Today, we're going to make fabric boxes. They can be made in almost no time and used for so many different things! The ones I show you the measurements for will hold approximately 30 fat quarters, or stacks of charm packs. You could use them to hold fabric scraps or smaller pieces... the sky is the limit! Used in the video: Lining: Two pieces measuring 8" x 12.5" Interfacing measuring 7.75" x 12.25" Two pieces measuring 8" x 12.5" Interfacing measuring 7.75" x 12.25" Fusible Fleece (or cotton batting) measuring 7.75" x 12.25" The interfacing/fusibles I used and showed in the video: Fusible Fleece Pellon 987f Heat N Bond Non-Woven Extra Firm SF (Shape Flex) 101 Cotton Batting
You’re very welcome, Jan! I’m so glad you and so many others have found this video helpful and I hope it inspires you to so a few boxes. Have a fabulous week!
I just wanted to let you know that I have made a ton of fabric baskets from different people's instructions and yours is by far the best and easiest to do. You can adjust the size easier and the video is perfect for helping to make the basket. The others were good, BUT yours is the BEST.
Wow! Well, thank you so much for such a sweet comment. I have watched a lot of videos, read blogs, etc and although there was helpful information here and there, I set out to find my own way of doing it. I am only too happy to pass it along to you and everyone else. Thank you so much for letting me know that you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Your comment made my day! Happy sewing!
Hi Marie, Thanks again for sharing all your ideas! Your precision and easy way to make things is always so much appreciated….I want to let you know how grateful I am for your tutorials 🥰 and yes we all need to be kind!!!!
Good Monday morning Deborah and thank you so much for your sweet comment. You’re very welcome, I love to share my ideas and thoughts with you all. I appreciate that you pick up on all the small things that I try to do to make each project special. I hope you have a fabulous week and that you get some sewing time in. Take care!
You’re very welcome! I’m so glad you liked our visit! I hope you’re able to make it to the live stream What’s Up Wednesday in about 50 minutes. I’d love to have you there!
Hi Carla! I’m so glad you enjoyed my video and the instructions. I love these boxes and think that they’re handy for so many things, and any room of the house. You were right, they will make great gifts and I hope you enjoy making lots of them for your friends and family, I’m sure they’ll love them. I apologize for the delay in replying, but I have been very sick.
Yes Beverly, that’s a great idea. I had thought if it were done in children’s prints they could store there a little Legos or small little figures or little cars in them. Thank you and have a great week!
That is a great idea and you are the second person in the comment section to mention them being used as a bread basket. I think it’s a fabulous idea. Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend happy sewing!
Thank you so much, you’re so sweet to say that! I love working with crumbs, and I’m sure you figured that part out, ha ha! Thank you so much for watching my video and for taking the time to leave me a comment. Have a great weekend and happy sewing! ✂️🧵🪡💕
Hi Marie, I absolutely love your Videos - you are sk bright & bubbles on camera & I REALLY like the way you Sew on Camera as well. It feels like you are not only helping us to learn new skills, you get "stuck in" & you talk "with us" while you're working - not "sitting at your Sew Machine & talking at us - not demonstrating how to make useful Items" Anyway, I just wanted to stop by to tell you how much I look forward to your Videos. Bye for now, Zoe` from Australia 🙂🙃
Awww Zoe, that was such a beautiful comment to read. You melt my heart!! 🥰 Thank you ever so much for your sweet comment! I do feel as though you guys are right with me when I am filming. I just pretend I don't have a camera there and that I am sitting in a room with my friends. That's what it's all about, enjoying what we do and talking about it with friends. Take care and have a fantastic week, my new friend!
Hi and. I’m so glad you like the scrappy boxes. The scrappy ones are always my favorite. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. I hope you have a great week and that you have a lot of fun sewing!
Hi Marie. This has been in my notification list for a while. I have been wanting to make a fabric box. You make this looks so easy. You are a great teacher.
Hi Janice! Oh, these are so very quick and easy to make. I’m always experimenting with different fusibles. I have also made them with cotton batting, (which I then quilt) on the outer fabric and I use SF 101 on the lining to help it stand up on the sides. The variations a person could choose are endless. Have fun, happy sewing! 🥰🧵🪡
You're very welcome, I'm so happy that you found it helpful. I love to hear how people use these videos and I'm very happy that you're making one for your friend. I'm sure she'll be very happy with your gift. Thank you for sharing that with me and you take care!
Thank You!!! I live this video The idea of tacking the bottom to make the lining stay is place is brilliant. I always hand tack the corners.Your lighting , sound and voice are all good. Very pleasant to watch and listen to.
Hi Sue! I’m glad you enjoyed this! Yes, tacking down those corners is a game changer. I started doing it early on, in my tote bag, as well as my open wide zippered bag tutorials, as well as a few others. I use the technique quite frequently, as there’s nothing more aggravating to me than to grab inside a bag and have the liner pull up and out. Very unprofessional. Take care and happy sewing!
Hi Marie, Just a special thank you for showing us hoe to start sewing by bringing up the bobbin thread…. I do this when I’m quilting but never really bothered to with other projects…well, can I say I have been doing it since you showed us and it has made a huge difference…I am very picky with my sewing and have been struggling with messy beginnings but I have been sewing some new projects and WOW I love them…thanks again🥰
Hi Deborah! You are ever so welcome and I thank you for such a thoughtful and kind comment! I have done that "trick" for lack of a better word, with my thread for years now, after becoming frustrated with sewn beginnings that looked less than pleasing. It sounds like we are similar in that way, that we like it to look nice. I'm so glad I could bring it to mind for you so you could begin to use it in all your projects!
Wow is right!!! This is so cool. I’ve never made a basket. I’m going to make the little one for my snippets of thread and the bigger one for my scraps ❤❤ thank you so much 🥰 my sewing project list gets longer with each video of yours that I watch 🤣👍
Good morning Linda! I certainly hope you give them a try. They’re quite easy and fast and they can be used for so many different things. Have a great week!
You’re very welcome, Rose. I’m glad you like the video and that you love the little boxes. Did you see last weeks what’s up Wednesday video? I got some of that chicken fabric like what you have. Let me know if you need the link, if you didn’t see it. Have a great week!
@@MariesScrappyCreations oh! I must have missed that- we've been caring for my 2 year old grandson since my daughter had back surgery. My Grandma used to say God knew what he was doing when He gave children to young people haha. Anyway I will for sure look up that video!!
@@rosewhaley3588 hi Rose! , grandchildren are so enjoyable, but you are right... the young get them for a good reason and that's because we can only keep up for so long and then we're totally exhausted! Lol. Here is a link to Wednesday's video where I talk about your fabric and then show everyone the fabric that I bought. Hope you enjoy the video! ruclips.net/video/87XJtduwUXs/видео.html
Jean truelove has a set of larger nesting baskets, for larger items, you might like them too. I had an idea to add a clear pocket on the side. You can put in a label about contents, or a pattern or project picture, laminate first if a photo or photocopy so it won't stick to the vinyl. You can use them as project bags, to Keep everything to finish a project all together You can put an inside pocket divided or not to hold tools upright in one for notions, needles, bobbins, markers, rotary cutter small ruier, Jack the seam ripper, scissors or snips etc. I made a 12" per side sewing bag with a high top and draw cords. Made a couple of small square ones to fit inside with the notions one, the smallest around, so the pieces go in, with boxes on top, fold up the top of largest bag and draw cord, and pick up handles. Some quilters are talking about scrap management, you could make 5" squares from your scraps and store in the size you just made, if there are cards in fqs you use, those may be good colour dividers? How about 2 1/2" squares. Would about 8 boxes 5" deep by 2 1/2" for those squares fit well inside a 10 1/2" by 5 1/2", stacked 2x high? You could use an old x-ray, or template plastic to keep the base flat? Have you got one for layer cakes yet? All the best.
Hi Kathleen! I started watching Jean Truelove a while back, although I haven't seen all her videos. I just looked up the video after reading your comment and I bookmarked the video to watch when I can - thanks for that! I had a thought similar to yours with labeling the contents, that's fabulous! There are so many ways they can be used. I had talked with a friend last week and told her I was going to make a taller, narrower one with stiffer sides so it could hold scissors, rotary cutter, etc on my table area. I haven't played around with any other sizes at this point, although I did think about one for layer cakes. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Take care!
Love these boxes, going to make several sizes and great gifts!!! Great gifts for a crafter, quilter and stitcher. Going to make a cosmetic box for my Granddaughter in her favorite fabric.
Hello Sue and thank you for your comment, I’m so glad you liked the video of the box pattern. Yes, it’s a great gift for so many different things and a cosmetic box is a fabulous idea. Have a great week and happy sewing!
I so love your video on how to make a fabric "box". A "box" can be used for so many different things. I plan to make a "box" for each of my granddaughters. A "box" for Raycheal to put her crocheting notions in; a "box for Brittnee to put items in for my first great granddaughter; and a "box for Josie to set on her dresser. I LOVE this "BOX". Great video, I hope you have a great day off!
Good morning Betty and thank you so much for your comment, I loved all your different uses of the word “box”. I’m so glad that you’re going to give this pattern a try. I think it’s very fun, as well as very quick and easy. There are just a million possible uses for these. I think I’m going to make some for one of my granddaughters for all her little dolls. She has some that are no longer than my pointer finger. Have a great week and happy sewing!
Awesome! Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy them. My tutorial that's "dropping" this morning is basically the sane as the one, but I changed up the fusibles used, as well as adding appliqué.
I love these boxes. I've been wanting to learn how to make these, specifically for my fabrics, & accessories for sewing. Love it, so perfect. Thank you. I like your nice personality. Wonderful instructions. 💯👍🥰 Oh, I forgot to say I'm subscribing, now too. 🙂💟
I'm so glad you like boxes and that you have subscribed. What you wrote was so sweet, thank you so much! Have a great day and I'll see you next time! Happy sewing!
Aww Chrissy… you definitely made me smile with your sweet comment. Thank you so much for that. I am so glad that you liked the video tutorial of the box. I was just telling another commentor that they look so good in my sewing room, I only wish I had made them sooner. I like the ones with the sewing fabric, but my favorite is the one made from crumbs. I hope you have a fabulous week and lots of fun sewing. See you next time!
You’re welcome, Wendy! I’m so glad you liked it and I hope you sew some, as they’re very quick and easy. Now that I need a few in Solon fabrics and crumbs, they look great in my sewing room. I hope you have a great week and have fun sewing!
Hi Lesley! I’m glad you found my video helpful, and I hope you tried sewing the boxes. I think they were great fun to sew and they were so quick. Thank you for watching and dropping by to comment, I appreciate that!
@@MariesScrappyCreations I've been meaning to make a fabric box for a long time. I watched a few videos to get sizes etc, so after watching your video I made one this afternoon. I'll be making more in different sizes. Best wishes from England
Thank you Marie, I love these! I think I will make a few of these, 1 small one for a thread catcher and try a larger one for patterns! I really need something for them and I think a fabric box would be wonderful for them. Thank you again.
Hello MiChelle! You're very welcome and I'm happy to hear that you like these boxes. They're so versatile and since they're so easy and quick to make, that's a "win" in my book. Yes, definitely play around with the different sizes and have fun sewing while you do! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment, I appreciate that you did that. Take care!
You did a great job with the tutorial for this fabric box- I love them! Thank You for Sharing! I think I’m going to make a short one to scoot my mot used tools at my sewing machine that I can slide under the extension table because there’s no other room on my table for anything!
That’s a great idea Marie and I had thought of using a taller one with more fusible in it, to hold things like my rotary cutter and scissors, etc. Thank you so much for your comment and I hope you have a great week. Happy sewing!
Thank you Lynn and I agree, they’re so much prettier than the plastic ones. Plus, they look much more “at home” in our craft area. Have a great week and happy sewing!
I just love the versatility of this box pattern Marie! Not only in uses but the box size itself. Thank you for an awesome easy to see and understand tutorial video. Meet you back here Wednesday and I promise to be kind.
Hi Jean! Oh, you’re so sweet! I’m glad you like the pattern and the video. I appreciate your feedback. I try to explain everything in simple terms and keep it interesting while teaching. I just figure if I didn’t know how to make something, I try to explain it so that even if someone is pulling their sewing machine out for the very first time, they would have the confidence to try the project. I appreciate your kind words and I hope you have a wonderful week!
Hi Sherry! You’re very welcome. I love the fabric boxes too, because like you say, there’s so many different things you can use them for. Plus, they look really nice in my sewing room. I plan on making some Christmas boxes so that I can put them in different areas of the house. Have a great week!
New subscriber, really enjoyed listening to you. Your directions are thorough and I really appreciate it. I have never made a fabric box and I like that you do not assume everyone knows what to do. Thank you
Hi Rhonda! Thank you for subscribing! I'm so happy that you found me and that you are enjoying my content. I also appreciate that you noticed how I like to teach step by step. I always try to teach by pretending that I am sitting at my sewing machine for the first time and asking myself what I would want to know. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate that! I'll see you for Sunday's tutorial!
You’re very welcome Amanda! Well, you know me, I would choose scraps before yardage, ha ha. I’m glad you like the idea and I hope that you feel up to making some very soon. Hope you’re having a good Monday and that you have a wonderful week, take care!
Lisa Marie was so nice to give you those cute little kitty sewing pins. 😻 I love kitties. The more you talk the more I feel like we think the same in many ways. I'm just beginning to Applique. My first project is Sunbonnet Sue, & Overall Sam. I'm sewing a friend's baby boy, a quilt with them on it. He is due to enter this world in December, I can't wait to see him. 🍼🧸 I'm loving this lesson so much, don't these boxes look so nice.? Thank you again, bye now, from Maine Jenny 🦞🐳🦌🌲🐻🦊🐰🦝🦆🦃
Hi Jenny! Sunflower Sue and Sunbonnet Sam have been a favorite of mine since I was a child. I have yet to make a quilt with them though, although I want to. I'm glad you liked the boxes and hope you have fun sewing some of your own. Thank you for finding my channel and for subscribing. I appreciate that you took time to comment, thank you!
Good morning Janet and I’m so glad that you liked the fabric box idea. I now have three new ones in my sewing room, ha ha. I hope you have a lot of fun with them and that you have a great week. Happy sewing!
Hello Marie feeling less crazy now it was this video I missed lol I saw Tuesdays video . I'm honestly just glad I know what day of the week it is today 😔 . Settling in to watch this one now. Thank you !
Thank you! These boxes were really fun to make and they’re something that I have around the sewing room because they’re so handy for holding so many different things. I hope you give them a try, I bet you’ll like them!
The fabric box tutorial is one of the best! I just love the way you explain and demonstrate how to make things. Thanks for giving us such useful items to sew.
You're very welcome, Carol! I really enjoy showing you guys these things and helping you to come up with creative ways to use your scraps and fabrics. Thank you for your email, I will reply when I'm able, and I appreciate your understanding. Take care and I hope you have a wonderful week.
Hi sweetness I love the new intro...I'm off now to make this sweet little box as a christmas gift to sit on the top of my daughterinlaws dresser it will complete a set 😊Huge love Marie xx
Well good morning, my beautiful friend! I am so glad that you enjoyed this box. When I was making the tutorial, I specifically thought of you, because I knew you would jump right on and make some immediately. I’m going to make some in Christmas fabrics as well, as I think they would make a great decor and there’s so many different things that could be put in them. I hope you have a wonderful week.
I just found you today. I really like your content and how real and down to earth you are. I am newly subscribed and look forward to your future videos. I have so much scrap I don't even know what to do with it all. Now I have some solid ideas having binged watched all your videos. Thank you for all that you do!
Hello and welcome, Kathy! Your comment really made me smile, thank you for that! I have been very sick for 2 weeks, so I need all the encouragement I can get. I did do a livestream yesterday, but there will be no tutorial tomorrow for the 2nd Sunday in a row, which is a bummer. Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying my channel and again, welcome!
Hi there I just found you and I'm so happy that I did. I really like your box ,boxes that you have make you did awesome job on the tutorial thank you so much. I plan on making the box for my sewing room .Have a great week and take care. Happy sewing.
Hi Sheryl! Welcome to my channel, I’m so happy you found me. I’ve been going for about eight months now, I think. I’m so glad you like the video tutorial and I hope you have fun making some for your sewing room. I know mine certainly dressed it up in here. I love them and I’m going to make more for some of my smaller items. Thank you so much for your comment, I appreciate that. Have a wonderful week and happy sewing!
Hi Portia! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tutorial and that you like the boxes. They’re so quick and easy to make and I hope you try them. Have a great week sweet lady and I’ll see you next time. Happy sewing!
Thank you for yet another great tutorial. I made a fabric box already and treated it with modpodge, can't remember why 😄🤭. It still sits next to my sewing machine, holding elastic bands.
Hi Gundi! I would have never thought about using modpodge, I’ve never seen it done that way. I’d love to see a picture of it. Thank you so much for your comment and I hope you have a great week! Happy sewing!
You’re very welcome, Laura! It makes me happy to know that I put out a good tutorial that so many people can use. I appreciate you watching and then taking the time to comment, thank you! Have a wonderful week and happy sewing!
I’m going to make some today, Marie! I’m going to make some with Spurs fabric, UT fabric, Dallas Cowboys, Tx Rangers, etc., for a craft show. Guess where I live? I’ll make some patriotic ones, too. And some for MYSELF! Thx so much!
Wellllll look at that!!! I think I’ll size it up for a bushel box😝. No maybe not that big🤪 Awesome tutorial, I do plan on making some of these. Thank you so much❤️😀
Hey there Rachel, ha ha a bushel box, ha ha it gets exciting though to think of all the different possible sizes you could make, as well as all the possible uses for these boxes. They certainly dressed up my sewing room. Have a great week and I hope you have lots of fun sewing. See you next time!
Perfect timing for these great boxes! I love how you take the time to do the “extra” pressing and other ways to add a look of professionalism to every project you make. Those finishing touches really make a difference in the end product. My iron is always on when I’m sewing because I also like the crispness it adds. Have a great Sunday sewing and thank you for another wonderful fun time with you on Sunday morning! 🎃
Thank you Nancy, I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and thank you so much for your sweet comment. Yes, I do like to use those finishing touches and it probably comes from watching my mom sew. She never used any shortcuts in her finishing touches and I think that that is what adds to a project. I almost cringe when I see some RUclipsrs who will say “oh it doesn’t matter if you iron it doesn’t make any difference”. It can make ALL the difference. Yes, there are times where it’s not necessary, but I have never found it to be a negative thing in any project. I had to laugh when you said that you always have your iron on… that’s why mine beeps in so many videos, because it’s always on. LOL. Have a fabulous week and happy sewing, Nancy!
im in the prosses of re doing my craft space the boxes will come in handy for my sorting and it will use up some of my older fabric...Susan Cross many boxes to come
I am so happy that this is something you’ll be able to use! I love the way they look in my sewing room and I want to make more, too. Thank you for watching and I appreciate that you took the time to comment. Have fun sewing and I hope you have a great week. See you next time!
I have Pelion 808 craft fuse. I think it’s a sew in. I guess, I would quit it in? I’m excited to make this box for the girls. The grandkids loved all the bags.
Craft fuse should work just fine and I don't think you would need to quilt it. You could if you wanted to, but I don't think it's necessary, as long as it's attached
Thank you for an idea for my quilting girls for Christmas 2023,this year doing pin cushions with 3 folded felt bars to hold clips, showed my quilt shop lady, she was so surprised, I designed it myself not sure if there is anything out there like it, will put a photo on Facebook page.
You’re very welcome, Helen. I’m glad you like the idea and that you might use it in the future. Thank you for showing us your pin cushions that whole clips on the Facebook page. When I find mine I will show you how I had made them. Yours are beautiful and I love that fabric!
Glad you like them! They’re a fun little project! I find I can’t make them ahead though, since they’re hard to store. You can’t really squish them down flat very well, so I make them up as needed. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Have a great day!
I see numerous boxes in my future. A possible decoration to your box, use a solid lining and use a variegated thread with a row of one of the decorative stitches ( that most machines have now) on the turned down lining edge. Would be great baby shower gift to use on changing table.
Hello Nana! Yes, that is a fabulous idea, thank you! As you say, so many of the newer machines have all these fancy stitches and that just gives us another excuse to use some of them, along with some pretty thread. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Hi Marie - I am so happy you did a tutorial on this style of fabric box. I was looking at different ones for awhile. These look great scrappy and I want to try to make some as gifts. Yours are beautiful and very nicely made. I hope to see you on Wednesday my friend, have a beautiful start to your week!
Hello Marie and happy Monday! I’m so glad you like the fabric boxes that I made. My favorites are the ones made with the scrap crumb blocks. But, of course I would choose the scrappy ones, right? Thank you for your compliment, as I do strive to make things well. I hope you give these a try soon, they’re very quick and easy and looks so good not only in the craft room, but around the house. Have a wonderful week and happy sewing!
Thank you, Sue Ann. I was going to question which fabric you were talking about, but you must mean the ones in the stack.😃 Thanks for watching and for commenting I appreciate that!
I love making fabric boxes ! These are so cute. Be careful with that rotary cutter!!! Just fyi, if you cut your finger, apply pressure to the sides of the finger as that’s where all the veins are and it will help the bleeding to stop faster.💕
Hello Elena and thank you so much for the advice on cutting myself with the rotary cutter. I still don’t know how I did that, as it should’ve been safely tucked in there. Leave it to me to cut myself with something that’s supposed to be safe, ha ha.
You’re very welcome, Linda! Thank you so much for watching and then taking the time to comment, I really appreciate that! I hope you have a great week and happy sewing!
Hi Theresa! Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it both the video and the box pattern. Thank you also for noticing my new intro. I like to change it up every now and again and I thought that might be fun to welcome people into my sewing room. I always say that I feel like you guys are right here with me, so I thought that might be fun. Have a great week and hope you have some fun sewing!
You're very welcome and I'm happy that you liked this video. If you are a member of the Facebook group, I would love to see a picture of your finished box. Have a great day and take care!
Marie. Another sweet project. I’m working on Christmas gifts for my family. For sure the box’s are next on my “to do” list. I have way to many charm packs so using the 5” tumbler template there’s barely any waste I have so far made 8 table toppers. I learned a couple more tips from this tutorial even I’ve been sewing over 50 years(yikes)❤🎃
Good morning Betty! I know what you mean though, we can find tips and hints that we never would’ve thought of, no matter how much experience we have. My mother has always said we learn something new every day and that is so true. Wow, you have been busy making table runners! Thank you so much for dropping by to comment, I appreciate that. Have a wonderful week and happy sewing!
Today, we're going to make fabric boxes. They can be made in almost no time and used for so many different things! The ones I show you the measurements for will hold approximately 30 fat quarters, or stacks of charm packs. You could use them to hold fabric scraps or smaller pieces... the sky is the limit!
Used in the video:
Lining: Two pieces measuring 8" x 12.5"
Interfacing measuring 7.75" x 12.25"
Two pieces measuring 8" x 12.5" Interfacing measuring 7.75" x 12.25"
Fusible Fleece (or cotton batting) measuring 7.75" x 12.25"
The interfacing/fusibles I used and showed in the video:
Fusible Fleece Pellon 987f
Heat N Bond Non-Woven Extra Firm
SF (Shape Flex) 101
Cotton Batting
Love those (Box)es, great for the grandchildrens little books
Hi Doris! Yes, I hadn’t even thought about books. Thank you and have a fabulous week!
I like these fabric boxes.
I’m so glad you like them and I hope you make some. They’re really fun and quick. Have a great week and happy sewing!
This box pattern will be great for our guild boutique
Hello Judith and thank you for your feedback. I’m so glad that you’ll be able to use this for your guild boutique. Happy sewing!
Cute boxes making them today
Hi Carol! That’s great, I hope you have a lot of fun making them. I know I did! Have a great week and happy sewing!
Can't wait to make a fabric box, Thanks
You’re very welcome! I’m so glad that you liked it. I hope you have a great week and happy sewing!
I love your Fabric Boxes. I can see a lot of those in My Future.Thank you for the Awesome tutorial.
A wrapped gift for family or friends setting inside the box, 2 gifts in one. Great video.
That’s a great idea, Jean! I’m glad you like the video and thank you so much for your feedback. Have a great week and I hope you have fun sewing!
Take care!
Thanks for getting this back to mind. Just have some leftovers from a Baby quilt, perfect to have a box to go with it.
Andra, that sounds like a perfect leftover to make a box from! Have a fabulous week!
So cute! Thank you for the dimensions for the smaller box, that’s the one I want to make today. I enjoyed visiting you in your sewing room today!
You’re very welcome! I’m so glad you liked our visit! I hope you’re able to make it to the live stream What’s Up Wednesday in about 50 minutes. I’d love to have you there!
Great instructions. I love the way my box turned out. Pressing is the key to a neat box. I will be making these for gifts for sure.
Great little boxes. Can be used for the kids craft supplies or small toys.
Yes Beverly, that’s a great idea. I had thought if it were done in children’s prints they could store there a little Legos or small little figures or little cars in them. Thank you and have a great week!
I love this box! My daughter asked me to make a basket to hold bread on her dinner table. I think this will be perfect for that!
That is a great idea and you are the second person in the comment section to mention them being used as a bread basket. I think it’s a fabulous idea. Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it. Have a great weekend happy sewing!
Great idea Marie.
Thank you Beverly, I’m glad you liked it. I hope you have a great week!
Marie you are a wonderful wizard of sewing! Love your crumbs to use! 😍
Thank you so much, you’re so sweet to say that! I love working with crumbs, and I’m sure you figured that part out, ha ha! Thank you so much for watching my video and for taking the time to leave me a comment. Have a great weekend and happy sewing! ✂️🧵🪡💕
Have. Good day and play outside the “Box” 😊great tutorial !😊
Love your scrappy boxes. Today's is nice, but I really like the scrappy boxes best.
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. I’m making one for my sewing friend for her birthday. 🧵🪡
You're very welcome, I'm so happy that you found it helpful. I love to hear how people use these videos and I'm very happy that you're making one for your friend. I'm sure she'll be very happy with your gift. Thank you for sharing that with me and you take care!
Box. What a fun project.
Thank you, it was a fun project. Hope you have a fabulous week!
Lol, your list gets longer. 🤣 I just love all your comments! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
Thank you for this wonderful pattern! So many possible uses!!!
Hello Peggy thank you for your wonderful comment. Yes, these boxes could be used for so many different things. Have a great week!
Very cute Project. Happy Sunday & Best regards. 💜💜💜 AuntieEllen 🤟🏽
You’re very welcome Ellen and thank you so much for watching and dropping by to comment. Have a wonderful week!
Good morning Marie, loved the video, love the boxes, might try to make a few.
Good morning Linda! I certainly hope you give them a try. They’re quite easy and fast and they can be used for so many different things. Have a great week!
Well done boxes. Great for adding to my Christmas gift box. TY ever so much :)
You’re welcome, Debra! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tutorial and I hope you have a great week. Happy sewing!
Hi Marie. I love, love, love these little boxes- especially the scrappy ones! Thanks!!!

I'm watching all of your older videos!
Oh, I forgot to say I'm subscribing, now too. 🙂💟
I'm so glad you like boxes and that you have subscribed. What you wrote was so sweet, thank you so much! Have a great day and I'll see you next time! Happy sewing!
Brilliant! Perfect for the crumbs that we sew!!! 2 thumbs up 👍🏻 👍🏻 and 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you Sew much for another great tutorial!!!
Thank you, Marie that was a good teacher Totoro and I think I could do it with a little help. Thank you again for all you do.
You are so welcome and yes, you CAN do it!
This is a great Box gift for friends . Thanks Marie
You’re welcome, Wendy! I’m so glad you liked it and I hope you sew some, as they’re very quick and easy. Now that I need a few in Solon fabrics and crumbs, they look great in my sewing room. I hope you have a great week and have fun sewing!
Great tip about sewing the 2 inner seams together - thank you 🤗
Happy sewing!
lovely box pattern, so much prettier than plastic ones x
Thanks for a great tutorial!! I love fabric boxes. There is so many uses for each box.
I love this box. I’m going to make a bread basket!
That’s a fabulous idea, a bread basket! I hope you have a fabulous weekend happy sewing!
I love the scrappy boxes! I wouldn't have thought to use crumb blocks but it's perfect! Thanks Marie, wonderful idea. :)
You’re very welcome Amanda! Well, you know me, I would choose scraps before yardage, ha ha. I’m glad you like the idea and I hope that you feel up to making some very soon. Hope you’re having a good Monday and that you have a wonderful week, take care!
Really enjoyed your tutorial. Thank you for the tip on how to keep the lining from coming out.
You are so welcome!
Love your back pack and the fabric boxes
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it 😊
Lisa Marie was so nice to give you those cute little kitty sewing pins.
I'm loving this lesson so much, don't these boxes look so nice.? Thank you again, bye now, from Maine Jenny 🦞🐳🦌🌲🐻🦊🐰🦝🦆🦃
Hi Jenny! Sunflower Sue and Sunbonnet Sam have been a favorite of mine since I was a child. I have yet to make a quilt with them though, although I want to. I'm glad you liked the boxes and hope you have fun sewing some of your own. Thank you for finding my channel and for subscribing. I appreciate that you took time to comment, thank you!
I finally had time to watch the fabric box tutorial! Fabulous 💜

These are beautiful fabric boxes. I’ll save to do when I get home
Enjoy, Sylvia! Have fun sewing them!
This is my next to do project. I have a new sewing room so will have to make several fabric boxes in different sizes. They are gorgeous.
That’s exciting, a new sewing room is always fun. I hope you have a great time sewing these!
These are great. I think I will make a few and fill them with cookies for Christmas gifts.
Great idea! That's another fabulous idea of ways to use these boxes - thank you so much!
Great fabric boxes!! Can't wait to make some!!! Thanks!

Thank you Marie. I made one as example, for my make up, worked fabulous. I will make more. 👍

These fabric boxes are so useful! Very easy to follow tutorial. Thanks Marie. Looking forward to the next one!😀
Thank you Annette! I'm glad you liked it! Happy sewing!
Love the fabric boxes! Thanks for tutorial. Made it sew easy🙃🙂
You’re very welcome, Laura! It makes me happy to know that I put out a good tutorial that so many people can use. I appreciate you watching and then taking the time to comment, thank you! Have a wonderful week and happy sewing!
Cute and useful
Thank you Mona, I’m glad you enjoyed this! Take care!
Hi Marie, another great video thank you. What about made in Christmas fabric lovely chocolate box.
Hello Margaret yes, you’re absolutely right it would make a fabulous Christmas box.
Nice job!
Thank you Sally! I hope you have a great week and happy sewing!
Thanks Marie for sharing this with me and I want to try it out love it so much
I hope you have fun sewing one (or many!)
I’m going to make some today, Marie! I’m going to make some with Spurs fabric, UT fabric, Dallas Cowboys, Tx Rangers, etc., for a craft show. Guess where I live? I’ll make some patriotic ones, too. And some for MYSELF! Thx so much!
Oh my goodness, with those fabrics, they're bound to sell like hotcakes! When is your craft fair? Have fun sewing! 🧵🪡❤️
Wellllll look at that!!! I think I’ll size it up for a bushel box😝. No maybe not that big🤪
Awesome tutorial, I do plan on making some of these.
Love your point press!
Thanks, me too 🥰
im in the prosses of re doing my craft space the boxes will come in handy for my sorting and it will use up some of my older fabric...Susan Cross many boxes to come
I am so happy that this is something you’ll be able to use!
What a nice little box. You could make them in a variety of suzes
Love the boxes, great ideas
So glad you liked this idea, Nancy! Take care and have fun sewing!
Thanks for the video. The boxes are so cute.
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
awesome! I can’t wait to make some of of these boxes!
I hope you have fun! They're so quick and easy and look so nice, whether it's in our sewing rooms, or around the house.
Great lesson! Thanks for the tips too!
Glad it was helpful!
So cute! Really love your channel!
Thank you so much!!
It’s a great to able see what you have and what you need catch a sale
Thanks so much for watching and leaving me a comment! 💕🧵🪡
Love your creativity. one caution you should take
off the sticky tag it messes up your fabric.
Awesome video. Love the tip u shared. TY
You’re very welcome, Linda! Thank you so much for watching and then taking the time to comment, I really appreciate that! I hope you have a great week and happy sewing!
I need to make some of these fabric boxes
They're fun! I hope you enjoy sewing some!
Love your box you did such a great job and loved the new intro
Thank you , I just finish mine 👏🏻👏🏻
I just found you and subscribed thank you for sharing 😊👍🏻🇩🇪

I’m going to try using Soft & Stable!
I bet the soft and stable worked out well. I would love to hear all about it! sorry for the late reply, but I’ve been sick.
