I think another reason for the bar existing is that it acts as a visual cue/reference on records for DJs when they're scratching.
Both In Colour and In Waves getting 7's is insane
Particularly In Colour, brilliantly nostalgic, contemporary and forward-looking
In Colours is definitely a 9 and giving it any lower is frankly insane. I do agree that In Waves is a 7 though.

His tracks always sound like nostalgic love letters to Chicago House, UK Garage, Jungle, Dubstep etc. while at the same time sounding hyper futuristic. Never gets stale either. Banger of a record.
Edit: only part I didn’t enjoy was that poetic twist on Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot. What was all that about?

While it isnt my favourite, i personally love the opener "Wanna" which wasnt talked about in the video. It feels like a love letter to uk garage with its sample of the classic never gonna let you go, and also a small snippet of rip groove.
i wish jamie xx did more with wanna - one of my favourites but want it to be a bit longer

This album is absolutely incredible, and well worth the wait. I can only imagine what the next xx album is going to be like, now that the members have evolved and experienced so much on their solo journeys.

I really enjoyed the album, but the one thing I hated was the rollout. I feel like too many singles were released beforehand, which left little room for surprises when listening to the full album. I understand it was a commercial strategy to keep listeners engaged, but the equation between the number of singles released and the album’s release date was very poorly balanced.
As soon as I saw this I thought “Inthany Wavestano here”
You could imagine my surprise when he actually said that!
not a good album. Really confused mix of vibes, rather than blend of several genres. The dance tracks are more basic than fun. the last few tracks are thankfully a bit more experimental which is nice. But altogether not amazing.

saw Jamie 4x this summer in LA for ther Floor shows + Hard Summer. man. what an artist. the warehouse show experiences were the sweatiest and grimiest shows I've ever been to.transcending nights.
Bit underwhelming for me. In Waves wasn't worth the wait. Should've called it In Uniform. Would've been more fitting.. In Colour still rules tho

I disagree on Waited All Night, this the song that introduced me to the album and is still the highlight for me. Gives off melancholic vibes and is generally a really nice melodic song. Perfect to listen to at work.
Though I can see your point that the vocals come off shy.
I had so much fun with this record and I don't feel that very often anymore. It was a touch to my soul, and probably it will be for people that love clubbing for some many years too.

Album is good but it's underwhelming compared to In Colour, which is like, the best electronic dance music album of the past decade.
Disagree with that Daffodil take. Captivating vocals over some ripe percussion and beats- I loved it. I thought all the different artists’ contributions worked harmoniously together

Melon, I'm Brazilian and about 2 weeks ago, arguably the greatest trap album in the country dropped by an artist called Matuê and is getting tons of attention and praise. It's called 333 and I would love to hear a review on it, preferrably after listening to his less acclaimed first album, Máquina do Tempo. Love ur work!
