Thanks! I just made this today. I added a touch of citric acid to help increase tartness, and also decreased the sugar a little. I think it turned out really well!
@@CheaperWaysNZ it turned out amazing! I even canned it to save for the future tysm it's going in my personal recipe book. I'm also sharing your video with my canning group
I hope (a year later) that you did. If you haven't, you will NOT be disappointed! It looks like she used the pink variety here instead of green. They both taste the same, but the pink results in such a beautiful color. Rhubarb also makes an amazing pie, and either the jam or pie can be mixed 50/50 with strawberry.
Hello! That's delicious to spread for sliced bread. I have tasted this already in the Philippines (Baguio City) thanks for sharing this recipe, now I can cook it. God bless you and your family.
I adore rhubarb, I got a bunch yesterday and I was looking for a jam recipe, I found yours😊Also I loved the family tasting time at the end of the video
A) what an adorable family B) I’m watching this in Bellefonte, Delaware, USA. I have the closed captioning running. American closed captioning cannot interpret NZ accents. It’s pretty funny what CC comes up with!
Thanks! haha - I've actually been told the same thing by my brother when watching one of my videos without eh sound on - apparently I come out with some brilliantly weird sentences! I considered just making subtitles myself but it took way too long to delete all the silly comments and put in what I actually said ... so decided to just leave it and make life interesting 😂👍
Hey - I haven't tried it myself but I have heard they are interchangeable, so you just use about the same about you would lemon juice 👍 let me know how you get on!
I made made mine before i saw this video and it was greenish -- was it because rhubarb was mostly green than red? __ anyway it turned out a similar consistency like this recipe (not watery in the beginning and later pastey, like other recipes ) -- it was a tasty sour sweet I like.
I once upon a time had a huge rhubarb plant, but I pulled it out and put a plum tree in its place. Rhubarb is too invasive. I have little rhubarb plants popping up here and there unfortunately. I do have a very large pot though that I might plant some in.
I read your rhubarb jam recipe yesterday and made it last night. I've just tasted it on toast the next day. Great recipe. Its delicious. !!!!
Oh awesome good to hear - it didn't last long at our place I'll have to make more next time!

I have never made jam before but this has made me want to run out and buy some rhubarb to made it looks delicious 💕
It's certainly been popular at my place - I may have to look at growing some now just for this purpose!

1st time making jam in a long time... not that i really have experience haha. Really hope it works and i jar it properly!

Yeah I'd assume it would be because of the colour of the rhubarb ... I like jams a bit sour/sweet too - my favourity is with nice tangy plums 🙂
I’ve never called it jarring before but I’m not in New Zealand. Often wondered why not I never ask for a can of jam. It’s always called a jam jar....
I know ... it's little thing like that that annoy me as well ... like how rugby is referred to as football. It's clearly hand egg.
Cheaper Ways NZ it’s okay I only know hockey and curling so we good. 🇨🇦

Yeah we're gonna have to plant some of our own - always been given it but this jam didn't last long enough so could be worth it for us - lol

Yeah they're pretty big on tangy flavours so they love it!
