When at a stop light, always have your bike in first gear and eyes in your mirror clocking the car behind you as it approaches. You've gotta be ready to launch out of the way if the car behind you or them isn't stopping.
That's the opposite of what advanced rider courses teach you, you're meant to be out of gear with your foot on the rear brake, so if you are hit from behind the bike at a light the bike won't go very far. Cars usually slow down at lights. I feel like launching across a red light at an intersection is a lot more dangerous than what she's doing.
@@thatwolffe3802 i was also thought to keep it in first and look for a way out here in the Netherlands. That being said I always feel like when there's 5 cars behind you it's not really necessary anymore. The cars will probably take the brunt of the impact at that point.
