I grew up listening to Mr Harvey. All my elders listened to him. When I graduated high school, I found myself looking for him on radio. His words of wisdom. Great stories. Lessons
One of my earliest memories was my mom and I sitting at the kitchen table, listening to Paul Harvey. I was a big fan from the time I was about 4 years old (1960's) ,and I still am today.
I just now found this site. At this moment I'm in my late mother's kitchen and my phone is sitting where the radio once sat and I'm listening to Paul Harvey. Wow.🙂
Going to work with my Dad hearing Paul Harvey on the way , at noon then on the way home …. “ you know what the news is, in a minute you’re going to hear …… the rest of the story .” Good memories and great story about Bocephus and his Daddy
I grew up with Paul Harvey. Here it is December 2024 and I accidentally came across someone who saved the recordings of Paul Harvey. I have not heard his voice for decades, I'm now 69 years of age. Thank you Sir, for putting "The Rest of the Story" back on in the Media. I have a couple of Paul Harvey books and many years ago taped and hour or two of The Rest of the Story on cassette tape. They've been stored away for decades. Thank you again Sir. I listen and subscribe to your channel and listen daily several times a day.
I'm very glad hearing this brought back some good memories. Like you, I have been a fan of Mr. Harvey for decades. I'm glad to know that other people appreciate him as much as I do. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas. :)
I remember 70’s road trips with my family, no matter where we were along the highway, dad would tune in a radio station and sure enough, we’d hear Paul Harvey. I miss those days so badly.
I listened to Paul through my whole childhood with my mom. Even as a kid I loved to listen to Paul Harvey. Will never forget him. Wish he was broadcasting today. It would help keep people grounded. Miss you Paul!
I'm 64 years old.I grew up with Paul Harvey.I don't think it could be argued. That his Eloquence, intelligence. Transparency. Compassion. And understanding. We'll be lost on future generations. He comes from a different generation of values. And Beliefs. Our country will Never see people of his generation ever produced again in this Country. We lost a Crown jewel. In the fabric of our society. Honesty.
For ANY Boomer this is what you listened to when you went into work on the radio if you drove in during the 70's, 80's, and 90's. For a lot of people the routine was this. Listen to Paul in the morning for work. Watch Johnny Carson for the Tonight Show at night. American Top 40 with Kasey Casem on the weekends especially if you drove back from your parents or the In Laws. Then 60 Minutes on Sunday after football before you were getting ready for work on Monday.
HAD to catch the top 40 with Casey Kasem no matter what!! Even if you know the song you liked was still sitting at #5 for 3 weeks in a row!! Man getting older makes us all appreciate what we had in the past more and more!! Great times better world back then
They say you learn something new every day. Maybe that's true, but but today with this video I learned something not just new but absolutely fascinating. Thank you.
He's the voice of the greatest generation, no argument about that , for those that are interested Mike Row has a similar pod cast i would argue its very close to Paul Harvey
this is the first time I've listened to Paul Harvey since dad passed away back in 2015, we listened on the porch to my unveil i never thought it would be the last time i see dad, this will always be on my mind, thanks Paul Harvey rip my friend
I thought it was awesome when Hank and Jr was on the video. Thank you and your team for yet another wonderful, happy, video. I don't know if I got chills watching the video, but it did bring a tear to my eye because Jr got to sing with his father.
It reminds me of things I did with my father. We built things together. We put shingles on roofs for people. I hate fishing, Dad wouldn't go hunting. I was bad at sports. So we built thing with our hands. Brad Your son is still young, and now adays you can't do what my dad and I did. I was 12 when I first set foot on a roof. But I was proud my dad wanted my help. It still gets to me, even after all these years. I hope and pray that you too can work together when he gets older. He will remember you wanted his help. I am sure Jr. loved singing with his father, even though his father wasn't there. Thanks again for this lovely memory running though my head and heart.
Brad, my grandmother used to live in Boerne, TX. It's pronounced, BUR-nee. Like the name Bernie. Nice town. Good people. Thanks for posting this Paul Harvey 'The Rest of the Story' & adding such great additional material. Stellar work. ❤
Thank you very much for clarifying that for me. I've been through there many times but just didn't know how to properly pronounce it. Thank you for the kind words also. :)
I still have my Hank Williams albums that my dad gave me. Hank Williams died while traveling through Fayette County, West Virginia, on his way to Ohio. ❤ from West Virginia
Hank Williams was my favorite singing when I was a kid, I talked my mother into giving me her Hank Williams album. I think Hank Jr. is also an excellent singer.
What a great video! I loved Paul Harvey and it was great to hear him again. The rest of the rest of the story was very interesting and informative. Great job! 👍👍
I love this story. Always used to listen to Paul Harvey and Hank Williams. And There's a Tear in My Beer is in my memories. Such a great opportunity for Hank Jr. to sing a duet with his dad. All those songs you mentioned are there too. Thank you for the memories!
Thank you for this video. What memories came flooding back. I have subscribed and look forward to hearing more from the great Mr. Paul Harvey and your channel. Blessings.🤗
Great story. There is a way now, to read very old scrolls, without unraveling them; I bet there would be a way to listen to those old records that "didn't" make it through the same science.
"...cock your pistol"😂😂😂😂😂😂Darn near choked on my beer when I heard that expression!!! Very sweet story, and it IS a miracle that record didn't warp, or melt into oblivion. Just shows we can never predict the gifts life has in store for us.
When I was young I lived in pendelton,Oregon and my bus driver mr. Beers listened to Paul Harvey every day and also stopped the bus to kill rattlesnakes with rocks. Brings back great memories.
That's wonderful that your bus driver listened to it. I've never heard of killing rattlesnakes with rocks. That's terrifying. I'm glad hearing this brought back fond memories. :)
I was lucky enough to had grandparents to introduce me to the stories of Paul Harvey. Mike Rowe has a podcast that is reminiscent of this. It’s called “The way I heard it.”
I made Paul Harvey news in I think 1984 or 1985 i was ran over by a moose while going to the bath room in the woods yes my pants were down I cat find that storie can anybody help me find it thanks.

I am 56 years old, I listened to Paul Harvey in the mornings at noon, and after I got off work in the late afternoons for the rest of the story show. My great grandmother always had had him on the Radio at her house too. This brings back some great memories when life was simple. Thanks for posting these videos.
Was in Germany when this came out. Dude said you can tell that's fake. I said he is singing with his dad. He shut up and listened to listened the song.

What a great man used to listen to him when I was a kid in the 80's
Oh yeah. Me too exactly. It was so much fun being an 80s kid. :)
If you haven’t yet go back and find some other instances of Paul Harvey speaking. He had a real gift.
He certainly did. :)
reminds me of being a kid in 80s riding with my grandfather.
I’m glad it brings back fond memories of your grandfather. :)

Oh yeah. "Cock your pistol" has been added to my list of sayings, much to my wife' chagrin. hahaha. :)
The expression has been around for literally hundreds of years. I'm amazed that you'd never heard it before.
Somehow this one slipped by me. I've added it to my repertoire, much to the dismay of my wife. hahaha. :)

Hahaha. :)
I remember listening to the story years ago it hit me so hard that I remember where I was when I listened to it was a Burger King parking lot.
That’s very awesome that you remember exactly where you were. I don’t think I could remember that with any of them specifically. :)
I was lucky enough to had grandparents to introduce me to the stories of Paul Harvey. Mike Rowe has a podcast that is reminiscent of this. It’s called “The way I heard it.”

I'm not sure on that one. :)
I'm familiar with the song. But I never knew the significance of it, until now.

I do not use AI in any form. I agree that they're better on radio. No stations in my area play them.
