Have to say, I didn't mind the power station content. So many RUclips channels get free power stations but spend so little time explaining what makes it better than other brands or more suitable for an application. Many of them just plug in the power station, a couple of extender batteries and the included flexible solar panels. The solar panels are usually thrown on the ground ready to fly off down the yard in the next stiff breeze. The power station is given gobs of enthusiasm every time it is used but almost no time spent on explaining the features or why those features are suitable for their use case. I like Mad's way of explaining the features and how they will be used and why they are applicable to his situation. Most of the other channels seem to just be honouring the minimum product placement requirements to get the free equipment.
That is amazing work. That is a great shop. I really miss having something like that. For the table top, I used MDF in our craft room topped with ceiling tiles for a soft, cheap top. For a clean top I used melamine board which has a thin Formica bonded to it. That is a great surface too. Super excited for the Cat project and that power supply looks killer. Thanks for the info!
When you get the trailer in place, suggest removing the tires to a different locked location for improved security. Maybe dig a trench in which the axle can rest for a smaller step up and lower deck height. In any case, crib the trailer corners for a more stable and level work platform (no bouncing suspension).
Do yourself a favor. Get some hatches for the roof. Having done a similar thing as this for a dive trailer (we made it to be able to sleep in, as well as store our dive gear, and be able to work on our gear), I can tell you, it gets freaking horrid in there. You could use those spiffy travel trailer hatches that have built in fans even...they can be powered by a solar panel as well! As for "shading", just relocate those panels to outside of the cat's shadow and cable them in. You got this Mads. LOVED watching the sailing, I did...but the refits? EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FWIW, 2 layers of MDF makes for a nice non-splintery worktop. You may want to add a layer on top if your OSB gets you enough times. Eva is right about the trim for splinter protection on the edges as well.

Mads, those two unidentified ports on your power source are labelled 5521 because they have a 5.5mm outside diameter (the diameter of the barrel) and 2.1mm inside diameter (the diameter of the pin. They're common on 12V lighting.
OSB LOL! Loved that. In my trailer I added a small roof AC unit, that runs off the solar.Being in southern Ga, that heat is crazy like you have there in Florida. The AC helps a lot with the humidity.
100% agree, inside the refrigerator it is a cooler, outside the fridge it is a heater. A small vent in the floor behind the fridge and a similar sized one in the wall of the trailer behind the fridge near the top of the fridge would work really well. It would keep the fridge working efficiently and save a lot of electricity. The warm air would vent through the wall vent and be replaced by somewhat cooler air drawn from the shaded area under the trailer.
Love those shop lights. In addition to the sticker I would add a sign(s) that say "under 24hr video surveillance" and an audible motion detector alarm so that even rattling the door gives an instant audible warning that the surveillance is real.
Bandana over head is a must when working with dust IMHO. I mean, sweat can pick up whatever landed on your face and one step on another you end up with something that scratches your cornea. Have had it happen. Had to keep my eye shut for two weeks until it finally healed.

Make sure that the refrigerator has enough room around it for air movement. Each model is a bit different, but you can end up cooking the cooling unit if it doesn't have room to breathe.

You have to get us some before and after on the plug for your extension cord. 30 amp shore power usually ends up with a melted neutral by the end of summer, and they're a lot tougher than your 15 amp extension cord.
In Florida it should be easy to get used solar panels cheap. That may be the best way to go. If the trailer is under the boat you could put a couple of panels on top of the boat and run a cable that connects to a plug on the side of the trailer. You could also just have a couple of panels that you pull out of the trailer that sit out in the sun near the boat.
Great video the progress is impressive . The information on the Ampace will make it easy on which brand to buy when the time comes . Your workshop was an excellent idea one note you might want to add a heavy duty locks & bar security system on the doors to help keep the tools safe . Go team Sail Life a new boat project !
You might consider using "tempered hardboard" for the bench tops. I use it for all of my work benches. It's rugged, and cheaper and less slippery than laminate.
Nothing wrong with using OSB for shop "furniture". Most of my woodworking shop is OSB construction. Plywood is just too expensive. Suggest using 1/4 inch hardboard for counter tops. Use a few screws to hold them down, when they get worn, just replace them. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Love the trailer, I would suggest given your location that you add some form of insulation to the ceiling at minimum to at least make an attempt to cut the heat down. Maybe even yes ad the soloar panels in a further attempt to create some shade.
You can use the solar input on that Ampace to wire in an expansion battery. Any cheap 12V LFP battery and a cheap 12-24 or even 12-48V converter and that's it. It's way cheaper than those proprietary batteries and the MPPT cant tell if the 48v is coming from a solar panel or a DC-DC converter. There's loads of videos here on YT showing how easy and safe it can be done
You ought to coat / soak the OSB with epoxy on the edges and maybe put a round of fiberglass cloth across the top. That should provide a lot of durability. 😀

Love your channel. Quick warning about lithium batteries. Super important to have safe lithium batteries. Never buy NOT-UL (underwriters laboratory) tested equipment. My Neighbor purchased an offbrand though identical looking replacement battery for a Dyson vacuum. The first night it was plugged in, it exploded and sent her to the burn center critical care unit for six months. And years of therapy to recover.

Piece of advice (and do not show or talk about anything you decide to do - in this line of thought, on camera): install two GPS trackers, and another hidden cloud camera that only you know about. Put some thin common garden variety solar panels on top to power all that, it's not outside the realm of norm these days. I'd also install two physical deterrents: 1. a hitch block (or a removable hitch point, which is even better). Make sure to stay away from MasterLock. 2. a means to block the trailer mobile workshop from moving. It can be a latch that hits a moving part on one of the wheels. And for the cherry on top. Chain the wheels on the side that's not visible when parked (from the approach side). Thing about thieves: they are convenience creatures. Once they start seeing stuff that indicates there's protection you have to make their mental seesaw lean in the hole of "yeah, that's not worth bothering with" rather than on the "this is protected, this has something valuable inside". Again, do not show any of this on camera. I'm telling you these things with the experience of various other people and my own.

With "convenience outlets" for air and electricity. If I did it here I would add water filters.. Sundays are back to normal. Florida is pretty brutal though. When boat-y get a bit more solid, you might consider transporting her somewhere cooler and cheaper.
In my shop work room I used construction adhesive to attach a 2x4 bench leg brace to the concrete floor. Fast forward a year or two and I decided to move that brace. A 10# sledge hammer could destroy the 2x4 but NOT the adhesive join.
Not sure about the power station having the extra battery connector on the side. Given the shape of the unit, if it was to fall over it would be sideways, right onto that connector. Having the connector on the back along with the AC outlets seems like a better placement to me. Unless the extra battery doesn't use a cable between the units and just clips onto the side of the power station?
First, trailer electrical safety, GFI your 120V line and always ground the trailer to the ground (ground rod) if keeping it in one spot for an extend period of time. Never trust the 15 amp power cord to shore power to provide the only ground. I'm not a fan of doing a split grounding, grounds at both ends of the power source and distribution, but any cord connected to the outside outdoor and more than 10' long, you want a GFI on it no matter what.
Waiting for a report on Helene. I have been worried, although I know you aren’t on the Gulf side. I kept waiting for you to bring out the Sikaflex and epoxy this episode. Hope that the trailer doesn’t feel like a neglected step-child.
You now all this talk of mobile work shops gave me an idea. Setup a cargo container as support workshop then have it shipped to the port you plan on doing major maintenance/refits at. Then move on. I look what Parley revival has gone through along with Mads, and Ava.

Ring battery cam with that hook-up can use their solar panels to keep charged. They work well.

First, trailer electrical safety, GFI your 120V line and always ground the trailer to the ground (ground rod) if keeping it in one spot for an extend period of time. Never trust the 15 amp power cord to shore power to provide the only ground. I'm not a fan of doing a split grounding, grounds at both ends of the power source and distribution, but any cord connected to the outside outdoor and more than 10' long, you want a GFI on it no matter what.
Will you put a little reflective insulation in the roof to keep the heat out?
Waiting for a report on Helene. I have been worried, although I know you aren’t on the Gulf side. I kept waiting for you to bring out the Sikaflex and epoxy this episode. Hope that the trailer doesn’t feel like a neglected step-child.

You now all this talk of mobile work shops gave me an idea.
Setup a cargo container as support workshop then have it shipped to the port you plan on doing major maintenance/refits at. Then move on. I look what Parley revival has gone through along with Mads, and Ava.

Would it make sense to paint the outside of the trailer white to decrease the interior temperature?
I was thinking the same, but I guess he's going to be putting it "under the boat", kind of in its shade I guess so maybe won't matter as much.
You may want to consider WR 1/4” Masonite for work bench. Inexpensive, hard surface, easy to screw on and replaceable
