  • Our video is a guided walk in the Lake District, Cumbria. We start from Keswick up to Walla Crag and return by Cat Gill and Derwent Water. The descent from Walla Crag down Cat Gill is very steep. The views of the Derwent Water and the surrounding fells are beautiful.

This looks very much like the kind of walk that I was hoping to do during my recent short (and first) stay in Keswick. I will bookmark this video and maybe even record the commentary (which was excellent by the way) so I'll have no excuses for missing out next time. Thanks very much for your time and effort in making this video. I do appreciate it.

Hi David thank you for your comment, this is a great little walk to get you started in the Lake District. We were very lucky with the Kestrel, this was the first time we had walked up to Walla Crag. Another good walk from Keswick is Latrigg and also Catbells from the other side of Derwent Water. Another one is Castle Crag from Rosthwaite in Borrowdale it is only a small hill but steep and at the top you have a giant's view. All these walks are all on video plus a lot more and we still have four more to edit. Have a great time when you go back all the best The Taxi Driver.

Hi thetaxidriverj , unfortunately I didn’t manage this time due to Ciara storm ( during last weekend).
I did, however make it to the Long mynd in Shropshire hills on Wednesday. Was a great walk .
Thank you very much 🙏 for all your videos which are really inspiring many of us.

Thanks for sharing this video, love the directional commentary . Just done this route in reverse. Not lucky enough to see a kestrel though.

Bassenthwaite Lake is what you could see to the north. The only lake in the Lake District that’s call “ lake”
