always my fave 😍😍😍 here in our province we wash the fish with what we call TABON-TABON. then in the vinegar mixture you can also add SLICED HILAW NA MANGGA, some CUCUMBER and also DAYAP💗🥰
Wow... this is the first time I came across your video and that's because you prepared one of my favorite. It says you're a Chef. Hopefully I'll find out where you're restaurant is at and try it when I come back for a quick vacation. Love the presentation!
A little bit of Monica in my life A little bit of Erica by my side A little bit of Rita is all I need A little bit of Tina is what I see A little bit of Sandra in the sun A little bit of Mary all night long A little bit of Jessica, here I am A little bit of you makes me your man just for laughs haha
Mm really delish!!! Love the way you assemble that dish, but the garnish makes it perfectly simple... I am salavating right now! 😁 😁 😁 😁 Keep it up and God bless.
Hi Chef! Grabe naman itong recipe na ito. Naglalaway ako sa sarap! I can imagine the sour, salty, sweet taste of your kinilaw. Now saan ako makakahanap ng fresh spanish mackerel? Thanks for sharing Chef JP!
Hi Chef JP, nice video. Thanks for featuring one of my favorite dishes. FYI, in the Visayas region, Kinilaw is prepared with coconut milk in addition to vinegar. My mom makes a really tasty version and I filmed it for posterity, as I’m not much of a cook 😂. There’s also a nice book all about Kinilaw by Doreen Fernandez and Edilberto Alegre.
Very nice technique, kasi pag nababad ng husto yung fish meat sa suka nakaka overwhelm yung vinegar taste, mas okay ganyan para yung flavor nung fish nandon parin.
Can any fish or seafood be in a kinilaw? Is it weird if I substitute honey instead of sugar? I've had it. No sugar just vinegar and heaps of chilli. The fish was Tambakol.
peri mas lami ang kinilaw nga naay tabon tabon unya ang suka nga gamiton kanang tuba nga walay tungog pure puti lang...unya kinilaw nga naay ahos hehee unsa naba kaha lami ani mura nman og adobo
I never tasted a kinilaw with garlic, sugar, or pepper. Never in my life. Even hotels in Mindanao don't use that for Kinilaw. Not even sugar. Use tuba fresh from Coconuts with or without tungog. If Fish is fresh, use veniger, onion, ginger and Sili. This is insanely not the Kinilaw you can taste in Mindanao Philippines. I will still have to find out if other islands have garlic, pepper, or sugar to adjust taste.
Kinilaw: my all time favorite. Yummy. I say kinilaw is better than sushi. Edit: I'm making a comparison of food that uses raw fish and I always find sushi bland and overrated and kinilaw as the bomb.
I love sushi and kinilaw. If you find sushi bland mist japanese doesn't like salty foods unlike mga Pinoy kaya nag kakasakit. 😆 Sa kinilaw it depends sa timpla. Regional as they say.
@@bluemarshall6180 I agree about regional preferences. I'm from Bacolod so I love Chef's recipe. I was introduced to kinilaw using coconut milk when I lived in Cebu. As for sushi, I can eat a few but it never gave me the craving like I would have with kinilaw. Sushi is lackluster sa flavor compared to kinilaw. That's why I call it overated.
Sarap ng isdang kilawin lalo n pagsariwa ang isda. Ang ganda ng background.

Tabon2 is the bomb….sadly not readily available in Luzon. Kinilaw in CDO is my favorite because of this secret ingredient .
Chef if calamansi is not available which i doubt hehe. Can i replace it with grated or finely chop mango the native one. ?
more uploads chef ng pinoy food recipes!! what a relaxing vid🤗 sarap ng kinilaw😋

Hi, Chef! Have you tried using "Tabon-tabon" in making Kinilaw? Tabon-tabon (Hydrophytune orbiculatum) is commonly used here in Mindanao.
Thank you chef Im a new cook here in jeddah saudi arabia Thank you for sharing knowledge ❤️

I've had it. No sugar just vinegar and heaps of chilli. The fish was Tambakol.
Any fish would do. Big or small fish. You can even use squid if you want.
Again and again, you made my day Chef JP! My favorite dish is kinilaw! Thank you for all your videos! Keep them coming please! Cheers!

I want a little bit of that Kinilaw.
Gonna have to ask your Pop tomorrow morning how he liked the kinilaw.
Nakakatakam po
Add grilled liempo and you’ll have SINUGLAW! Yum 🙂🙂🙂
diin imo tabon2x meg???
HERE IN MINDANAO A KINILAW IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THE TABON TABON. GROWING UP WHERE KINILAW IS AN EVERY DISH MAKES YOUR PALETTE GET USED TO IT.
Tabon2x, Suwa, Tuba, Malasugue.. + liempo sugba.. Sinuglaw!
Love your apron chef JP
kinilaw is definitely the right word, kilawin is a recipe referring to beef or goat meat. Just pointing it out kasi akala nang iba pareho lang yun.
aragay,tulo laway! 😆
Oohhh.. so yummm!

Yan ata orig na adobo. Sa mga lumang diksyonaryo kasi ng Tagalog, 'kilaw/quilao' ang salita para sa 'adobar'.
Sarap
