Thanks for showcasing my instrument! I appreciate your feedback! It was a pleasure to hear some real music being made from it!
In case anyone is interested, I just posted a self-critique video of the instrument on my channel. I noted a few other lessons learned and things I would do differently. Thanks again! I look forward to seeing upcoming videos!

His number five has the benefit of your videos, which you did not have. :) I'm trying to work up the courage to send you my number 3! Shout out to Steven, this was VERY inspiring to me. I know I'm making all kinds of mistakes, and this tells me I can make mistakes and IT STILL COUNTS. Beautiful, warts and all!

Thanks! I definitely had the benefit of Del's videos! They got me started so I could explore with confidence. That allowed me to learn from my mistakes with humility. From my perspective, it's the process that is the most fun!

If you're not making mistakes, you're probably not getting anything done. Don't be afraid to go for it - mistakes are an opportunity to learn new things, and add character!

I've been wanting to build one with an old school metal lunch box. I guess I'll have to find one now and do it. Loving these critique videos and seeing what other builders are doing.

Great idea to build the box upside down, also to preserve the often beautiful covers. I built three wooden boxes yet, and always leave a gap between the neck and the top let let it vibrate and sound hopefully better acoustically. To withstand the pressure of the saddle, I glue like a brace or put a dowel underneath, between the top and the back of the box. But I can't tell if that makes a big difference...
