😅
I think you will find that it’s called English, not British.
How DARE you make me feel inspired to actually do something useful with my time. So rude 😤
love your reply, lol
feel the same lol

Loved the khaki seam shirt flip!! I think the lettuce hem down the front makes it look super cute and unique 😍👍
Singer sewing machines are really good. I've got mine from my mum and she used it for about 6 years before giving it to me and it still works fine.
thanks for putting so much effort into your videos. i love all of them soooo much!!
