    Some people compare gyro with doner. No comper. Doner is rock star

    • @kazikokaziko4903
      @kazikokaziko4903 4 месяца назад

      some people dont understant htro mean turning and sharma mean arabic turning so its all doner was invented and expant all over it at otomon era like bajlava.later on some diffrence happen even in turkey wasnt same kike east do diffrent bursa doner ankara or sivas doner diffrent not the same.so ofc at diffrent country will be diffrent.good greek gyro can be more close to turkish doner then germanic doner.germanic doner was most recent thinj happen after 80-90 become popular and its called doner but fully diffrent then we had here at turkey isnt it.
      so its all doner.just diffrent name. and ofc all diffrence again as said even isnrt same in turkey.same goes lot of dishes pides diffrent zone diffrent syles.
      chicken doner like hatay stle almost same as sharma.
      so dont fixed on names.

    I was in Turkey one year ago. My favorite kebab is cag kebab, adana kebab is also very delicious, but I’m not a huge fan of iskender kebab. Turkish cuisine is one of the best for sure.

    Thanks, Luke for taking us across Türkiye, again. I'm obsessed with this country, haven’t been there yet, go figure 😑😎...I think I know by heart all the Aegean Turkish coast (Gumusluk, Gocek, Sigacik, Alacati, Akyaka, Dalyan, Doganbey) , incredibly picturesque towns and villages. You should go to Mardin, Van, Kars, Trabzon, Rize etc. The thing that impresses me the most about this country is the people...I've never seen nicer, warmer and more hospitable people...they always smile, they are so generous and kind....and they work very hard. 🫶

    Turkey did not invent Kebab, it is Persian food.

    • @atillakaragazi838
      @atillakaragazi838 5 месяцев назад +8

      You clearly do not know what you are talking about. Kebab is not a type of food. It is a kind of meat cooking technique just like roasting. That is why it is wrong to use kebab on its own to refer to a type of food. Hence, you use the word kebab with a complementary word to explain what it is just like roast chicken, roast beef, lamb roast... So, though the word kebab has no meaning as a dish on its own, doner/ tas/ sis/ adana/ urfa/ shami/ jujeh kebab all have a meaning as a dish.
      As for kebab being Persian, no one can make such a claim. It is liked and prepared in a very large geography by many nations. There is no historical record of it. Turks, Arabs, Persians, Afghans, Indians, even Greeks make a claim that they invented kebab. However, none of them can prove this. Please do not come up with the rubbish that "Ohh kebab is etymologically a Persian or Arabic or Urdu word; hence it is Persian/Arabic...". There are many sources that stated "kebab is thought to originate from transhumant people of Central Asia as they had a meat-heavy diet." In that respect, kebab is the name coined by Arabs/Persians/... for a technique used by nomadic people of Central Asia to cook meat on skewers/shish.
      All the claims above are arguable, and there is no way to prove it. However, one thing is certain. The number of kebabs in Turkiye dwindles the number of kebabs in any other country. Almost every city in Turkiye has their own kebab varieties. Cities like Gaziantep, Konya, Urfa, Adana have multiple kebaps. Possibly, Turkiye has more variety of kebabs than in Syria Iraq, Iran, Balkans, and whole Middle East combined together. Just think about this. Turkiye makes about two dozens of kebabs only from eggplants, a vegetable most nations don't even know how to cook. Also, in Turkiye kebabs are unique. So, we don't mix two different varieties of kebabs and call it a new type of kebab like "jujeh kebab + barg kebab = soltani kebab" or "koobideh kebab + jujeh kebab = vaziri kebab" or "barg kebab + koobideh kebab = shamshiri kebab".

      @@davitazizian4719 If this is the only thing you could come up with, against all the things I wrote and all the things implied therein, then there are just few possibilities. Either you are mature but intellectually unfit to defend your claims, or you are just a teenager who still has a lot to learn and see, or you are just a simple troll who has no tricks other than lying.
      You made a rubbish claim. When you were challenged, instead of providing evidence and defending your claim, you used a very cheap technique. Rather than responding reasonably, you chose to attack the personality of the other side, which has nothing to do with the topic we are discussing. This clearly shows that you don't even know how to debate. Why? Because you cannot create and lay out an argument in a rational and consistent manner.
      Now, I am asking you. Where are your counter arguments? Where is the evidence to support your claims? Until you bring forward some counter arguments and evidence, your claim remains as a bogus claim and that makes you a liar. I have no further words for you.
      Khoda hafez.

      Bursa iskender is making it since 1867. the oldest döner photo is from 1855 taken in istanbul prepared by a guy from kastamonu. I dont think they have invented it however iskender has definitely promoted it to what it is today.

      This version is specifically the "iskendar" which relates to the family name which can be traced to the original iskendar kebab. It's not that hard to understand it's only THAT version that is their claim to fame. No insult to other versions was intended in the video.
