Interesting fact about Orson Welles VA of Unicron it was his final acting appearance in cinema before he sadly passed away not after the movies release. His voice was so weak during voice recording that audio production had to amplify his voice through audio synthesizer for final movie product
@@lexsteel12 Except in Transformers Prime, Unicron IS Earth, with the planet’s crust and biosphere formed around the giant robot in deep sleep, big enough to generate his own gravity to form a planet. I personally prefer IDW’s Unicron because he’s WAY bigger than Earth, being able to hold our planet in the palm of his hand rather than being Earth-sized like in Prime, and I like Unicron being his own planet-devouring entity rather than Earth itself.
The animation and dark nature reminds me of the movie Heavy Metal, minus all the nudity that is. Even if I wasn't a transformers fan I'd still love that movie

I still remember being horrified seeing Nemesis for the first time on Armada. That planet's soil being made of salt, and the trees actually being gross metal versions. Then you see a being of pitch black with red eyes resembling Optimus letting out this roar. With a pure intent of destruction towards all life and with it's ferocity kept. Acting more akin to a beast than bot. Actually creeped me out a little. Like being in some twisted version of what Unicron considered acceptable life.

The movie wasn't a huge hit. It got major backlash for killing off Optimus prime. The two other mistakes they made was bringing back Optimus as a ghost then making him disappear again. Then brought Optimus back to life towards the end of the fourth season. They only did that to try to bring us back to the cartoon and have the network give them a 5th season. Didn't work because it was too little too late. You make fans mad we will tell you to go to hell. We did then now and forever.

I find Unicron scary yet fascinating and I will never forget Metroplex's sacrifice in the game Fall of Cybertron after completely pummeling Megatron to death.
Great video. But i am gonna be that one nerdy guy. You left out the fact while Orson Wells is the voice of Unicron it was also recorded during the final months of his life. His once powerful voice wasn't what it once was and he was unhappy with the way he sounded. So he and the sound engineer and director worked together to give us the voice we know today as UNICRON. This would also be his last big screen performance because he would pass away two months after it's August release on October 10th 1985.
The problem with Unicron being a singular being is that he is supposed to be the core of Earth. If that's the case that means he been trapped in Earth for a very long time before humans
There was a singularity thing that was changed in the end on the comic line. However, i could imagine the og unicron could transcend from the head and possess and/or communicate his alternate variants. Overall, im opened towards a multiverse arc to be shown on screen if done right.
I would have liked it if his origin was less of a god and more some artifact left over from a Type III civilization that wiped itself out. They would have made war on levels a human mind cannot even fathom. And Unicron and Primus were but two titans among a staggering number. After millions if not billions of years one lost his mind and thought himself a god and the other clung to sanity and decided to create.
"Getting better"? He went from being an epic BBE to be a big pile of every BBE vomited into one name... The movie he was premiered in and the cartoon meddling of his almost-alive head in the cartoon series was where they should have stopped adding canon to him aside of backstory that brought him to where he was at there and there being the apex of his being. He started becoming BBE vomit after that point. I mean, he would have never attacked Cybertron out of fear of the Matrix of Leadership that the Autobots had in the movie if he was ever that powerful at all. He would have avoided Cybertron because that thing would have just inconvenienced him for a bit by blowing up his most expensive avatar if he faced it and instead just sent one minion after another until all the Autobots were obliterated, not even caring if any minion who captured it and tried to betray him with it, already knowing that his minions couldn't use it. Even for the Transformers fictional universe, Unicron slipped very far into the absurd.
Just imagine if Unicron's head was fused to Cybertron who was actually Primus. When *they* transformed, they would be a single bot with 2 heads!
