Refreezing the arctic (many methods have been proposed, solar geoengieering over the poles is the cheapest) All the time and money spent on sea walls could be much better spent on OTEC and arctic refreezing.
Jakarta is sinking due to groundwater extraction and rising sea levels. A $80 billion seawall project was proposed but faced delays and criticism. The government is now considering moving the capital to Nusantara, a new city in Borneo.
