Wow, I saw you keep the skin on the kiwi. Googled if it was edible, cause I sure never eat it. But it actually triples the fiber intake compared to just eating the flesh! Learned something new today. :)
I eat the skin too! Just not the butt of the kiwi because it's hard and unpleasant lol. It took a little to get used to. Golden kiwis are awesome and not furry too
I don't wanna be a know it all, but the color and thickness of your mucus is indeed related to sinus infections/other bacterial respiratory infections. You can check it out on a lot of medical websites such as Mayo Clinic. My mom is also a nurse and color of mucus/drainage is often used in diagnosing respiratory issues.
alyssa young Definitely right. To anyone who’s curious runny mucus=allergy, thick and clear=viral infection (so antibiotics won’t help), thick and unclear=bacterial infection. Sorry for the yuckieness 🤢
The colour of your mucus doesnt necessarily mean it's a sinus infection specifically- but yes, yellow mucus does indicate an infection (source: my partner is a medical professional)
Meat-eater gets sick: "Aww, it's just been going around sweetie. Hope you feel better!" Vegan gets sick: "HAHA! TOLD YOU VEGANS WERE UNHEALTHY! GET A BURGER, YOU HIPPIE!"
I feel like you’re getting more and more comfortable in front of the camera and getting funnier and funnier because of it lol. Great video, Caitlin! P.s. I haven’t had a cold since 2015 and I second all your tips.
Definitely yes to more vlogs and what I eat in a days! Those are always my favorite; I love your spirit and vivaciousness. You always make me laugh so hard! Also, those glasses are perfect on you! And the facts were super interesting. Thanks for another great video:)
I've been vegan for 2 years now and mostly focus on whole plant foods and it really does make a difference! I got sick recently (stuffy nose, sore throat, borderline fever) all the icky feelings, but in literally 3 days it was all gone. In the past whenever I got sick it would last for a week at the very least.
I just found this channel, and I'm addicted! I love the simplicity and honesty. You're personality is great, and you've definitely added some recipes to my arsenal. Thank you!!
Incase ur wondering tho, that bel pepper recipe’s originated in Egypt. It’s called Mahshi and that it totally not how u make it or how it’s supposed to look like but yea
my little sister gets these FREAK fevers like one day she has a super high fever and the next day she’s fine lol. one time when she was 5 she said “i don’t feel so good” (that wasn’t supposed to be a infinite war reference, she actually said that :p) so we checked her temp and it was 106!!!! we were like WHAT THEE HECK MAN and we started getting all our stuff together to take her to the ER and about an hour later when we were ready to go she was like “i feel fine” and her fever had dropped to 100 and we were all amazed. when u asked “would they be dead at 103 degrees” that made me think of that story lol. great vid!!
Caitlin, you look so healthy and vibrant in your cover shot! Thank you for all the great recipes! You have been a great help to me on my vegan journey.
I know you work from home so you're mainly home a lot but do you ever get tired easily? I also work from home but I find that from 3-5pm I'm SO exhausted. I can barely keep my eyes open and I'm about to pass out. Do you have any tips how to feel more energized?
A K I cope with stress by sleeping. Ha ha. But that's me. Maybe you're deficient in ferritin (not iron) or your thyroid is off? Sugar makes me sleepy. Maybe something you're eating for lunch?
If you love tahini and you love roasted broccoli then I definitely recommend combining them. I pretty much exclusively eat my roasted broccoli drizzled with tahini nowadays!
I have also escape UNSCATHED from the flu/cold plague among my friends and roommates! Though I ate half a pound of spinach a day, I also ate nothing but fortified cereal so that was kind of weird XD now I'm eating a lot more wholesome foods and making new recipes that contain a lot more veggies and legumes! SO GOOD. Anyways, the camera quality is absolutely incredible in this video! I love the Tex-Mex bowl with the tempeh and kale salad as well as the stuffed peppers! Cannot wait for the recipe!
Indeed, what you eat is really important for protecting yourself from getting sick (colds and flu and the sorts) and for getting better faster. For example, eating vegan foods (and most of the time whole foods plant based), like the foods that I eat usually, I got a cold at work and I got over it in about 3-4 days (my colleagues were sick for more than a week). But it's true that sleeping enough and other factors are important too :)
Love your shirt😍. Besides eating healthier we've been doing Ginger shots, vegan multi vitamins for my Kids and constantly cleaning here has helped us with no sickness. I also use salt for my beverages if bitter
Do you have a link where your mug is from? I LOVE THAT MUG!! :) xoxo Love your recipes and have converted 2 friends to becoming vegan and always tell friends and family to watch your vids for helpful ideas
Thanks for the video. Totally with you on the sale dealio...learned that from Alton Brown, which deepened my love for coffee. That frother is pretty awesome. I snagged one for about $5 at Ikea.
My whole department got the flu, except for me! I eat very well (fruit, veggies, GF grains, beans, plant based protein powder) and I truly believe that that is the reason the flu skipped me. Thanks for your videos!
I love your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge. What kind of protein powder do you use? I’m having a hard time finding one with healthy ingredients.
Some great tips in here! I never thought to have dates with tahini but that will probably be the first thing I try since it's so easy. And you got me on the kite hill stuff. I am not vegan, or even vegetarian but I am trying to perhaps get there (slowly but eventually)! I am, however, lactose intolerant so the kite hill stuff has been a great find. I have been putting it on toast and then apriocot jelly over it. But using it as a dip sounds like something I need to try. I adore broccoli but have never air fried it or even blanched it. So many things I need to try!
Do you use ceylon cinnamon? That's the kind we use because it has the most health benefits than regular cinnamon and I personally love the taste of it way better.
Thank you for this video Caitlin 😊 but...I have a question...are you deliberately eating way fewer carbohydrates or is that just a non deliberate trait of this video? Eg no banana in smoothie, no carbs with lunch, and just quinoa for dinner? It seems quite low calorie too. I may be wrong! I was just wondering. Xx
Everyone always hates on poor iceberg lettuce like it wasn't there for us before we leafy greens were in 😂
Wow, I saw you keep the skin on the kiwi. Googled if it was edible, cause I sure never eat it. But it actually triples the fiber intake compared to just eating the flesh! Learned something new today. :)
Yes! I love the extra fiber, and if you wash the kiwi first (which you should anyways haha), it's not really "fuzzy"
Same thought. I was about so ask about that :D i will try it, it would be awesome to not have to peel it.
One of my friends lived in New Zealand for a year - and apparently there it's normal to keep the skin on :D
I eat the skin too! Just not the butt of the kiwi because it's hard and unpleasant lol. It took a little to get used to. Golden kiwis are awesome and not furry too
Caitlin Shoemaker wow I’ll try tomorrow! I didn’t know that ❤️
THAT'S WHY SALTED DARK CHOCOLATE TASTES SO MUCH LESS BITTER OMG MIND BLOWN
hehe YES!
A

I was thinking the same thing aha I’m a respiratory therapist 😆
Can you film yourself making the food? I dunno why I like that part of videos lol
you like that huh !
The colour of your mucus doesnt necessarily mean it's a sinus infection specifically- but yes, yellow mucus does indicate an infection (source: my partner is a medical professional)
I've just turned vegan and I love it so far
Meat-eater gets sick: "Aww, it's just been going around sweetie. Hope you feel better!"
Vegan gets sick: "HAHA! TOLD YOU VEGANS WERE UNHEALTHY! GET A BURGER, YOU HIPPIE!"

she's also cute

The other day I tried kombucha for the first time, now I understand why you like it so much hahaha. That bowl for lunch looked delicious!!
I've been vegan for 2 years now and mostly focus on whole plant foods and it really does make a difference! I got sick recently (stuffy nose, sore throat, borderline fever) all the icky feelings, but in literally 3 days it was all gone. That tea brew though 😍
it's so mesmerizing!
I just found this channel, and I'm addicted! I love the simplicity and honesty. You're personality is great, and you've definitely added some recipes to my arsenal. Thank you!!
hey caitlin! Love your what I eat in a day videos :) Just wondering what exactly is tempeh? It looks good and I wanna try it!
Christina Marie it’s soybeans pressed together! I guess like tofu but not a smooth consistency
Seeing that you've uploaded a video makes my day 100 times better.
yes yes yes to the stuffed bell pepper recipe on the blog!
Wait wait wait. You didnt skin your kiwi, can I ask why? Because thats completely bizarre to me.
for extra fiber, in new zealand it's natural to eat it with the skin
It's tasty
I eat my kiwis with the skin on :)
I've never eaten the skin 😮
I always eat the skin, just out of pure laziness 😂 🥝
All the kombucha you drink is the reason why you haven’t been sick, probiotics are life ☺️💕
Do you not get hungry between meals? I can’t seem to survive until my next main meal!
Laura Papp maybe try eating a bigger portion :)
Try to incorporate more fats and protein in your meals so they keep you full longer. Helped me a lot! 😊
It depends on the day - but usually I try to eat larger meals so I can be more productive and don't have to snack
Incase ur wondering tho, that bel pepper recipe’s originated in Egypt. It’s called Mahshi and that it totally not how u make it or how it’s supposed to look like but yea
YOUR FOOD AESTHETICS ARE GOALS GIRL
Yay I love when you upload I’m so happy i have no school today so I can watch your videos 😁

Great video! Thanks for teaching us about Chaga.
you're welcome! I think that stuff is so interesting!
It is! I was down with the A-flu for 3 weeks - it was miserable.
Such a fun and informative video! I love your personality!
6:22 is me at everything and I loved you for this moment lol
my little sister gets these FREAK fevers like one day she has a super high fever and the next day she’s fine lol. one time when she was 5 she said “i don’t feel so good” (that wasn’t supposed to be a infinite war reference, she actually said that :p) so we checked her temp and it was 106!!!! we were like WHAT THEE HECK MAN and we started getting all our stuff together to take her to the ER and about an hour later when we were ready to go she was like “i feel fine” and her fever had dropped to 100 and we were all amazed. when u asked “would they be dead at 103 degrees” that made me think of that story lol. great vid!!

Caitlin, you look so healthy and vibrant in your cover shot! Thank you for all the great recipes! You have been a great help to me on my vegan journey.
Your videos are getting funnier and better and I’m loving you so much 😂 Best personality ever tbh
Thank you. Your concern is greatly appreciated. I'm almost there, i can feel it.
I know you work from home so you're mainly home a lot but do you ever get tired easily? I also work from home but I find that from 3-5pm I'm SO exhausted. I can barely keep my eyes open and I'm about to pass out. Do you have any tips how to feel more energized?
A K Lay down & set a timer for 30 minutes.
It's Okay to Eat Mayo I've tried that but I end up feeling even MORE tired. I end up falling sleeping until anywhere from 6-8pm. :(
A K I cope with stress by sleeping. Ha ha. But that's me. Maybe you're deficient in ferritin (not iron) or your thyroid is off? Sugar makes me sleepy. Maybe something you're eating for lunch?
Go outside for awhile....even in winter.
Get a coffee, or some dark chocolate, or a cereal bar. Listen some music you love, or get some fresh air😀 this is what works for me, hope it helps
Wish my what I eat in a days can be so smooth and nicely edited ❤️ so good girl
Is the air fryer worth it? How fries come out compared to oil fried fries? Trying to find a way to get kiddos to eat more veggies.

If you love tahini and you love roasted broccoli then I definitely recommend combining them. I pretty much exclusively eat my roasted broccoli drizzled with tahini nowadays!
Love the glasses. And I like the research you added to this video. Very informative!
The more videos of yours I watch, the more I'm inspired to make some changes!
I like how you tried the foods and talked between the video!!! ❣️ love you
I'd love to see how you make the kale salad! From washing & prepping the leaves etc. :)

This was great thanks! Thanks for the coupon code! Placed my order right away, had been on the fence, you pushed me off. 😂👍🏻
My whole department got the flu, except for me! I eat very well (fruit, veggies, GF grains, beans, plant based protein powder) and I truly believe that that is the reason the flu skipped me. Thanks for your videos!

Hello,
I am interested by your book but I don't find any link to see some page inside it before buy it?
Thank you !
Mélanie
Frozen zuchinni?????? Girl thats a good idea, does it make the smoothie bowl creamy or like a lil chunky (I also dont like it that runny lol)
Sarah K no it makes it creamy, such a good sub for a banana as long as you have some other fruit to sweeten it
What I eat in a day videos are my favorite!!
Hey Caitlin, I need a link for that tumeric ginger tea, please?! Thank you😊
The presentation of your food is amazing
I’m really happy you’re getting sponsors 💕
Currently watching this whilst eating your Deeeelicioouss vegan mac and cheese!
oooh YES a personal fave
I loved this video- you're awesome Caitlin!!
I love your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge. What kind of protein powder do you use? I’m having a hard time finding one with healthy ingredients.
Is the buckwheat you add to your smoothie bowls raw? I have some buckwheat but I'm afraid it will break by teeth!
Some great tips in here! I never thought to have dates with tahini but that will probably be the first thing I try since it's so easy. And you got me on the kite hill stuff. Love the little learning bit!
Where do you get the flat spoons from! Love you
By the way😉
Do you eat the kiwi skin?? In your smoothie bowl it was still on 🥝
Hi Caitlin. Can you recommend a good Vanilla protein powder that doesn't taste chalky and gritty like the pea protein. Also, a good Greens powder.

Xx
