Insanesingers123 Thanks for the comment! I totally agree, great car! I wish this one was in better condition :'( I get really picky in next Saturday's video as I talk about 5 things I dislike. More content to come!
I also have an Audi A8 D2 (1995) 4.2. Interieur all black leather with wood application. It’s an awesome car! I’m really proud that I’ve been able to fulfill my dream at 19:)
EYVO Auto I actually have to sell it because I’m moving away and starting my own business. For that I need all the money I can possibly get so it has to go:( but I know the new owner and I have the ability to buy it back when I can :) If you’d like to see it, this is the link to my insta: instagram.com/audia8d2_4.2?igshid=1r849ufvu3kh5
@@kupferbaron6856 I checked it out, nice car! Sad you have to sell, but I think that is a worthy cause. Wishing you all the best of luck on your business ventures! Hope all goes well and that you learn and grow in the process. And that you can potentially get your car or something like it back in the future!
Nice! They're really really good cars. Gas hogs, but really nice to drive, especially if you can find one in good condition that doesn't need a lot of work. You'll really love it if you live somewhere snowy. I've put a ton of work into mine one and still have a ton to go, but it's honestly been a top car to own. Make sure you check out my video on the 5 things I dislike about this car before buying one! ruclips.net/video/UZf8pF_wVNw/видео.html
Just got the 2003 with a 4.2. such a sick car. I had originally bought a 3 series for 800$ off auction. I'm glad it took a crap though because this car is my baby
Sorry to hear about your 3 series, but the A8 really is such a great car. I wish they weren't so hard and expensive to work on, but they're well worth it! Keep her on the road and enjoy!
Yeah, I should do a video on that... It's an ingenious feature that helps keep your car cool on a hot day. In other words it runs a blower motor all day long to maintain the interior temperature of the car at the same as the exterior... Let's just say it's kinda spooky when you don't know it does that, the battery is out, and the fan is randomly running all by itself...
If you ever driven the d3 can you tell me how is the ride quality compared beetwin the two, because i want to buy a d2 and i've only been in d3 and d4,thank you in advance!
I haven't, but I really want to! I'm almost sure the D2 has a worse ride just cause it's on the original 1994 platform. But honestly I don't know much about the other models or body styles...
This machine is freaking gorgeous. I saved a 9/10 Ebony Pearl Metallic A8L from being crushed and turned into beer cans at the Columbus, Ohio PickNPull location for $1,600. I fixed a few very minor issues with it and flipped it for $4,800 three years later after staring at the gorgeous thing sitting in my driveway for three long glorious years. I didn't buy it to drive it, I didn't buy it to sell it, I bought it to save something beautiful from being destroyed. The ONLY reason I sold it is because it had light beige interior and I being a V.A.G. mechanic am much too dirty a person for such. I am going to get another 2001 A8L black on gray tomorrow for $400. Sure it also needs some work and I would prefer it had black interior but really, to get the whole damn car for the price of a 40v AHY engine is a screaming deal. I may fix one or both rattling chain tensioners (passenger doesn't require pulling the whole damn front end and timing belt like driver's side) or I might instead swap a MK3 AHU TDI engine from a Jetta as I have the entire harness, ecu, cluster and keys from Ireland as these machines across the pond were supplied with this everlasting diesel engine. Either way I plan on installing my 01E six speed transmission. The A8L have rear doors a full 44" long, wowzer. These FAT ASSES are indeed remarkable, especially when these massive German aluminum sleds are slammed. Hell yeah.
Wow, so jealous. That’s a beautiful color combination and an A8L in good condition is a dream! Even though I used to commute in my A8 it’s still a treat and an experience every time I get into the car 🙂
It would make a great all-season driver! But an expensive one... I love the 4.2l because it has more power than can be used, but If I were looking for a daily I'd consider an A4 / A6 with the I4 or V6 due to how expensive gas is right now. In terms of reliability, my car has 167k on it and the motor is really clean and in great shape. The car made it to about 150k before needing the head gaskets and other gaskets replaced due to major leaks. The previous owner abused the heck out of this car but once done with all the repairs it runs perfectly :) They're super cool and unique, but they're also just great cars! I've seen several with over 200k miles and honestly I feel like with proper maintenance and willingness to fix what breaks, these cars would run forever. Since completing major repairs on my car, I've driven nearly 10,000miles with no hiccups. If you're seriously considering one of these take Note the timing belt needs replaced every 100,000miles and is a big job. The transmission filter on the automatic is crap and gets crushed every 30-60,000miles and needs replaced or the car surges and doesn't shift properly. The front tie rods were recalled, so not a big deal, but they literally disintegrate at the joints and can be very dangerous if not fixed with the updated version. Parts availability tends to be pretty good, a little more expensive than a domestic car, but the labor required during repairs is intense so repair bills can be a lot more. Good luck! Let us know what you get!
One of the best cars to come out from the 90's. Would love to see more vids of this car! They are very rare to find

just got one A 8 L 2001 NICE TO HEAR THAT WE BORTH GOT SAME FEELINGS ABOUT THIS CAR, I LOVE IT.
Wow! Nice car, congrats! I love my A8 if only it had a manual transmission it would be near perfection!
I'm getting one tomorrow

My 99 A8 has been sitting for 8 years. I won’t get rid of it because I loved driving it
Sounds like it's time to fix it! ;) I'm pretty torn about getting rid of mine, I'd love one in better condition but I absolutely enjoy that car.
When I bought mines, my dad used to jokingly say, that I would need a fuel tanker following me from behind at all times 😂
😂 So true! That’s one of the only things I don’t like:

solar sunroof?

Keep it mint!
Haha, it is mint for sure ;) Should I sell and find a nicer one or a different project?

How reliable do you think these 4.2 V8’s are? I’m going to college soon and I was maybe considering one of these cars for a good all season driver
