07:43 - “the next change has got 4 pinches in a row”... It’s actually 3 pinches in total, but on the second pinch you slide from the 9th fret, quickly visit the 10th (e) + 11th (g), and then slide back up to the 2nd (e) + 3rd (g) frets for the final pinch.
Just wanted to say a big thank you for this. I played the guitar for many years when I was younger and then got married and had children and essentially sold all my gear and gave it up. Just recently I bought a lovely new Ibanez RG421 and a small Fender amp so I could start playing again and I found this video at random when searching for songs I love to listen to. The tutorial style and format works well I reckon; the explanation on how you're playing is simply, intuitive and gives the beginner a little confidence which is awesome! Thanks for taking the time to pull this together. One small thing that I've done differently is in the build up to the chorus - "I still believe, it's you and me 'til the end of time" - I play that using frets 2, then 7 and then 3/4 together using the same finger picking technique. Give it a shout and let me know what you think. Thanks!
I just wanted to say, you are the best guitar tutorial channel. No matter what song I type in, your videos pop up and they are so easy to follow and it sounds really good. Thanks :)
thank you so much for this tutorial. this is actually the first song that i learn on guitar and your tutorial is really comprehensive and easy to understand and above all not demotivational ;)
Thanks my boi. I'm a beginner and rather than learning the basics I'm just learning songs. Couldn't name a string but I can now play many of horror. Thanks mate
What about the part after the second chorus when he sings "Cause you said love was letting us go against what our future is for many of horror"? How do you play that bit?
Hello Drue, i'm a student of you in a sense, because i started playing with the help of your tutorials. Can you please post a tutorial on " black birds"...? Its got great picking patterns.
Drue I loved the song. so I got the verse and the bridge going , everything was good until I reached the power chords. I just couldnt widen my fingers enough. It's physically impossible for me right now. So i was hoping you name for me some easier chords to help me manage I really loved it, I'm counting on you Drue. Thank you so much!
Hi Hasan, it maybe physically impossible for you right now, but it won't be in the future. Incorporate some finger warm ups and stretches into your practice routine and you'll start to develop the muscles needed to play power chords. Take little steps every day and have patience.
Thank you SO much for sharing this Drue - its the best coverage I've seen of a song I am very fond of. And I agree - no need to down tune unless you are a BC geek! :)
Hello, Drue! After saw your video i created courage and made my own version of Many Of Horror! Biffy Clyro - Many Of Horror (Acoustic Version) Thank you for the help!
+Drue James oh wow you actually replied to me !!! Thanks for that :) love you vids they are the best ones on youtube as you take your time with it. What would you say about doing a video on how to play "the answer" by kodaline some time in the future? Thanks again

This song can be played in either standard E Tuning or in Drop D tuning. I have learned it in Drop D from Simon himself :)

Superb lesson, very well explained. Are you muting the 6th string on the D & B power chords?
Pat19eighty4 I thought this because it didn't sound right when I played it

Really helpful to me since the official tab isn't best suited to a 3/4 😅 seems easier than the official tab too!
